Truth

"What do you mean?" Akira looked really confused at my question. "I'm right here."

"Don't bother lying." I inched my right hand closer behind his neck, ready to incapacitate him at any moment.

Akira blinked a few times in surprise. He then smiled mysteriously. He suddenly leaned forward and whispered in my ear.

"I could ask you the same thing."

I immediately moved my right hand, but before it could touch Akira's neck, I was pushed away. Well, it's more like him pushing himself away from me.

He took a few quick steps back, making a gap of a few feet between us. I frowned since Akira was way faster than I thought.

"Who are you?" I asked coldly with an obvious threat in my eyes.

"Who are YOU?" Akira asked back, still having that mysterious smile on his face.

'Who are you?'

Shut it. This is important.

'Ok...'

We both stayed quiet as we stared at each other. We didn't move at all for some time.

This lasted until Akira unexpectedly burst into laughter.

"HAHAHAHAHA! This is REALLY interesting!" Akira giggled. "It's rare seeing one of my own here. But then again, it IS a yandere game after all."

My frown grew deeper when he said one of his own.

'Is this really Akira? He's so different from usual.'

Yanderes, remember?

'Oh yeah.'

"Answer me." My tone was now colder and commanding.

"Just wait a moment, won't you?" Akira ignored my unfriendly air and continued without my answer. "Let me take a quick guess~"

He started to walk around me. I turned myself in place, watching Akira closely. I stayed silent and let Akira spill everything out.

"Let's see. First, you and Haruka have the same habits, but act completely different." He took a few steps forward. "Unlike Haruka, you actively changed the others' course. Though Ryuu probably had a lot to do with that. Haruka on the other hand, was-"

Akira started hopping and landing on one leg each time. Every time he landed, it was like an arrow was piercing 'her' heart.

"Submissive."

"Naive."

"Dumb."

"Weak."

"And just goes with the flow."

Oh geez. He's really grinding it down.

'I'm not any of those! There's no way in hell I am! You agree with me right?!'

...

'Hey! Don't stay quiet!'

...

'...' QAQ

Akira giggled seeing that I had no reaction at all.

"You also have the same memories." He went back to walking again. "But I checked that I'm the only one in this area, so that can't be it."

'What?'

Just mute yourself. You'll understand soon.

'Fine...'

"Lastly, your soul fluctuation is the same. It barely changed at all." Akira took one last hop before landing right where he began. "So here's my guess."

He turned towards me and gave me a deep look.

"Haruka has a split personality. And that's you, isn't it?"

...

A still silence loomed over us. Up until I opened my mouth to finally speak.

"Who are you?" I asked the question for the third time, in the same tone.

Akira blinked blankly, not expecting me to say that at all. He gets over it before giving me a genuine, happy smile.

"So I am right." He then sighed a breath of relief. "I'm glad I don't have to kill you. It really would've been a shame."

'!!! H-He wanted to what!'

Calm down. He only wanted to kill me because I wasn't you.

I then mentally tched.

Really, such a good best friend.

'O-Oh, I see. He really is a good friend.'

...

'She' really is dumb and naive. I thought to myself.

'... Why did I feel like you just scolded me?'

You're thinking too much.

'Oh, ok.'

... Really stupid. I thought to myself again.

"Who. Are. You." I focused back on the situation at hand.

"Fine Fine. I'll tell you now." Akira took a step back while he coughed to clear his throat. He then took a deep breath.

"As one of the several personalities of the All-Purpose Agent, the guinea pig of the main system world, code-named: Jack Of All Trades," Akira took a deep butler bow. "I, Akira Miyazaki, am ready to serve you at all times."

'... I didn't get any of that, other than the transmigrator part.'

I think I got the main points?

'Do you really?'

I'll... ask him to specify.

"One of the personalities?" I asked the first part that I heard him say.

"Yes." Akira nodded.

"So that's what you meant by one of your kind." I finally relax my guard around him.

"Yep." He smiled. "Well, it's not exactly the same."

"Explain." I said curious. Then just as he was about to speak, I added one more question. "Also, what happened to the previous Akira?"

"Hm..." Akira went silent for a short time to think. "Let me answer the first one first."

I nodded in agreement.

"Unlike you who's split personality was created in a 'natural' way, we can create them myself. We're able to create any personality we want."

"And so the previous Akira was created to monitor me, then you were made after Haruka changed personality." I cut in and said my own theory.

"That's correct, except for one thing." Akira lifted up one finger. "You're wrong about there being two Akira who were created."

"... I should've just let you finish everything at once, shouldn't I?"

"Yeah, you should've." Akira nodded. "Anyways, I am still the same Akira as the previous Akira."

Akira saw my confusion and explained more.

"When we create personalities, they begin as a blank slate. The kind of personality of those blank slates are determined by emotions and memories. While we could choose what memories to share, emotions has to be moved from one personality to another. Hell, we even have personalities created just to store the emotions as emotion banks."

'Wut? I understood nothing. There's too many personalities.'

Hush.

"I am 'created' by removing the emotion of love towards you, of the previous Akira. That's I'm acting more different since I really don't care if you know my true side or whatever. It's also why my name is still Akira Miyazaki, and not Jack Miyazaki or something. We don't share names since we're different 'people' after all."

'Should we have separate names too?'

We can talk about that later.

"Really? Jack Miyazaki?" I raised my eyebrow. "Did you really just-"

"Yes yes. I know I just used our codename, but I'm not good with names ok? I'm too lazy to think of a new one." Akira sighed. "Anyways, that's all right?"

"Just one more thing, Jack."

"What is- Hey!" Akira glared at me while I smirked. "Forget it, what do you want to ask?"

"It's about systems."

"What about them?" He looked confused.

"You can detect how many are in the area right?" I asked again instead of answering.

"Yes..." Akira narrowed his eyes.

"So how many are there?" I had a bad feeling when he did that.

"There's only one and that's mine."

...

Another silence loomed over us.

I had a grave expression until I saw Akira's eyes were as bright as the sun. And that wasn't really an exaggeration.

"You can deal with it right?" My tense body relaxed a little.

"Yep." He looked way too excited that all my worries disappeared. "All you have to do is lead it to our classroom. I'll deal with the rest."

"That's good." I sighed in relief, completely believing in him.

"You don't want the system's help?" Akira was amused at my decision. "It would want to help you, you know."

"Don't need it." I denied.

"Really? But what if it's actually the good system, and I'm the bad one?" Akira smirked.

"But you're my best friend, while the other one's a mysterious system with a hidden motive. Plus, I trust you." Akira looked extremely moved by my trust, until he heard my next sentence.

"But of course the main reason is that I can accurately tell other's emotions and motives. And since I can't sense any malice from you, of course I would trust you more than that obviously malicious system. It's also the reason why I didn't kill you for lusting after MY Ryuu, since I knew you were only interested and not in love."

Akira looked stunned.

"Guess I'm not the only crazy one." He then grinned. He walked forwards to me and held out his hand. I took it and shook it.

"Happy cooperations."

"Happy cooperations."

We smiled at each other. Akira turned around and began to leave. I did the same, but at halfway I remembered something.

"Wait."

"What is it?" Akira turned back.

"Why were you suddenly interested in Ryuu?" I stared at him threateningly.

"Hm?" Akira looked confused for a moment. His eyes then brighten up in understanding. "Oh, that! Well, that's because Ryuu is one of the top types on our preference list. You know, the gentle, obedient dummy. I sort of got influenced by the others and got a bit interested, but not anymore though."

My glare receded, glad that I don't have a rival to deal with.

"That reminds me." He looked at me with curiosity. "What did you do that made Ryuu so obedient? Even if you taught him love and became a couple, he still wouldn't have been that gentle."

"Ah, that's because I fainted twice in a row after his confession." I said without feeling guilty at all.

"Well, yes. I suppose that would make him treat you like porcelain." Akira nodded.

Which reminds me. Why didn't you go for Ryuu?

'Huh? What do you mean?'

Before you got transmigrated, didn't you say that Ryuu and the female protagonist could've gotten a better ending and even made one up?

'Yes... I did...'

So you empathize with him, liked him, and cared about him. You also practically had the perfect plan to help him too. So in the end, why didn't you go for him?

'I... don't know. Why didn't I go for him?'

Why are you asking me? Ask yourself.

'But I don't know why though...'

... So you really are a hopeless idiot.

'Hey! Why'd you say that?!'

Oopsy~ Did I say that out loud?

'...' QAQ

"So that's all I guess." Akira waved as he started walking in the direction of the school. "See you tomorrow then. I'll go set things up. See ya!"

"Bye~" I waved back.

I felt more relieved than ever before, like a huge burden was finally lifted off me.

I smiled and started to jog towards my house.

All the while me and 'her' continued to wonder why the fuck didn't 'she' date Ryuu before.
