Chapter 22: The Center of the Island
Jake flies in the air looking over the island "Man..I was hoping for a dragon or something cool up here but it's nothing but huge eagles with scorpion stingers." He looks at his wristband and notices that the score hasn't moved in a while "I hope everyone is alright.."
He finally reaches the top of the mountain that is at the center of the island. Jake hovers aboves it and sees a huge storm above the four sections that divide the island in different biomes."This is a lot different up close..how did this even get done? Was it by magic or is this man made?" He casually dodges as lightning from above almost hits him. "This would explain such an extreme storm brewing." Jake yawns and lands down at the center of the island as he sees a huge colony of different monsters living in little huts all around the top of the mountain.
Jake looks around as everything is silent until he hears a deep voice behind him "Leave."
He turns around and sees a Rakshasa with some Goblin-like features holding a greatsword. Some other creatures with similar features start to run into their huts in fear. Jake smiles and puts his hands up "Hey..I mean no harm, but honestly i'm surprised."
The Rakshasa cocks his head "What do you mean?" he says not letting his guard down.
Jake puts his hands in his pocket "I thought it was going to be like a huge dragon or something up here...but it's just a village of people trying to survive, so i'll leave you be." Jake's smile leaves his face "Be careful though, there are some other people here and they won't be as nice as I am...oh! And I'm Jake Flash! Nice to meet all of you."
The Rakshasa gives a small smile "I am Iro, but I do need you to leave, as the guardian of this village I can't have my people being scared almost half to death."
Jake nods "I understa-"
Jake is interrupted by a voice coming behind him "Ah! Jake you beat me up here!" Jake's face is left speechless as he turns around and sees Scott standing there cracking his neck."
Iro readies his greatsword as more guards come out with swords and spears pointed at both Jake and Scott.
Jake nervously smiles at them "Hey..I don't know this guy." he says gesturing at Scott.
Iro scoffs "Then how does he know your name? Leave immediately before we have to use lethal force."
Scott smiles widely "Lethal?" he starts laughing loudly making the other guards intimidated.
Jake looks at Scott "Scott stop, they haven't done anything wrong… they are living here peacefully.
Scott turns to him, smiling still "Are you defending these monsters? They are nothing but cattle to the slaughter."
Jake puts his hands down and stares Scott down "How can you say that? They are nowhere near anything like cattle they might not be monsters bu-"
Iro roars and growls at them both "I SAID LEAVE!!" He charges towards Scott slamming his blade on to his neck.
Scott looks at the blade as it shatters and then at Iro punching him through a hut nearby "THAT'S MORE LIKE!" he says laughing.
Jake's eyes start to glow as markings appear on his arm "Scott..i'm giving you one more time to stop and leave."
Scott ignores Jake as he starts to walk towards the hut that holds the child like creatures.Iro stands up weakly "No..guards..get him!"
The guards rush Scott but Scott yells, knocking them all back.
Scott raises his fist at the hut but is unable to move his arm, he turns to look and sees Jake holding his arm glaring at him "I warned you." Jake says as he tosses Scott off the mountain top. As he dives towards him as he charges a blast in his right hand shooting it into scotts chest sending him hurtling towards the ground causing a small explosive.
The wristband on Jakes arm fills up halfway.
Scotts stands up with barely any scratches on him and gives a crazed smile as Jake lands in front of him. "Wow you really pack a punch huh? But as you can guess it..i'm not really a brawler, i'm a tank."
Jake stands up all the way "So a defense type?" Jake goes to punch him in the face but as it connects Scott doesn't even move Jake eyes widen "What?!"
Scott smiles and fades "Let me show you how to throw a real punch.." He slugs Jake in the face and sends him into the mountain. Scott runs into the mountain dragging and beating Jake down to steadily go up the mountain.Jake tries to block his punch but to no avail as he just breaks through all of Jake's defenses before finally upper cutting up to the top of the mountain to where Iro and the others are.
Scott hops up "Well..that was really disappointing." He grabs Jake by his hair and walks to the edge of the mountain top "See..I can't kill you, but they didn't say anything about feeding you to the monsters" He punches Jake in the gut multiple times before letting go and back handing him into the snow side of the island.
He turns around and sees Iro standing there with one of the unconscious men spears. "You'll have to get...through me-"
Scott interrupts him "Gladly.." he starts to beat Iro down into the ground making each punch harder and faster on Iro as he laughs maniacally.
Scott gets kicked on his side and sent sliding as Jake is floating in the air covered in blood. "You..are you sure if they are the real monsters?"
Scott smiles "Still alive..go-"
Jake grabs his face "Answer me." Scott grabs Jakes arm trying to move it, straining his arms as their veins begin to bulge.
Scott thinks to himself "What...I was just destroying him a minute ago..was he going easy on me?"
Jake lets his face go "Do you really think they are the real monsters Scott?...Do you even know what you do to these poor people..?" He says in a monotone voice.
Scott's smile leaves his face "People? They are nothing but trash beneath my feet...insects to crush."
Jake doesn't stop staring at him "I see.." he lays his hands on Iro and closes his eyes "Come Jaden lets see if i can take one from your book too…" He takes a deep breath as a white light starts to glow around Iro as he slowly begins to heal.
Scott roars Jake "Fuck this program...i'm killing you."
Jake stands up and gets into a stance "We'll see about that.."
