Anna Gale didn't sleep well that night. She could hear both girls crying upstairs and left house just as soon rose up.

No, she didn't lock doors or do anything, just left without telling them.

Someone must think this might be cruel, but she was not a grown up person. She didn't want to hit them or scream on them.

They had such things before apocalypse and certainly she had no intention doing that.

But she was afraid that if they don't change and start thinking logically, they will be harmed in future.

Yes, they were five year or kids. But these two were much more than common five year old children. She was afraid that one day she might get harmed, get sick or just have an accident and die.

How I'll these two survive then?

Especially as she was now certain that gate was directly connected to her.

The new map was open and she walked down the empty street while talking on her own.

"If something happens to me, will they be able to go to the other world?"

*No. Even if your sisters were accepted to come with you, they can not control the gate. In case of your passing the gate between worlds will cease to exist. They will be stuck or there or here.*

Anna Gale nodded. She expected this answer already and sighed as she tried to walk around a big puddle.

"Is there no way I can ensure their safety when I'm not around?"

*Request has been denied. Only safety is to pass the gate.*

So they had only two options, this or that world.

Michelle opened the door to outside and then the window and sat on the stool while leaning on the wall. "Sister must be really angry this time."

Alice sat down and just now saw the brown clothing on the tidy bed that Anna left. "She bought the material..."

They glanced at the bread on table and two bowls prepared for them with cereal on table and whole box of milk.

"She even left all the sweets we like in the big bowl." Michelle glanced at the big bowl filled with neatly arranged chocolates and candies.

The other bowl had freshly washed fruits.

Both of them looked at each other.

They were two small children that didn't think too much of it and just thought it is normal thing to do, but years later the would still remember this day when she punished them but still her love was all over the room shown.

Anna Gale this time left the screen open as she feared that girls might go out and get in trouble, but except opening door and windows, they stayed inside.

This time there was no carriage so she had to walk. She couldn't even use bicycle as she had no time idea what's ahead.

The bushes in this part of road were quite high and covered her view. The road opened only as much she walked so the gate knew just as much she knew.

"Who is there?" An voice yelled as she was walking past a big tree.

The voice was young and she stopped to see who is speaking. "Just a passer-by. Will continue my way."

Anna Gale already heard various stories about big men luring little girls behind trees and doing atrocities

"Help me out... please." The voice was faint.

She was not curious person but as she had special help from the strange creature, she opened the map and neared the picture the most she could.

Between trees was lying a young man in simple commoner attire. He had battered face and leaned on nearby tree.

One of his eyes was closed and the other barely open. A bit blood trickled down corner of his lips.

Anna Gale whispered. "You said we can never take other people trough the gate. Are there maybe exceptions? Like now?"

*Request has been refused. Gate can be used only by you three.*

As expected. Even though she would love to transport him away to another city, it seems it was impossible.

She searched map and suddenly saw carriage parking near one of inns and drunken driver dizzily going inside.

"People can't pass, what about animals?" She pointed at a visibly beaten mule and simple carriage.

*Only humans are forbidden to be transported. Is your wish to open the gate?*

"Open it." She directly went to the carriage and drove with the gate back to the spot where the young man was on ground.

He fainted a bit and woke up as he heard carriage stopping nearby.

One of his eyes was completely closed after beating, but the other was open and he saw a young boy in strange attire coming.

He thought it was a girl, but as it seems it was a boy?

"I stole the mule and carriage from an abusive man that hit the poor animal too much. If you promise me not to mistreat the animal I will let you have it." She was honest and pointed at visibly hurt animal.

The drunken man was really far away in her own county and he could just go somewhere else.

The boy took a small pouch out of his clothes and pushed five silver balls to him. "This is a lot of money..."

"Go to the next town and rent one farm or find a job. Live proper life. Noble of that place is a wise person. Go." She stood up and was about to go down the road when he stopped her.

"Don't go there." He was frightened to see the young boy just smiling at him.

"You are good man. Good people will have a good life. Sell carriage as it is anyway old and buy better one. We shall meet in the future. And one thing... don't tell anyone about me. Understood?"

A shiny gate opened in front of her and she passed it. Only the three could see what is on the other side, but for him it looked only like a shiny gate.

"A deity?" He was stunned.

He sat on the stolen car and mule and went straight to next city.

That child saved his life.

A deity saved his life.

His cracked lips parted into a smile and he hissed in pain. He completely forgot his condition.

Anna Gale calmly sat next to her sisters and ate lunch they prepared. "Your punishment will last four more days. Take books and read or play games. But you can't go outside."

She quickly brought firewood and in last moment passed trough the gate.

It was really a beautiful day, but even she could feel strange atmosphere as she neared first village.

There were no loud animals, birds or playing children. Just dead silence.

This is same like in her world where zombies traveled around to eat people. She had her map open and saw that as soon she neared village ready of village was covered.

No people...

Doors opened and bunch of broken things could be seen. She could almost imagine strong wind and desert grass rolling around this place like in western movies.

Just then she saw something...
