Episode 3 - Renewal of The Daleks - Part 1

Previously on Doctor Who:

Inside the Thal Camp, The 1st Doctor is with Barbara, Ian and Susan. The Doctor goes "this is what they call a compensator, my friend" Alydon goes "which is?" The Doctor mutters "the whole of it. It's useless. Throw it away. Forget it. Unless you want to live in a shell like our dead friends" Alydon then smiles "where do you get your knowledge, Doctor? You know, there never seems to have been time to ask, but we don't really know where you come from, or why" The Doctor smirks "to rebuild a whole new world. How I envy you" Alydon sighs "but you must stay and help us. We could learn from you" The Doctor shakes his head "oh, no, no. I'm afraid I'm much too old to be a pioneer. Although I was once amongst my own people" Alydon nods "well then, stay and advise us. Please" The Doctor shakes his head again "no, no, thank you. We're much too far away from home, my granddaughter and I. Thank you all the same. It's a nice gesture on your part. You know, this soil is not quite so barren as you think. I've been making tests, and even you might live to see and hear the birds amongst the trees. You wanted advice you said. I never give it. Never. But I might just say this to you. Always search for truth. My truth is in the stars and yours is here".

Dyoni then walks over "won't you rest with us?" The Doctor shakes his head "no, I'm afraid it's out of the question. But I might visit your grandchildren to find if they've learned the secrets, and if they have, well, who knows, I might live with them".

Susan then runs over, wearing a Thal cape "ta-da! Look, Grandfather, isn't it terrific? Thank you, Dyoni" Ian then smiles "what are you up to, Susan?" Susan goes "it's a present from Dyoni".

Ian looks at The Doctor "Doctor, have you fitted the fluid link?" The Doctor then goes "not yet, but I have it safely here. And there's no need to worry about mercury, young man" Ian nods "good. Well, goodbye, Dyoni" Dyoni nods at him "goodbye" Ian then smiles "goodbye, Alydon" Alydon looks at Ian "goodbye, Ian" The Doctor looks over at Susan and he goes "come along, my child. I'm hungry" Susan then smiles "goodbye, Dyoni" Dyoni waves at her "goodbye" Susan then looks at Alydon and she goes "thank you-" Susan leans in and she hugs Alydon "goodbye".

Barbara looks at Ganatus who kisses Barbara's hand, and she then kisses him on the lips, Barbra then walks into the Tardis. Alydon goes "come along, Ganatus" Ganatus nods and Dyoni goes "don't be sad, Ganatus" Ganatus goes "I won't be. But I don't think I'll ever forget her-". The Tardis then starts to dematerialise off of Skaro, and leaving Alydon, Dyoni and Ganatus behind.

The Tardis materialises inside a forest. Wind howls and the trees sway from side to side.

Inside the Tardis, in the console room, The Doctor stands trying to look at the Tardis screen and he sighs "come on, show me what's outside" Maya and Greg both stand watching The Doctor.

The Doctor sighs and he goes "well, guess I'm going to have to do this the old fashion way-" Maya goes "by just looking outside?" The Doctor nods "yep-" Maya then goes "I wanna do it" The Doctor laughs "okay, fine. Tell me what you see" Maya smiles at Greg and she runs to the door.

Maya opens the door and she steps out into a forest. Maya stands there smiling and she goes "well, I see trees...I see-" Maya stands there until she sees movement coming from the forest and she goes "I-" Maya tries to look at the movement coming from the forest and she stares in shock.

Back in the console room, The Doctor and Greg both stand there looking at the door. The Doctor goes "you see what?" Greg looks at The Doctor and he sighs "she's pretty useless with this".

Back outside, Maya watches as a Thal steps out of the forest and he goes "Doctor? D-Doctor?". Maya stares at the Thal and she shakes her head, but she then takes a step into the Tardis "Doctor, this is for you". Maya takes another step out of the Tardis with The Doctor and Greg.

The Doctor smiles "oh, hello there" The Thal goes "D-Doctor?" The Doctor nods "yeah, I am".

Walking through the forest, The Doctor follows a man "so Davio, tell me. How have things been going since I left?" Davio looks at The Doctor "it's been a while since you left, Doctor" The Doctor nods as Greg then walks closer to The Doctor "so, you know them?" The Doctor nods "yes, The Thals are quite a peaceful race on Skaro, last time I was here with them was with Jo, they had changed then, but this is before then. I remember Alydon, he became the high leader of The Thals, and then I met Alydon's great-grandson Damadus" Davio then turns around "maybe you should stop talking, I'm taking you to meet Temmosus" The Doctor stares at him "Temmosus?" Davio nods "Alydon and Dyoni's son" The Doctor smiles "oh I see, this is the generation after Alydon then, so I'm about to meet Damadus' parents?" Davio stares at him "you're an odd man".

Walking into camp, The Doctor, Maya and Greg watch as Davio walks over to a tent. The Doctor smiles at all The Thals. The Doctor looks over at a woman who walks over and she goes "hello Doctor, I'm Petra, it's nice to meet you" The Doctor smiles. Davio then walks over with a man.

(Commercial Break)

Stood in the camp, Davio looks at The Doctor "this is Temmosus Junior, the son of Alydon and Dyoni, our current high leader of The Thals" The Doctor stands there smiling at Temmosus.

Temmosus smiles "Doctor? Our people have heard so much about you, and how you saved our lives, it's almost like fate that you have returned" The Doctor looks at him "what are you talking about?" Temmosus goes "The Daleks, they have returned, they left the planet on an exploration mission a few years ago, but The Daleks returned, inside a capsule, they were different, the colour of them, they were different". The Doctor nods "silver and black, I brought them here, I didn't mean for it, they were dangerous with a Tardis". Maya and Greg both look at each other.

Outside of the city in the forest, The Doctor, Maya, Greg, Temmosus, Petra, Davio and two others stand. The Doctor looks at the two others. Petra goes "this is Oprah, my sister" the other man looks at The Doctor "and I'm Katrep". The Doctor looks down at the city and he goes "so, The Daleks returned to their home?" Maya then goes "this is the home planet of The Daleks?" The Doctor nods "one of the most dangerous planets in the universe" Greg then goes "and we're on it?" The Doctor goes "not by choice, I'm not even sure how we got here". The Doctor then looks at Temmosus "so what seems to be the issue?" Temmosus goes "the last time you were here, The Daleks couldn't leave their home, but now they seem to be able to roam free anywhere, I fear that they'll come after us, I fear they've already come after us" Greg then goes "what makes you think that?" Petra then goes "we sent a group out a few days ago to hunt for some food, they never returned, and our hunting parties have always returned, The Dalek have to have had something to do with it, and if they're alive, we want them back" The Doctor nods "I suppose you want me to go in there and try to reason with The Daleks?" Davio then looks at Temmosus. Temmosus nods "we do" The Doctor sighs "fine, but I go in alone!" Greg looks at him "no way, you can't!" The Doctor goes "you have met The Dalek's once! But you have not seen what they are capable of, I go in alone, and if I don't come out, then don't come in, that is an order, I don't ask for much, but please just listen to me this one time" Maya then nods "we will" Greg looks at her. The Doctor nods "I'll meet you back at the camp once I've spoken to them".

Greg and Maya stand with The Thals as The Doctor walks off towards the Dalek City.

(Commercial Break)

Walking through the forest, Maya looks at Davio "so, you all live out here in the forests? Don't you have an actual home?" Davio goes "this is our home, why?" Maya stares at him "but how can you live outside, isn't it cold?" Davio laughs "of course it is, but we make do with what we have".

Behind Maya and Davio, Greg walks with Temmosus and Petra. Greg goes "so, Temmosus, you were named after the previous leader of your group?" Temmosus nods "my father Alydon met The Doctor a long time ago, and Alydon always looked up to the original Temmosus, hence why he named me after him" Petra smiles "and he makes a very good leader" Greg smiles and he notices that Petra and Temmosus are holding hands. Greg smiles at the two of them.

Behind them, Oprah and Katrep walk together, but as they walk together, a noise is heard coming from the trees. Oprah stands looking into the forest, but Petra then shouts "come on, don't get left behind" Oprah then smiles and she runs up ahead to catch up with the others.

Oprah walks beside Greg as Greg goes "so Petra was telling me about your mother" Oprah nods "she died a couple of years ago, it was a deadly year, heavy winds, rain, a lot of people died" Greg looks at Petra who goes "I promised I'd look after her, and I will, once we deal with The Daleks, will be able to start living again, hopefully in peace" Greg smiles at her "hopefully".

The Doctor opens a sliding door, and he walks into a metal corridor. Up ahead, The Dalek command centre is seen, and humming is heard coming from inside. The Doctor walks closer, until reaching the command centre, and he walks inside. The Doctor sees it empty, with no Daleks. The Doctor then goes "so, where are you Daleks?" The Doctor looks at a control panel and he runs over to it. The Doctor presses a few buttons until he then looks at a screen. The Doctor reads something and he then goes "no, what are you doing out there!".

As The Doctor turns around, he goes to run towards the door, but as he turns, Davros sits in his chair behind him. The Doctor stares in shock "Davros" Davros smiles in his Silver and Black chair "Doctor, how it's so good to see you again, after all this time" The Doctor then says "the readings on that machine say that The Daleks are near the Thal camp, why?" Davros then smiles at The Doctor "I can't have a threat living just outside my city, they must be removed".

(Commercial Break)

Walking back into the Thal camp, Maya looks at Davio "so, no girlfriend then?" Davio smiles "why? You offering?" Maya then bursts out laughing "sorry, not ready for that commitment yet" Davio smiles "I'll find someone, eventually, it's a dream of mine to find someone I care about, and to have a child" Maya smiles at him "its a nice dream to have" Davio nods "do you have any dreams, Maya?" Maya stares at him "there's so many, but one of the biggest dreams already came true, I found a man who can show me the stars" Davio smiles at her "it's a good dream".

Greg watches as Temmosus and Petra join back with the other Thals. Greg sees Oprah, who is standing behind him, looking at him. Oprah smiles "sorry, just admiring such a beautiful man" Greg smiles "beautiful? Huh?" Oprah smiles at him "yeah, a problem with that?" Greg laughs.

Maya stands smiling as she watches Greg. Temmosus, Petra and Katrep walk over to her. Maya looks at them "is everything okay?" Katrep goes "noises heard coming from the trees, might be a problem" Maya then goes "has anyone checked that is might The Doctor?" Petra goes "not possible, it's too soon" Maya goes to reply until shouting is then heard from within the camp.

Maya, Temmosus, Petra and Katrep watch as Silver and Black Dalek's emerge from the forest.

Greg and Oprah stand together watching as Dalek's shoot the Thals as they emerge.

Davio tries looking around, and he sees Maya, Davio goes to run towards her but a Dalek looks at Davio and shouts "EXTERMINATE". The Dalek shoots Davio, killing him. Maya looks in shock.

Many Thals fall to the floor dead, Petra grabs Maya and she goes "we have to go!" Maya shakes her head "I have to get to Greg" Temmosus shakes his head "there's no time! You'll die too!".

Petra and Temmosus pull Maya away from the camp as Katrep run ahead with them away from the Thal forest, as they run, tears fall down Maya's cheeks as she leaves Greg behind.

In the camp, Greg and Oprah stand together and they watch some of the Thals escaping.

Three Dalek's start moving towards them, all shouting "EXTERMINATE". Oprah holds onto Greg screaming. Greg then shouts "I KNOW THE DOCTOR". The Daleks all stop, and they look at him. Greg then nods at them "I know The Doctor". The Dalek's all then look at each other.

(Commercial Break)

Standing inside the Dalek command centre with Davros, The Doctor glares at him "what did you do?!" Davros smiles, and he starts to move over to a control panel and he goes "I did what was necessary, for the survival of The Daleks, we are renewed, I hope you like my new Dalek's casing" The Doctor nods "you designed The Dalek's new casing then?" Davros nods "of course, they're my children, and every once in a while, they need to have their clothes changed, because they get old" The Doctor glares at him "if you have hurt my friends, I will-" Davros laughs "what? What will you do? You are the man too scared to hold a gun, to frightened to kill, so tell me, Doctor, what will you do to me?" The Doctor then gets into Davros' face and he goes "if you hurt the people that I love, then I have no idea what I will do to you, but I will be unstoppable!".

Davros sits there smiling until Dalek's enter the control room, and one of The Daleks goes "step away from Davros, or you will be EXTERMINATED". Davros looks at Greg and Oprah who are with them. Davros goes "why did you bring survivors?" The Dalek then goes "the male is with The Doctor" Davros smiles "put them in a holding cell, do not let them escape" The Doctor looks at Greg and he looks at him worriedly. Davros then goes "Doctor, we have your friends, now tell me, what will you do to me?" The Doctor then sighs and Davros nods "like I said, too scared to hold a gun, to frightened to kill". The Doctor watches Greg and Oprah leave the control room.

Outside the city, in the forest, Maya stands with Temmosus, Petra and Katrep. Temmosus goes "we can't do anymore, they're trapped, we'll have to leave" Maya then turns around and glares at him "Petra's sister is in there, and so is my brother, and my friend, we are not going anywhere! You're supposed to be a leader, are you really the leader to leave one of your own people behind?" Temmosus then looks at Petra who nods "Maya's right, I'm not leaving either".

Maya then goes "we need to make a plan to break them out of there, it's literally up to us now, their lives are in our hands" Katrep then goes "good job we have you then, a friend of The Doctor's, and a friend of The Doctor's is a friend ours" Petra smiles at Maya "yes you are".

Temmosus then goes "there's a way we can get in, but it'll be dangerous" Maya then smiles at him "didn't I tell you? Dangerous is my middle name". Temmosus, Katrep and Petra smile.

Next Time:

Davros sits in his chair as the Silver and Gold Supreme Dalek enters "Davros, what news is there?" Davros then goes "the bomb is almost ready, and soon this planet will be ready".

A light flashes down a cave. Outside the cave, Maya stands with everyone else. Maya goes "how deep do we have to go in?" Temmosus goes "not too far, as you head in, you'll see a ladder going downwards, that will lead you into the Dalek sewers".

The Doctor stands there until the door opens up and a Dalek is there "The Doctor will follow me" The Doctor nods at him "about time".

Davros looks at him "Doctor, it's time for you to help us" The Doctor stares at Davros "how?" Davros goes "we must activate the bomb" The Doctor stares at him.

An explosion then goes off in the distance, and smoke fills the cave.

Maya then screams "RUN!".

Daleks start to shout "SEEK, LOCATE ANNIHILATE" another Dalek says "SEEK, LOCATE, DESTROY" and another Dalek says "SEEK, LOCATE, EXTERMINATE".

Greg then turns around as the sound of vibrating comes from behind. Maya looks at him "what are you doing?" Greg goes "we've got nowhere else to run" Maya turns around with tears in her eyes as she then looks at a Silver and Black Dalek behind her.

Next Time - Renewal of The Daleks - Part 2 - When The Daleks confronting Davros, The Doctor has to find reason with Davros before The Daleks detonate a bomb. Maya and the others find themselves trapped within the Dalek sewers, and are attacked by dying Daleks.
