Beginning after the end

"I love you Jayden, Hayden, Maria. I am sorry but I can't bear this pain anymore. Please forgive me" He exhaled and pressed the trigger.


Maria reached in time, grabbed his hand, and yanked it away. The bullet penetrated the roof of the office.


The gun had silencer on, otherwise all the white house would have gathered there.


"What are you doing?" Maria screamed. She snatched the gun and throw it away.


"How could you even think of doing something horrendous like this to us? She looked sullen.


"You didn't think of us? How would I have lived without you too?" She sobbed. Her anger had subsided.


"I can't bear it anymore." Mathew cried. He had lost a few pounds in just a day. He looked very weak and pitiful.


"It's burning here, and I can't seem to get rid of it." He hit his chest.
