Even though Dino tried his best to mask whatever he was thinking behind his innocent smile, Ivan still noticed it. He knew Dino well enough to tell whether or not the latter was hiding something.

[He's lying.] Ivan thought after Dino said that nothing was wrong. [Something's definitely on his mind, but if he doesn't want to talk to me about it, I guess I shouldn't pry too much.]

"Okay, that's great," Ivan replied with a bright smile while also pretending to not have noticed anything wrong. "Anyway, how about we go on a date this weekend?"

Dino nodded and answered, "Yeah, sure. Where?"

"This time, I'll let you choose where you want us to go," Ivan declared eagerly. "So, where would you like to go?"

Dino thought for a few moments before asking, "Would an amusement park be fine for you?"

"Yeah! Sure! That would be awesome!" Ivan exclaimed excitedly.
