Changes

Adam felt his body surge with energy. It made all the hairs on his body stand up. Afterward, he opened his eyes and found himself on the floor of the Tengu village's center.

Weird, Adam usually did not dream at all, and he had the most vivid dream of his house. Maybe it was not a natural occurrence. He remembered that the crystal reacted just before he lost consciousness.

Adam checked himself for the crystal. He did not have it anymore, and it was also not on the floor. Adam figured one of the Tengu found it and took it away. He searched around and found Yorky sitting on a log, munching on a rib from the beast.

"Yorky come here. I lost a blue crystal. Can you help me find it?" asked Adam.

Yorky looked at Adam with so little enthusiasm for the task that it was clear it was impossible. If one of the Tengu took the crystal, it could now be in a million different places in the village.

Adam did a double-take. He did not expect to communicate with the devil without touching the crystal, as this was the rule he had noticed before.

"What do you mean evolved? Where is the crystal?" Adam asked in a low voice.

"My bones? What did you do that for?" asked Adam.

Adam took a couple of deep breaths. He felt like his only source of information at the moment is the devil. From what it was saying, it caused some changes to his body that Adam needs to review. Hopefully, this evolution will not change the rule that it cannot lie.

"OK, can you scan me and show my stats?" he asked.

"OK. My stats are higher now. Can you tell me more about the changes to my body and the system you created?" asked Adam.

"Ohh, cool. Can we change the name? I'm used to calling it Mana. Were there any more changes?" asked Adam.

Adam thought about it for a minute. Finally, he concluded he did like the idea of improving his attributes quickly.

"I don't have a problem with improving my body, but never do it without my express permission. I like the idea of selecting the improvement options for my optimal build" stated Adam.

There was a pregnant silence.

"Agree? Never without my consent, and we need to agree on the changes before you do anything" he said with more harshness in his voice.

"OK. Now, what is the Encyclopedic system? Show me what changes you gave yourself." asked Adam.
