The Three Alliances - 2

"How was your date with Mark? You went to the beach, right?" Althea said as soon as Lanie came near her station. Lanie was slightly surprised at it.

"Who told you that?" Althea was taken aback at what Lanie responded to her.

"U-uhm, you said to me yesterday that you two are going out to eat lunch. Then, I saw Mark's post on his social media account. It was your picture near the bonfire and you were staring at the ocean." She answered and avoided Lanie's gaze.

"A-ah!" Lanie nervously laughed. Awkward. It was like she found her suspicious because she knew what and where she did yesterday together with Mark. Well, it was true but did she make it too obvious?

"Yesterday was fun. We enjoyed it. After all, that was our first time again to have that kind of bonding because you know, we have a busy schedule." She just smiled at Althea before they started to go back to our work.

The whole day went smoothly. Lanie is currently walking to their locker room when she sees Althea in a hurry packing her things. She noticed that she was talking to someone on her phone, the reason why she did not feel her presence.

"Yes, I'm currently fixing my things. I'll go there as soon as possible. Yes. Yes. Bye." When she ended the call, Lanie pretended that she was just about to come in.

"Let's go together?" she asked her. She felt she was being cautious around her. Why? Who called her?

"W-what? Where?" Lanie was not the one who was obvious here. It was her, Althea. Lanie tilted her head, "Uhm, going home, of course? Why? Would you like to go somewhere else?" she asked as she started to fix her things.

She breathed as if she was relieved.

'What are you thinking Althea? Who is the one on your side? Or is there someone ordering you?' Lanie wanted to ask.

"Maybe, next time. I have an important thing to do today. I'm going to go. See you tomorrow." She patted Lanie's shoulder before leaving.

After Althea left, Lanie quickly followed her. She left her car in the parking lot of the hotel. She just got a taxi and ordered the driver to follow Althea's car. If she uses her car, Althea will notice that Lanie was following her.

Lanie was biting her nail as she followed her track. After a while, her chest started to beat loudly as she saw the familiar road they were tracking. No. Please.

"Sir, can you please pull over?" her voice trembled as she spoke to the driver. The driver pulled over the taxi a little far away from where Althea parked her car. They were in a subdivision. A very familiar place to Lanie because she was once here… just months ago. She was here at Wang's Village.

'But, why is Althea here? What will she do here? Is she an ally of the Wangs, too? Is she with Mark?' There are a lot of questions bothering her.

She gasped when she saw a very familiar man approaching her. She covered her mouth- can't believe what she was seeing. Althea and Tyler were together. Tyler leaned on her, he whispered something to Althea that made Althea tilt her head and smile. Then, they entered a two-storey house. Lanie does not know what to feel. She has these unexplainable mixed feelings inside of her but the pain in her chest was dominant…and she doesn't know why.

She stayed there until it was already dark. They remained inside the house. She signed and looked at the driver. "Let's go." She commands weakly. She was silent the whole ride until she entered my apartment. She has no energy to eat that's why she goes straight up on her bed.

'Althea and Tyler. Are they together? Or Tyler just has an order to Althea about work? But why not call Manager Yra instead?' She thought while she felt a pain in her chest.
