After the Gerpacio’s case was solved and due to Lanie’s wish, everything turned back into the right places. Lanie forgot everything that was connected to that massacre and also the people she met during those times. And vice versa.

The Only Witness

"Have you thought of it?" Lanie asked after a minute of silence.

"About what?" Tyler was still enjoying playing with her hands and hair. The night felt peaceful and calm with two of them just sitting together as they heard the beats of their hearts.

"If we met in a good situation, what would have happened?" she softly said. Tyler stared at their hands as he also thought of it. If they met in the same world, he was thinking how great that would have been. A simple and normal life, without extraordinary powers and bloody fights. If only that could be, he wouldn't fear anything, he could freely express his love to her all he wanted and she didn't have to leave and disappear.

"Hmm. Maybe, sometimes? But come to think of it, we already met in a good situation, baby." he answered. Lanie rose up a bit to look at him. Her brows were twisted. She was confused at what she said. Tyler smiled at her.
