Chapter 6: Worst Lie

"Zavien, take a look at this," I said while pointing at the bunch of gold bars that are placed in one room.

Zavien jaw dropped "This is gold bars, right?" we both widened our eyes. It's my first seeing a gold bar because of course, we don't have this at home. We're not rich.

"Why did they have this here?" he didn't even move since he saw these gold bars. "and why is this so many?" we stepped forward to have a look at the mountain of gold bars. When we are in front of the mountain of gold bars, he tries to touch it. After touching it, his eyes became widely open. "This is real!" he stepped backward while his mouth is half-open.

My mouth became half-open too "Really?" I can't even add more to what I want to say. But something pumps up on my mind. The person who was killed was near the door where gold bars were placed. Is it possible that this was the reason why he or she was killed?

Zavien fixed his round glasses and then he tries to take a gaze again at the gold bars. He even closed his eyes tightly and then open it again. He still can't believe what's in front of him. "I didn't know how to react right now, Bravery" he looks amazed.

I fixed my backpack "Me either" I said. I stepped closer to him. "But for now, we should find a way out of here" I remind. He nodded. We go out of that place and slowly closed the door. We should thank the engineer or architect for using a sliding door there.

We tour our gaze in every part of this museum. "Bravery, come here" I'm about to step my feet closer to him when he suddenly pulled my wrist. I almost stripped!

"Hey!" he chuckled. "Why are you laughing?" I said, closed on being mad. He didn't answer me. He just laughed over and over again. He pulled me again, he wants me to see something.

"Is this the secret exit way?" I asked. We are now in front of a not that big sliding door. "Let's see if it is the secret way" I pulled his hand. We both curved our lips into a smile. "Finally!" I scream in happiness.

In so much happiness, we hug each other. We were jumping in so much happiness. After a second, we realized our position. We were hugging each other! Damn, this is so awkward!

"I'm sorry" he looked down, he closed his eyes tightly. "Uh, should we go home? Uhm it's late" he scratched his head in so much awkwardness.

I also looked down, but I did not say anything. "Uh I will take you home?" he said but it sounds like he was asking me. "It is not safe now"

I smile but in a shy type way "Y- you can" I stutter. His cheeks become red a bit. He pursues his lips, stopping himself to smile. "So? Let's go?" He's still stopping himself to smile but this time, he can't stop it.

"You know, Sylvie" he looked at me while walking on the street "I am still shocked at what I have seen a while ago" His eyes were shining like the stars in the sky. He put his right hand on his pockets then his left hand ran through his hair.

"I am also still so shock right now! It's my first time seeing gold bars and it is not just one, but a mountain of gold bars!" I said in a very lively way.

He stares at me with amazing in his eyes. "Bravery, you have beautiful eyes" he complimented. I smile at him. "I think when you already achieved your dream as a lawyer, your opponent will freeze when he or she saw you. You have an elegant face!" he said with his deep as the ocean voice.

I smile "Thank you for appreciating me," I said. He's the only one who said to me that, in that way. I'm not saying that everyone should compliment me the way he compliments me. It is just it feels different. When someone appreciates you, no other things can replace the happiness that you feel.

"We are already in my house," I said when we are in front of the door. "You want to enter my house?" I asked he shook his head.

"I gotta go," he said then wave his hand. I watched him while he was walking far from me. Until now, I can't believe that I enter the museum even if I said I should not. I can't believe to see a mountain of gold bars, huge paintings, and a secret exit way. Not but not least, I'm not expecting him to be there too.

"I'm home, mom and dad," I said. They both stand up and kiss me on my forehead. They are now watching movies in our living room. I enter my room to change my clothes. I removed my backpack and find decent clothes. I choose my oversized t- shirt and a denim shorts.

"You went home late, where did you go?" my dad asked. My heart was beating so fast. I didn't know if I should say that I went to the museum where the crime happens or not.

I sat down on the sofa "Library, dad" I said "I need to do an advanced study" I lied. This is not my first time to lie on my parents but this I think this lie is the worst!

"Oh, okay," my mom said "But Bravery, make sure that you come home late because of study huh. You are not yet allowed to have a boyfriend!" she reminded me. I nodded.

For now, I have no plan on getting or having a boyfriend. I am focusing on my study, for my dreams. I want to be a successful lawyer in the far future. To win cases and to have a team. In school, I don't want to have a group activity, except for a hard one. But when it is a group of lawyers or prosecutors, I will gladly accept if someone invites me.
