The third sun rose from the south, as it had since their people had come to this land. It was the hottest sun of the three that shone over Kudan and set in the east. The other two suns followed different paths and though they could be seen in the distance, they didn't shine directly on the Sunlands and therefore were of little importance to the tribes and palaces that existed there.
Benevolen Ashier P'tora, of the P'tora farming clan, laid against a large sand hill, one hand resting on her herding staff, the other on her full stomach. The third sun rays kept her body warm enough to fall into a deep sleep. She debated on doing just that, her flock of goats didn't wander too often. If she slept, chances were they too would lie down and sleep. Her hijab protected her from the harshness of the third sun and if she leaned back just so her tightly curled hair would provide some support for her neck and head.
