Chapter 7: Impending Attack

Everyone was dismissed from that meeting which left everyone to think in sorrow. Captain Carg was stationed at another base that was on the same planet as the Rebellion's home base, so he only used a BARC speeder bike to get there. When Patrick Rahr left, he could feel a tingling in his bones that something bad is going to come to worse. He just could not put his limb on it. Nobody spoke a single syllable after that meeting they all just had. It felt like there was some massive genocide that just occurred. They most likely felt this way due to the unforeseen fact that it could happen any day now. Carg was truly in deep thought on his speeder ride back to his own base. He personally thought of happenings that could change not only the war, but history itself. He wouldn't dare speak of them, not just yet.

Once he got there, Carg was greeted by a rebel trooper and notified him that the three mercenaries were inside, awaiting for his anticipated arrival. Carg did not hesitate to swipe his identification card in the little machine that activated the door that led to the outside. He met with mercenaries Dropkick, Lazyeye, and Pulse. "Gentlemen, good to see you again, and on the bright side of the Force," Carg mentioned.

"Let's just get one thing clear, we are not on any side of the Force, we are on the side of the highest bidder," Dropkick replied, in a sly manner. This caught the attention of Captain Carg but was too wrapped up in his own situation with Ponds.

"Alright, here's the deal. Ponds has randomly "come back from the dead" and has gone rogue. We just need your guys' help to apprehend him," Carg informed.

Dropkick twisted his three hundred and sixty degree chair to the direction of Carg. "So where is this guy gonna attack next, Cargy-boy?"

Carg shook his head and smiled in a frustrated physical tone. "Well, that's an interesting question..."

"Why the Hell is that?" Lazyeye interfered.

"Because I just have a feeling that place is here," Carg said right before a loud boom went off from Slave I. An irritating sound of a red alert beeped off in the base. Carg went out to meet with Ponds while the mercenaries got into position. "Hello, there," Carg announced calmly to Ponds. Ponds got out his gun and aimed it right at Carg's eyes from a distance. "So, you have no plan to kill me, you're just going to do so, just like you killed Blitz. That is a despicable act."

"What? I did not kill Blitz. One of my leaders did and Blitz brought it upon himself," Ponds said in disgust.

"How is that?" Carg replied, genuinely curious to hear an answer.

"He-" Without letting him finish, the three mercenaries stunned Ponds from behind cover. Carg left no expression on his face.

A few hours later, Ponds awakened from his unconscious state with wires and headgear on him. He resisted as if his life were on the line. He spotted a silhouette that soon formed to a life-like state of Carg. "There's nothing psychologically wrong with you, so what is your story?" Carg said. But right before Ponds could speak, another bomb went off, killing Lazyeye and Pulse and forcing Carg to fall to the floor. A ringing noise commenced inside of Carg's ear. Out stepped Aurra and Coach. Aurra taunted Carg and executed Dropkick which made the clone trooper captain let out a huge "no". Ponds was released by Aurra and they all smirked at the sight of Carg... drowning in his sorrows.
