The Matter of Freya IX

While Ottar and Horn were still gathering the scattered executives of the Freya Familia Nox, Loki, Riveria, Finn and Gareth, in other words, Jun and the top executives of the Loki familia, goddess included, began their discussion about possible financial support.

Loki fake coughed to draw everyone's attention in preparation to speak.

"Alright! Let us discuss the possibility of receivin' financial backing from Noxy." The red haired goddess announced the beginning of the new round of discussions, this time, over an internal matter of the Loki Familia.

"To be honest, I'm okay with anything. Even if I had to pay for all of the Loki Familia's activities, it still wouldn't run me to the ground." Nox shrugged, making everyone but Riveria twitch at the sort of attitude only someone rich beyond their wildest dreams could have.

Gareth just thought of reliving his best years through massive parties with the familia and the best alcohol in the entire world, spirits worth more than he could imagine, enough of them to fill pools. That's what he would do with that kind of money.

Finn on the other hand, who saw the resurgence and the rise of the pallum race as a sacred duty he had taken upon his small shoulders, though at how closer he would be to his goal with such funds.

He would not have to limit himself to be a symbol, a hero for his people to admire and worship and could actually help improve the entire race and its kingdom from its foundation.

Riveria on the other hand, did not have any extra thoughts in particular. After all, as Nox's second in command, she had authorization to draw any amount needed from his funds.

As such, so long as she wanted it, the high elfess had the permission to do anything she pleased with the endless amounts of money available to her.

Still everyone quickly recovered as Finn took the word from Loki.

"Even if that's the case, you known we'd all feel pretty bad if we mooched off of you like that. Even if you don't really need it, we want to set up a fair deal that benefits both parties." He said.

"I get it. I would feel bad too if I was in your position." Nox replied.

"So, after recalling the deal made with our two guests, I came up with a proposal." Finn continued.

"Oh? Let's hear it then." Nox was intrigued.

"The Familia's largest expenditures come during expeditions as individual dungeon dives or small party based ones are mostly funded by the members of the group doing them unless they are a direct assignment from the familia." Finn said.

"So the deal is . . . You can fund a certain percentage of any large expedition we make as a familia and you will get that same percentage of all the materials and drop items we gather in said expedition." He paused.

"And, as an additional privilege, you can request for expeditions to be organized yourself. Though in this case, as we have no time to slowly gather funds, you will have to pay for the majority of the expenses. Of course, that also means your share of the earnings will be that much larger as well." Finn concluded his sales pitch.

"Sounds good to me." Nox casually replied.

"Are ya sure? I really don't want ta be takin' advantage of ya." Loki cautioned.

"Loki's right kid. You have done a lot for us and are about to do even more so we don't mind givin you a little more." Gareth supported.

Finn gave a wry smile as he felt the conditions were good enough already and giving Nox even more would not be worth the financial backing in the first place.

"No that's perfectly fine. To be honest, most of the consumables expedition type familias buy were mass produced by yours truly or at least I have shares of the profit." Nox started.

"That being the case, rather than giving you money to buy supplies, I can just let you take some of the surplus product, that way I will only lose a bit of money since everything I sell to the Loki Familia always had a massive discount and I'll get a huge cut of your profits in exchange." He revealed.

After he said those words however, everyone in the room felt itchy. Even though the deal was good, even though they were the ones who proposed it in the first place, even though it was still advantageous for them . . .

Loki and her executives still couldn't help but feel they had been ripped off. Sure, Nox's way of doing things was more efficient and the support the Loki Familia would be getting was the same as the one detailed in the deal.

But for Nox to have instantly though off a way to milk every bit of profit out of a deal they had just proposed while lowering his expenses to the bare minimum to the point that he was barely making an expenditure.

It left a bad taste in their mouths for sure. Even Riveria was shaking her head at her beloved's ability to make perfect honest and fair deals so ridiculously advantageous to himself. Still, she was one of his people now so the more profit Nox made, the more she benefitted.

Not to mention that regardless of how it felt, the Loki Familia was not actually taking any loss.

As this discussion came to an end with the signing of a magical contrat just to make everything official, as had become Orario's custom ever since Nox introduced magical contracts into the market, another discussion was about to start in the halls of Folkvangr.
