Practice II
Once he got into this space. He saw that it was large. It was about a thousand meters wide and long.
As a training space, it does not have statues or puppets he would be able to practice his battle-methods on. The space was to only allow people familiarize themselves with the battle-methods they studied.
He moved profound cosmic sword energy to a hand. This caused that hand to glow in a resplendent light and emit soft buzzing sounds.
Then he deployed a sword battle-technique for the flow activation stage.
"Lacerating fist!"
He shouted and punched out. The moment he punched out, the energy that had saturated his fist shot out from it and into the distance as a beam of energy.
As it moved in the air, it produced a humming sound and emanated light that dyed the ground below it in it colour.
Bai Chen's eyes widened in amazement "This is really cool stuff". He said inwardly in an elated tone. This was the first time he was trying out a battle-technique. And it felt awesome to be able to shoot beams of energy off one's hand.
He did it again and again.
"Lacerating fist!"
He shouted and punched out. The instant he punched out, a larger beam of energy erupted from his fist and shot into the distance.
This was larger in size because he had channeled more energy to his fist. He was getting proficient at moving energy quickly and in large amounts to his fist.
When he drained himself of energy to the last sliver, he sat down in the cross-legged position on the ground to cultivate. This was just to recover his lost energy.
When he felt he had recovered a lot of energy, he stood and continued to practice.
When he got a hang of lacerating fist, he unclenched his fist, straightened his fingers and brought them tightly together. His thumb was also straightened and joined with his fingers that were tightly packed.
He shaped his hand to take the form of a knife for his next energy-attack.
His knife-form hand began to glow as he moved profound cosmic sword energy to it and saturated it with it.
He stomped the ground and shot himself twelve feet into the air.
"Lacerating slash!"
He shouted and swung his glowing hand vertically in a slashing fashion.
One could imagine it as slashing someone vertically from the head to the waist with a long sword.
The instant he swung that hand, a vertical beam of energy that was dozens of inches tall erupted from it and shot into the distance at great speed.
Then he landed back to the ground.
The energy beam was vertical and thin because Bai Chen slashed out along the vertical plane. If he slashed out horizontally, that is along the horizontal plane, the energy beam would be wide.
Then he continued to practice the other techniques.
As Bai Chen did one move after the other, he couldn't help but be amazed. Discharging beams of energy off his hands and legs made his eyes glow in deep astonishment. This was a marvelous feeling.
He wished he had reached the peak-phase flow activation stage or the next cultivation stage which was the condensation stage.
He would love to see the amount of power he would be able to produce in his attack because then, the quality and quantity of his energy would have increased.
He knew about this from the cultivation introduction book his mom got for him back at home. That was why he was worried when he felt he had become stagnant in his cultivation.
The energy of others would grow to a degree in density while his would lack that degree of denseness. If they launched energy-attacks at each other and their powered offensives collided, his would shatter because it was less dense while the other would move on towards him.
In the book he read, quality was described as the density of the energy. The cultivation energies achieve a higher degree of denseness when one move from one cultivation phase to another and a overall leap in density from a cultivation realm to another.
That's why the energy of a flow activation stage can't be compared to that of a condensation stage. If a beam of energy produced by a cultivator at the flow activation stage can dent a one-inch steel on impact, that of someone at the condensation stage can punch a large hole in a four inch-steel.
Also, their quantity increases as his cultivation climbs from one rank to another.
He was happy his cultivation base increased by a level in quality. If it remained stagnant, the quality of his energy would remain the same while that of others would increase and it would overpower his if they fought in a battle. That would be a great disadvantage to him.
Besides, as one cultivates and enters the next cultivation realm, the cultivation energy stored in the energyhouse would take different forms.
The first nine stages of cultivation, which are
- Flow Activation stage,
- Condensation stage,
- Earth Palace Monarch stage,
- Cloud Layer Ruler stage,
- Heaven Palace Monarch stage,
- Saint stage,
- Great Saint stage,
- Saint Emperor stage and
- Grand Saint Emperor stage etc
Are also called the following below:
- Cosmic Circulation stage,
- Cosmic Coalescence stage,
- Cosmic Core Formation stage,
- Cosmic Core Evolution stage,
- Cosmic Core Transformation stage,
- Cosmic Core Refinement stage,
- Cosmic Core Baptism stage,
- Origin Entry stage and
- Origin Pool Formation stage.
The first nine stages mentioned above are where the energy changes from one form to another. But it doesn't stop there. Change in form of cultivation energy continues till one reaches the apex of cultivation which is the 'Absolute Primordial Infinite'.
So, in the flow activation stage (also called cosmic circulation stage), this is the stage one breaks through the human shackles to become a cultivator. In this stage, they gain numerous abilities of a cultivator.
In the condensation stage (cosmic coalescence stage) is the stage where the energy congeals. That is it thickens. One could imagine it as a gas becoming a liquid because it contains more 'substance'.
In the earth palace monarch stage (cosmic core formation stage), the profound cosmic energy in the energyhouse becomes a solid lump of energy. This lump is referred to as the core (cosmic core).
In Cloud Layer Ruler stage (Cosmic Core Evolution stage), the core evolves and one gains the ability to fly.
In Heaven Palace Monarch stage (Cosmic Core Transformation stage), the core of one's energies shatter and reassemble taking a new form. They could take any of the shapes of myriad of things.
The form they take depends on the will of the cultivator. For example, one whose will and intent is to slash into halves difficulties that surface in his cultivation journey would have his core take the form of a sword.
Also, due to the transformation of their core, they gain two new abilities. First, the ability to look into the soul-residing region of the body. Secondly, they gain telekinetic power, a formless, unseen power that emanates from them and can move, lift or spin things.
In Cosmic Core Refinement stage (Saint stage), the core undergoes destruction and reassemble from the pieces. The core undergoes tempering in this process.
It's a life-or-death stage every cultivator must go through as it's one of the major tribulation stages for all cultivators. If one's core withstands the destruction and successfully reforms, the core undergoes astronomical qualitative and quantitative transformation. But if they don't, they simply die.
In the Great Saint stage (Cosmic Core Baptism stage), the core is baptized, cleansed with profound origin energy to remove all forms of impurities in the core during cultivation of profound cosmic energy.
In Saint Emperor stage (Origin Entry stage), one enters into a higher dimension of cultivation. In this stage, the energy they would begin to cultivate is 'Profound Origin Energy'.
It is similar to flow activation stage in cultivation, as it the stage where one would be able to sense profound origin energy.
In the Grand Saint Emperor stage (Origin Pool Formation stage), the profound origin energy they cultivate would grow into a pool.
In this universe, there are also ranks of energies. As one cultivates and ascends in cultivation rank, one becomes exposed to the various energies at different cultivation level.
They are listed in decreasing order of strength:
- Primal Nascent energy
- Profound Origin energy
- Profound Cosmic energy
Profound cosmic energy is basal or primary energy in the universe.
profound origin energy is the secondary energy in the universe. It is the energy cultivators at the Saint emperor stage begin to cultivate.
Primal nascent energy is the tertiary energy in the universe. It is the energy cultivators from the God stage begin to cultivate.
