Chapter 28: The EverBurning Flame
The sand covers over Xander before the word can leave his mouth as the sand keeps piling on him.
Jaden runs out "He said tag! You have to face me now!" He says with his flames covering his body like an aura.
Bastet let's Amon get up and Looks at him "Oh? You're coming at us now? you're nothing but a healing type….What are you going to do…...Jaden?"
Amon leaves the arena as he limps behind the gate. "Drown them in the sand of our people Bastet!" Bastet laughs tossing Xander to the sideline. He lays there motionless
Amon removes his pinky ring placing it on his other hand, replacing his severed hand on his arm again and healing it. "That….almost ended badly.." he says with a smug smile "Thank you sister.."
Jaden glares at Amon and then at Bastet "You…" he starts to see himself get surrounded by sand.
Bastet looks at him laughing "You won't be able to do anything against me..you can do nothing but heal yourself…"
Jaden runs at her but gets smacked into the air by her sand landing on his arm CRACK! He feels his arm snap in two as he winces in pain, flames appear on his body as he stands up and his arm heals quickly.
Bastet laughs "you poor fragile boy, you should just forfeit and have a little bit of pride left bef-"
Jaden clenches his fist screaming at her "shut your damn mouth! You hurt Xander! So that means I'm going to have to deliver a world of hurt to you!"
Jake and Evie are watching with anticipation and worry "Jaden…don't do anything stupid." Evie says to herself.
Jake squeezes his seat so much that it starts to break. Claire places her hand on his "Calm down wonder boy, I'm sure your Jaden will do just fine." She says with a smile.
"How?" Jake replies
"I think the term tag team was taken a bit too seriously…" she leans in closer to Jake whispering in his ear
"I never said you could attack at once…" she says with a small chuckle.
On the other side of the arena , Scott's ear twitches as he gets a huge grin on his face "Ohhh oh oh isn't this fantastic news?"
Pravarasena looks over at him "What is it Scott?"
Scott taps his ear "Miss Claire just said you don't have to tag in or out in this match."
"Hmmm…interesting, good job Scott." He says in a calm voice.
Scott laughs "It's nothing! Just one of the many perks that my g-"
"-I don't care Scott" Pravarasena says as he continues to watch the battle, " it looks like it'll be over shortly."
Scott stands up looking down at Pravarasena as he thinks to himself "YOU'RE only a leader because I allow you to be…."
Pravarasena says not even looking at Scott "I'm sensing hostile energy from you Scott….do I need to put you down myself before our match?"
Scott scoffs and looks towards the arena "AMON!!! BASTET!! HEAR ME NOW!" He shouts as his voice booms.
Bastet stops what she is doing and looks at Scott "What does that snow beast want now?"
"YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CALL TAG I HEARD IT FROM CLAIRE HERSELF! END THIS FIGHT QUICKLY I'M GETTING BORED!" He continues to shout as Jake looks at Scott gritting his teeth
"That bastard!" He says as his eyes begin to glow.
Bastet smirks "I guess Scott isn't as useless as I thought-" as she turns she sees a fist
"HRAHH!" Jaden yells slamming his fist into her face sending her falling to the ground disoriented.
Amon looks in shock "Bastet!"
Jaden gets on top of her and begins to start slamming his fists on top of her head making her become even more disoriented.
Jaden gets a staff slammed against his side as he goes twirling back crashing into a wall, flames wrap around him as he instantly heals.
Amon looks at Bastet laying in a daze. "Bastet! Bastet! Are you okay?!" He says holding her. Rage fills his eyes as he has a flashback. Seeing a tall Pharaoh darkened by the rage in Amons very soul as he watches his sister Bastet get beaten by the pharaoh.
He rushes back to reality. "You…DARE LAY A HAND ON MY SISTER?!" Amon says looking up to see Jaden running towards Xander.
Amon's middle finger ring glows once more as he start to throw a barrage wildly and with barely any aim of fire balls towards Jaden.
Jaden turns with his eyes widened from seeing such an attack "Oh Sh-" a fireball hits him dead on erupting into flames. Jaden walks out with his body burnt to crisp and his clothes scorching as well.
He instantly heals himself and continues to run once more. Over and over again Amon continues to blast his fire balls with some of it even reaching outside the arena.
One heads towards Jake and Evie as they prepare themselves, Claire raises her hand as an energy spike shoots out exploding the ball of fire with ease.
Another reaches Scott and Pravarasena, Pravarasena remains calm and motionless watching the fight below paying no mind to the fireball heading towards him, as he barely moves his head dodging it completely.
It hits Scott dead on as he holds the fireball back "Nragh!" He grunts as he turns the fireball to ice freezing it completely. "You could've stop it asshole."
Pravarasena smiles unknowingly to Scott.
Jaden continues to run dodging and or healing from the fireball barrage. "FACE ME DAMNIT!!! YOU COWARD!!" Amon shouts at Jaden
He looks at Jaden then at Xander "You…heh heh!! You'll suffer the consequences of hurting my sister! I shall take the life of your friend! Now DIe!!" He shouts as he charges a huge fireball seemingly grabbing it as he throws it towards Xander.
Jaden reaches out "I just need to get close enough!"
"Come on!" He gets closer "come on!" "Do what you do best Jaden!"
He sees a small flame on Xander's shoulder "Heal!" The fire ball lands on him and explodes.
Jaden looks "Xander…?"
Two pair Green eyes glow through the black smoke. "Thanks Jaden…you're a lifesaver."
Jaden sees Xander wrapped in a flame stepping out of the smoke with the blade of his sword now a green glowing dragon.
"Miyamoto…let's show him why our clan is and forever will be the best." Xander says walking past Jaden.
"Ahhh shit you guys are done for now!" Jaden says getting up but quickly falling down "Oh…looks like I'm done for aswell heh…sorry for being a bu-"
"A burden? You're far from that Jaden, we're all glad to have you on our team…we'd be dead by now if it wasn't for you." Xander says, glancing at him with his glowing eyes.
Jaden sits back "Ah..thanks man."
Xander turns his attention to Amon breathing heavily "Tired? You should really-"
"SILENCE! You backwater shinboi! Just because you think you have came from such a prestigious clan that you're automatically better than me?! "
All of his rings begin to glow as he eyes turn into the of the sun, the broken parts of his beak reform but as fire, his legs erupt into flames with the color of the sun. "You…Xander Miyamoto…will be slain by my very hand! Then I will finally show it to Them! That I am fit to be King!"
"Ra…" Jake says, being impressed, "he looks very similar to the Sun God Ra…"
Evie looks at him "Of course your nerd self would know this! Was he in one of your video games?"
"I mean Yeahh I've played War of Gods before, he was one of the DLC characters from the Egyptian Pantheon Pack." Jake says with a prideful smile.
"Enough talking about games it looks like the match is going to finish soon." Claire says leaning forward is really interested in this fight.
Xander takes a deep breath and stares at Amon "Then let's settle this…" They dash towards each other and vanish out of sight.
Scott looks in the air "Now this is a fight!" He says with a smile "it's getting me all fired up!"
Pravarasena eyes looks into the air aswell "They are moving quite fast, but Amon has the advantage here…on top of the speed he has given himself, he has given himself increase strength,stamina, and his regeneration….and I'm not even including his Attack Type ability."
Evie looks up "I don't see anything but I can feel the shockwaves!"
Jake's eyes are watching them eagerly. "You got this Xander…don't let up."
Evie looks at Jake "How can you see what's happening?!"
Jaden stands up, his body shaking "Damn…I'm beat…" he looks up and sees nothing but the shockwaves. "Alright…Kick his ass Xander." He sees Bastet is unconscious across the arena. He makes his way over there to her.
Xander and Amon clash blade to staff and staff to blade! Xander backs away from Amon. He starts reaching for his scrolls but feeling nothing "they've been burnt to a crisp…" he looks at Amon "Let's finish this!" He takes a single step and is seen instantly in front of Amon.
Amon slams his staff into Xander's sword causing Xander to get pushed back "Insane…when we were clashing, I was getting pushed back more and more but it didn't look like he was putting in any extra energy."
He aims his sword at Amon "So that is your Type…Amplyfing the force of your attacks with swing."
Amon glares at him "Not quite..I can only apply a certain amount then it becomes stagnant…"
"What percentage has become stagnant?" Xander says getting back into his stance.
"Find out Shinobi!" He dashes at him, rearing his hand back, shooting a fireball straight at him.
Xander zooms behind him making Amon miss, but Amon quickly turns and zips towards Xander with increasing speed. "Damn! How can he anticipate my movements?"
Amon smiles "It's simple, I have the Eyes of the Sun, another gift given by the ring on my thumb I can anticipate my enemies movements…"
Xander laughs as he begins to vibrate "I'll show you what I can do with my type…" he makes clones of himself. "Shutter Step." Xander vanishes to Evie
"What?! He's doing that again?!" She says getting frustrated.
Jake stands up "Holy shit, I can barely see him…it's like he's disappearing and reappearing…every single clone as well."
Amon looks at him "Fine! I'll make sure I'll incinerate every single version of you!! You'll be turned to dust!" His middle finger glows with such intensity Amon is merely a shadow in the presence of his power. "GOOD BYE XANDER MIYAMOTO! YOU ARE FINISHED!"
Jake stands up but is grabbed by both Evie and Claire "Stand down wonder boy, if you interfere your group will automatically become disqualified.."
Jake looks at them then at Xander. "Bu-"
Evie squeeze him a bit "No buts Jake don't jump in. He got this."
Jake stops moving but continues to watch.
Amon swings the giant fireball "Ra's Sun!" He shouts, the clones tries their best to evade the mini sun being hurled towards them.
Xander dodges and gets swinged by the flame, but is instantly healed by Jaden, the flame that is wrapped around him slowly starts to fizzle out. "I have to finish him now!"
He zooms past the sun getting burnt and healed at same time "Armagh!" He says as the sun explodes
Evie puts up a barrier around herself, Claire, and Jake protecting them from the explosion.
Scott raises his hand as an ice wall protects them from the explosion as well.
After the explosion ends a flame remains in the crater inside the arena.
Xander stands there with his blade inside of Amon, Amon's body leans forward as blood drips from his mouth and pours out of his chest. His amputated hands lay on the ground.
Claire stands up "Xander and Jaden wins the first match!"
Scott shakes his head yelling back "Not yet! We still have Bastet! She'll avenge her bro-"
Pravarasena turns towards Scott "She is unconscious, therefore she lost Scott."
"What?! When!?" He searches the arena and spots Jaden holding Bastet.
Jaden looks over "Yo! While she was kinda loopy I choked her out to make sure she wasn't going to interfere!"
A medical team comes running out taking Bastet to the infirmary,while they bag up Amon.
Before they can leave with Amon, Claire raises her hand and stops them "Hey! Place him right over here!" She says patting next to her.
. Xander watches him get placed by Claire. as he cleans his sword. "I told you Amon…The Miyamoto Clan stands at the top." He sheaths his blade and walks out of the arena sitting next to Evie.
"Xander I would say you did good but I honestly couldn't see you." Evie says, patting his back.
"Heh..yeah I was going pretty fast…" Xander says a bit embarrassed.
Jake looks at him with excitement in his eyes "Yeah! It was insane! You were going crazy! You too Jaden!"
Jaden looks up as he walks up the stairs weakly "Huh? Me?"
Jake hops down and helps him up the stairs "Yeah most definitely! You were eating those fireballs"
"Pause!" Jaden says with a smile on his face "But thanks though I really appreciate it."
Evie brings Xander and Jaden in for a group hug wrapping her arms around their necks "Plus you didn't die! Good job guys!"
Scott and Pravarasena grab their gear on the cart. Claire raises her hands "Alrighty! Let the second match commence! Group please step on to the arena!"
Evie looks at Jake and nods "Let's go." They head over and grab some gear as well, Evie grabs a sawed off shotgun and an assault rifle.
