Chapter 9

So they unloaded the horses, Henry saddled up the horses, Sam saddled up his horse and the boys just put a blanket over the horses.

"Yellow Bird I need for you to stay here, I want you to stand near the gate, when you hear me whistle, open the gate wide so the Buffaloes will run towards the gate," said Henry.

"Okay," said Yellow Bird.

"I'll help her," said Victor.

"Oh no you don't, we need all the help we can get," said Henry.

"Whatever," Victor jumping on the back of the horse and started moving, he was angry.

"This feels good, it's been a long time,' said Edward.

"Too long," said Jason.

"Let's get moving," said Sam.

Jason looked back at Victor and smiled; Victor just rolled his eyes. Jason knew it felt good to Victor. As they were riding, they saw hoof marks on the ground.

"Those are fresh," pointed Victor.

"You are right, that's good," said Sam.

They kept riding, they came to a stop and saw the buffalo grazing on the grass, they were on a grassy hill looking out towards the buffalo grazing.

"Wow, this is what it felt like in the old days, especially just looking at them like this on a hill, takes your breath away," said Edward.

"Yes it's pretty cool not a lot of people get to see this, so you know how to round them up, make them come to this direction?" asked Sam.

"Yes sir we do, we have an awesome teacher," said Edward.

"Alright then," said Sam.

"Can we go now," Jason getting excited to run down the hill on his horse.

"Go, but be careful," said Sam smiling.

So, they raced down, Jason got so excited he let out a yell, as did Edward, Victor just rolled his eye and shook his head like his brothers were crazy or something.

Back at the ranch, Yellow Bird was waiting, a young native boy walked up to Yellow Bird.

"Hey there, my name is Black Cloud what's your name?" asked Black Cloud.

"Oh, hello, my name is Yellow Bird, I work for Henry on the Chandler Ranch," said Yellow Bird.

"Oh, my father talks a lot about Henry, I've been to Chandler Ranch before it's a beautiful area," said Black Cloud.

"Yeah it sure is, its also a great place to work," said Yellow Bird.

He noticed the choker around her neck, and he backed off.

"Oh, uh here let me help you, I'll unlatch and then when they come all you have to do is open the gate," said Black Cloud.

"Oh thank you," said Yellow Bird.

"You are welcome," said Black Cloud.

Black Cloud went over towards the water hose and started to fill the barrels up with water. They herd hoof sounds and the ground rumbling, then she heard a whistle. She quickly opened the gate and all the buffalo ran inside the gated area, and Yellow Bird quickly shutting the gate and locked it.

"Good job everybody," said Henry.

"Son come out here, I would like for you to meet Henry's nephews," said Sam.

So he left the water hose in the barrel.

"Henry you know my son Black Cloud," said Sam.

"I sure do, he was a baby the last time I saw him," smiled Henry.

"Nice to meet you all,' said Black Cloud.

"It's nice to meet you as well," said Edward shaking Black Clouds hand.

"Will since we got all the buffalos in, shall we go inside for some tea?" asked Sam.

"Thank you, that sounds great," said Henry.

So they all went inside and had a glass of tea. When they were finished, they went out and loaded the trailers up with the horses and left the ranch.
