Chapter Four

Day two.

I am abandoned, lost to be never found. A mission gone wrong.

Every day is the same, nothing changes. My faith is sealed.

But I refuse to be helpless.

I sit and watch as the gods show me the killing of the Innocents. They blame it on me, but I refuse to accept that.

I fear soon I will go mad, or I already am. I try day by day to find a way out, but I fail.

But nothing hurts, like watching the love of your life with another.

I am forgotten, merely a myth.

For if my mate can forget me, who would not.

"That's sad". Zoe interrupted.

Amos agreed, but he continued reading.

I watch as she grows old and dies in the arms of another.

I can do nothing, for this is my punishment.

Day three

Watching my love with another was hard, but watching her die was the last straw.

Today, I shall join her.

"Oh, I think we just read a suicide note". Zoe muttered, she moved closer to Amos, trying to find comfort in his arms.

Amos dropped the book and embraced Zoe. He didn't want her to be scared.

Spencer rolled her eyes at the two love birds and picked up the book. She opened it to continue reading but saw that was the last words on the book. "It's stops at day three. This doesn't make any sense. If he says his cursed to live forever then how can he be dead?"

"Maybe he found a way to die". Aria added.

"If he did, then who touched me and who did you see?" Spencer just wasn't convinced; the whole thing did not add up to her.

"I can't believe you all are buying this. There is a simple explanation for all this". Sawyer grumbled.

"Oh yeah, what's that?" Aria questioned.

"Ah, this is just a figment of our imagination". Sawyer snapped.

Ignoring him, Aria turned to Spencer. "Maybe we are looking at this wrong".

"What do you mean?" Zoe asked.

"What if, he did try killing himself that day, but he didn't succeed. He might be the one in this house".

Spencer agreed with Aria. But why did he stop writing in his journal. "This might be a game".

Holding Zoe closer, Amos asked Spencer. "What do you mean?"

"He said the gods are punishing him. What if, as we stepped into this house, we are automatically participants in this game?"

Oh shit. "Are you saying finding and reading this damn book was all planned?" Aria wasn't sure if her statement was a question. Within her, she knew Spencer was right.

"Wait". Sawyer yelled, grabbing everyone's attention, seeing everyone was listening, he continued. "If someone's watching us, shouldn't they be cameras".

At his words, the teens looked around, trying to find any hidden cameras, but found none.

A thought occurred to Zoe. "Maybe we aren't watched with cameras".

"If not cameras, then what".

Zoe turned to her sister. "Come on guys, if gods exist, then why would they need cameras".

Aria didn't want to admit but Zoe was right. She heard a breaking sound and turned to see Sawyer constantly hitting a glass window. She was just about to yell at him when Amos beat her to it.

"What the hell man. Do you know how much trouble we are going to be in"?

Sawyer merely spared Amos a look and continued hitting the windows with the iron chair he had picked up. "I don't give a bloody fuck. This place freaks me out and am getting the hell out of here. I'll rather be in jail than this house".

Sawyer continued hitting the window until it broke down. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he prepared himself to jump when the most surprising thing happened.

To his shock the once broken window repaired itself and turned into a wall.

Pointing to where a window once was, Sawyer turned to his friends and back to the present wall, without a word he fell to the ground.

Aria turned to her friend. "Your boyfriend fainted".

Ignoring Aria, she stared at the door wondering how it was scientifically possible. It felt like she had walked into a different dimension and everything she knew meant nothing here. This world or universe had different rules from her own world.

In a way she was scared and excited at the same time, something in her had aroused and she couldn't wait to explore this new excitement in her.

She sidestepped her boyfriend's body and walked closer to what was once a window, ready to examine it. "This definitely means, we can't get out of here unless we play their stupid game".

"True, but what is their game". Zoe's question brought silence to group, the only sound that was heard was of Sawyer groining, for he had awoken.

Far in the house, the shadow hid away. He had brought the house to them, hoping they enter and when they did he watched, waiting patiently for when he could introduce himself to them.

For human's fear what they don't know or understand.

With his mind, he moved the house again, he was so close and he couldn't stop now. For a century he had watched the world change, unable to be experience the world as it changed and he treaded every part of it. His house was his life, he was bonded to the house just like he was bonded to the curse. He looked up and he could almost see the stupid smirk of the gods he once served. He was so close to defeating them, one way or another he was going to get back to his time, to the normal world where he could die.

This was the place he found the map, the place all men in his time had feared. The love he had for his people had driven him to come here. Now, he had driven others here to. He knew the gods still interfered with what he did. Seeing one of the teenagers being killed by a Yellow Hail was prove of that. He despised those creatures, minions of the gods that enjoyed killing and eating humans. The gods might be forgotten to humans now, thanks to him but that wasn't enough. He wanted each and every one of them killed.

Revenge is a drug, one he was definitely addicted to.

He wanted to die, to put an end to this torture but he would make sure the gods died with him. Each and every last one.

They had taking everything from him and he was going to enjoy watching them die, one by one.

There were the key, just like the house was.

He hid behind the shoulders, waiting patiently. Once, he could never be described as a patient man but knowing you had all the time to live could change a man.

With a flick of his wrist, he caused an earthquake in the grounds of the house and as he did the teens fell to the ground as the magic pulled them to a room beneath the castle.

Perfect, soon the map would be found and the fun could really begin.

"Earth quake, everyone go down". Amos yelled and the teens fell to the ground trying to find cover. They struggled to find something to hold on, as a mighty wind blew through the house. The bed, chairs and every furniture flew around in circle like a hurricane.

To Amos it felt like the wind was searching for something or someone, because after an object was picked up it threw it away and picked up another thing. It sounded crazy but it felt like the wind was alive.

Honestly, it was not the least crazy thing he had experienced today but it still made his head spin.

From a distance he heard Zoe scream and in instinct he turned to her and he saw she was trying to hold onto the wall but the force of the wind was overpowering her. Crawling to her, he knew he had to do something. "Hold on Zo, I am coming". In response Zoe screamed again.

He held her hand with one hand and the other he held a wall with as much will power as he could muster. The wind blew with so much force, he felt like he was being swiped off.

Slowly his hand slipped off and just when he thought he was going to die, Aria caught his arm. "We got you". He looked up and he saw not only Aria but Spencer and Sawyer. They had attached their arms together.

"You know guys, this is not the way I imagined myself dying". Aria yelled.

A smirking Sawyer laughed. "Yeah, I always thought I would die in the arms of a thousand girls, all cheering my name". He looked to Spencer and smiled. "No offence babe".

Shaking her head at her boyfriend's stupidity, she couldn't help but laugh. "Since we are all going to die and that's never going to happen. None taking".

Zoe looked up at her sister and her friends, knowing in her heart, they were all going to die. "You all know I love you right. Even you Sawyer".

Those where the last words heard as the teens were thrown deep into the castle, far, far away
