Sytr's Pet (part 1)

Ron and Ellen dived into the threatening waters of the eldest spring and the world changed when he saw what was on the other side it wasn't water though, but they found themselves diving into the vastness of space, thousands of stars, with a dark purple abyss surrounding them.

To Ron, he felt like he was floating WHIILE looking at the beautiful universe. Before he could take in the scenery the sky shifted, the stars moved and they were dragged somewhere else, this time they fell from the blue sky,

The wind whistled as they continued falling through the clouds, below them was complete fire and larva, this must have been the world of fire; Muspelheim, he closed his eyes then focused to change his position, he set his head first and clipped his to his back to get more streamlined, he was doing what Ellen was doing. The ground was so close before his ring lit up and he felt the air support him.

And was bounced back into the sky before he could reach the ground. Ellen also followed him from behind.

The feeling of flying was breathtaking, with the warm air

Touching his face and his hair moving recklessly as they cut through the sky.

"We have to stay on alert for demons," Ellen warned.

He nodded then summoned his sword. They were moving so fast, that a thunder-like sound would happen each time they picked up the pace. From down all Ron could see was larva and tiny moving creatures made of fire that must have been fire demons. As long as they don't attract the attention of the fire giant Sytr, they were safe.

But that was just for now because, after three minutes of thinking so, two fire demons appeared in front of them both with wings and horns made from fire. He slashed through the first one and it immediately shattered into stones. The second one exploded when a light arrow flew straight right through its chest. They were the strongest combination of two gods at the same time godslayers, an unstoppable dual. They flew up to the cave they were supposed to go through if they were to reach the home of giants.

They both set their feet down as they landed.

Ellen materialized her bag, unzipped it, and pulled out a gold watch that she tossed over to him.

"What is this?" he asked,

"That's Achilles' shield in its best condition," she said. "just press the screen."

Ron put it on then pressed the screen, and a golden round shield unfolded out. it was so light he couldn't even tell it was even made of gold. He stared at it the same way a child would stare at a new toy, with eyes of excitement and desire to can't wait to use it.

"This is the den for Sytr's pet dragon," Ellen said looking at the dark continuation of the cave. "We have to be ready to face it." her hair turned silver along with her eyes even without the presence of the moon.

She was the first to enter the cave and Ron followed from behind with his sword in his hand and ready to slash anything that would come in its way, right now he couldn't risk being a coward, if it meant saving his mom he was ready to use his powers at full potential and when it comes to the worst he will become a god.

It was dark at first before they saw a bright yellow light coming from the other side of the tunnel.

They ran, only to stop after realizing that they were on an underground cliff with the bottom being made of hot lava. You could see the tunnel's continuation from the other side.

"We can fly?" Ron suggested while looking at the distance between them and the tunnel.

"We can't fly, that larva may be able to mess with magic like the snow in Niflheim," she answered while scanning the space between them and the tunnel, "But….."--she paused--"We can jump."

Ron looked down at the hot red burning larva, then turned to Ellen. His face had turned purple after hearing jumping as a plan, had she forgotten that the ring is the one that allows him to fly, was she losing her mind slowly.

That's impossible, the entire distance is about ten kilometers away from us. We can't make it or even jump that far," he argued.

"Watch me," Ellen said with a devious smirk on her face then took about a one hundred steps back, she braced herself like a racer about to be given the green light to go. She sighed and one eye of her's turned red and she ran,

All this happened when Ron was just watching. She passed him then jumped once she reached the cliff end, she was in the air for about thirty seconds before horribly landing into the tunnel and rolling on the ground.

'Ouch' Ron thought while trying to imagine the kind of damage she may have experienced from that fall, but he was shocked when she stood up while tapping off the dust that had gone on her clothes.

"See," she yelled from the other side. "Now it's your turn." she gestured by tapping her wrist with her index finger to signal that they had no time to waste, it was now or never.

'You can do this Ron' he told himself sounding very anxious, "It's either now or never."

he ran a few meters back, braced himself then dashed forward and jumped. At first, it was dope, but when he looked down he panicked and lost his balance before he could reach the tunnel, he missed by an inch and was about to fall into the larva if Ellen didn't grab his hand.

He screamed and cried with tears running down his cheeks after thinking he was about to die.

Ellen then pulled him up and they both slammed their backs on the ground and looked up. The first thing she did was laugh, "That hurt by the way," she told him.

Ron sniffed in his mucus. "That was scary by the way," he laughed back.

She stared at him, "Beyond this tunnel is either a dragon and a doorway to Jotunheim or a dragon ready to eat us," she sounded so dark, but she was just trying to be realistic about this. It could end badly or successfully.

Ron chose to joke to maybe lighten up the mood, "I wonder how much homework they have stored for us back at the academy."

Ellen growled, "I don't even wish to think about it," she said. The pushed herself up and stood. Her bag magically shifted into a bow and a special quiver of arrows strapped itself on her back.

They walked through the tunnel and stepped into what looked like another cave, but this one was horrific. It was dark and warm, the ground was covered with skulls and bones of monsters and humans. Ron trembled on seeing all the skulls. The smell of rotting FLESH ruled the air and they could tell the dragon was around because of the loud sounds it made when breathing, lucky for them it was asleep, so all they needed to do was get to the other side of the cave where they will find the door that leads to the land of giants.
