The Only Witness

"What happened?" Lanie immediately asked Penelope. She checked her from head to toe, looking to see if she also has wounds or injuries. Luckily, she has none. The blood stains were probably from Althea.

"L-lanie…" Penelope cried on her shoulder. She was gripping tightly in Lanie's clothes and trembling.

Lanie hugged her back to calm her. She should not pressure her to tell what happened. She must calm down first so she could tell her what exactly happened and why Althea was in a critical condition right now.

She guided Penelope on the seat. Then, she got her phone and called Mark. Looks like she was the only one that Penelope called.

"Something happened to Althea. We are here in the hospital. And, can you please bring a pair of sunglasses? Okay. Thank you. Be careful." She sighed after she ended the call. Good thing Mark was still awake so he answered her call quickly.
