Dressed To Kill

. . .

When sunset came, everyone found themselves admiring the horizon. But Jin, who was looking forward for their dinner, had his mind fogged up with questions.

"Colton, have you ever been on a dinner date before," he asked his assistant.

"I'm so sorry, but I've never been on a date before, Mr. Yang. Why do you ask?"

"Ahh, then I guess I can't ask you questions about it."

Assistant Colton immediately took his sunglasses off and stood up from his own beach chair. These two men were actually sitting on three-gapped beach chairs, talking with each other on the sly.

"Don't worry Mr. Yang, if you can give me an hour to research some information, I'd gladly present a detailed report for your dinner date with Miss Lin."

Jin cleared his throat. "Well, if that's what you have to do, then go on."

After an hour, they found themselves inside a private room. There was a big screen already set up, and Assistant Colton stood ready to present his date plan.

"So these are the things I came up on how to make a dinner date successful."

He flashed the first slide bearing the first step: Drive your fanciest car.

"I have concluded that it is a must to use your fanciest car on a dinner date. But since we're all sand and sea, I can recommend going on an yacht instead. I already prepared a yacht for Mr. Yang and Miss Lin to board into."

Jin nodded his head and Assistant Colton went on the next slide: Be sure to bring flowers.

"The second key is that you bring her flowers. Red roses, which symbolizes love, is the best option there is. I already had a bouquet of a hundred flowers ready."

"I don't think that would work," Jin differed, "Zeirenne never accepts flowers unless they are potted."

Assistant Colton adjusted his glasses. "I see, then I'll have to request for a whole pot of roses, instead."

He excused himself for a minute to fix the order. Upon coming back, he fixed his suit and posture before continuing his report.

"The first glance is the most important. Dress to impress. When she lays her eyes on you, she should be in awe. Like you're both meeting again for the first time and you're aiming for a love at first sight. I have already prepared a set of clothes for you to choose from."

Jin nodded his head and Assistant Colton continued.

"The next one is common sense. You have to remember to open the doors for her, as well as pulling the chair. I think this not out of the ordinary though, because you always do it for Miss Lin so we're skipping to the next slide."

"This is the last and the hardest step. You should remember to keep a sweet talk on you tongue. Compliment her. Her eyes, her make up, her clothes--everything! Make sure to make her blush every chance you get!"

Jin furrowed his brows from seeing his assistant all fired up. Assistant Colton, who noticed this, bowed his head down in apology. "I'm sorry for being excited."

He cleared his throat before ending his presentation, "That would be all for this date plan. I believe that Mr. Yang is very much capable of succeding as I've never seen you fail before."

After this session, Jin fixed himself. For the first time in his life, he felt conscious on how he looked. It took him an hour to fix his hair, another hour in choosing a suit and tie, and another hour on choosing his shoes.

He came out of his room in a slick-back hair. He had to wait outside her door for a few minutes. As women walked by the hallway, their eyes were glued on him. He blessed the hallway with such a godly aura, and a very enticing manly scent that drew all the girls out. Lots of couples argued after passing that hallway.

All the attention was darted on him, but his mind was nowhere near this city. He fidgeted like a boy about to confess to his first love. Well, she is indeed his first love; and the last... he could swear.

The doorknob turned and it spat out Zeirenne who looked dashing in her white shirt and jeans.

However, the first response supposed to be amazement, took a different turn. She furrowed her eyebrows upon seeing his get up.

"Where are you going?" she asked while surveying him from head to toe, "Who are you killing?"

(Probably all the girls in their paths)

Jin cleared his throat, "On our dinner date. Do you need some more time to prepare? I can wait."

Zeirenne's face crunched into a grimace. "Dinner date what? Change you clothes. We're only eating on a small place not a fancy Michelin-star restaurant."

Jin got flushed from hearing this. He entered his room once again, ransacking his closet for some casual clothes.

"Colton, I'm gonna kill you after this," he murmured while changing into his daily clothes. He dug inside his luggage, first grab, that's it. He ended up wearing a beige shirt underneath a white cardigan. Then, he slipped on his slacks before wearing his white shoes.

He looked at himself in the mirror to fix his gaze that displayed irritation for failing the first step. His mood was already going South, and to make matters worse, he stepped out of his room to see Zeirenne and Mr. Jones, the PR Department head, holding hands. Well, not really holding hands as his eyes deemed it to be. This subordinate was simply "shaking" his CEO's hand for their teamwork during the volleyball game.

The sound of his door slamming shut echoed around the hallway, and the two almost jumped in place out of shock. Zeirenne poked her ears for relief and Mr. Jones met Jin's gaze, he had to step back.

"I'll go now, Miss Lin," he said before scampering out of their sights.

"Man, you almost broke my eardrums. Can't you be more careful? Tsk."

He glared at her.

"What?" she asked him.

He took a deep breath and ruffled his hair. He'd known it for long, how guys are always attracted to her. He hated it of course, but there's nothing he can do about it, and jealousy is not something he can admit.

After calming himself down, he met her confused gaze, "Alright, I'm sorry. I promise to be more careful next time," he said while reaching for her earlobes, squeezing it three times.
