Eventually, we arrived at my room, number 22 and found the door unlocked which meant that my roommate Innocent was already in.
"Shh!" I pointed out to my sleeping roommate telling Anna not to make a lot of noise.
I dropped my bag on my bed then went to my locker to retrieve her bag of chips. She keenly stood behind me her head peeping over my shoulder.
"You have those too?" she pointed at a pack of Shortbread biscuits.
"Would you like those too?"
"Yes Please" she whispered excitedly.
"Then some you shall have "I responded as we took the snacks and made our way out of the room.
It was then getting really late and I could tell that she had to get to bed. Earlier on I had managed to pick up a jacket for her from the room after I had noticed her slightly shiver.
It was then quiet around the campus even the nightingales had to retired to their nests at the point. The world outside only came down to the random sound of cars passing outside the campus.
We walked in silence as she pounced on my bag of chips. I watched the work of art in her comfort zone, not being able to help myself but to wonder how she drew comfort in my presence and how she able to let her walls down around me I always figured it is had something to do with my unthreatening demeanor.
"What?" asked Anna.
I had drifted off in my thoughts again.
"Nothing, I just think you can be kind of cute when you are hungry" I presented a smile back at her.
"and also, you have just finished my snacks now, so you have to call my mom to let her know"
My statement suddenly made her laugh, not so loud but enough for me notice her blushing cheeks.
"And say what? How would the conversation even go like and what if she asks who I was and why I was calling on her dear son's behalf of " she paused and stared at me.
"Well, I guess you better prepare a good speech beforehand. Fill out all those possible questions in advance" I replied with a chuckle.
We proceeded in silence and later on arrived at her door forcing me to halt in my steps.
"You are not coming in?"
"We have a ten am lecture remember?" I have to get some shut eye; you look like you need it more than I do actually"
She pulled in for one last goodnight hug and I held her beautifully symmetrical brain palace with my slightly shaky hands and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
I felt her freeze up in with my touch and as she pulled away, she muttered "you were a gentleman as usual"
"And you were the best company every guy dream of. Sweet dreams sleeping beauty" I said as I made my way down the hall.
In an instance, I looked back and she threw a flying kiss my way, I jumped in an act to cap the air then gently pressed it against my chest. I closed the act by giving her a comedic gentlemen's bow and in response she held her invisible gown in her finger tips and curtsey at me.
We briefly smiled at each other at a distance. Hands in my pockets, shoulders square I made my way down the hall and out of the hostel on my way to get some rest.
What an eventful day it had been I thought to myself as I slowly walked down the path towards "the Bermuda".
Outside the girl's hostel I passed a group of girls with their heads huddled together sharing a few light stories.
Their voices so low it still escapes me how they were able to hear each other even with their heads bundled up that close.
This was the life at the school these were familiar scenes I had now grown accustomed to over my frequent rendezvous with Anna. As I passed by the group, one of the girls looked up and I found myself warmly smiling at her before I proceeded about with my business.
"Hey Moron " a familiar voice beckoned me from behind as I approached "Bermuda" now heading down the path to my den.
"What now Bee" I erupted even before making sure if it was really Beauty calling me.
"You look all well and fine having a good night err?" She eyed at me inquisitively.
I instantly got the feeling that she had already figured out that I was with Anna and just merely wanted to rub her nose in my business.
She still made fun of me for being failing to get the girl I liked so much and having to settle for being her "Boy toy"
"Yes, I was with Anna not such a big deal, get off my case" I burst out at her. I was exhausted and weak and that always seemed to get me grumpy.
"You need to get some sleep boy; we'll talk in the morning" she said in her cool and calm and corrected voice.
I loved Bee so much being one of my closest friends and she understood me well and knew exactly how to do handle me at a time like that.
"Anyway, just wanted to let you know that the everyone was looking for you we had pizza and drinks but you were not answering your phone"
"We left a box for you with your roommate"
"Oh, thank you, I will see you tomorrow" I responded
I took off feeling the bags weighing down my eyes.
I pulled myself into bed socks on, hoodie over my head.
As I drifted off into my timely slumber the image comes back in my mind and it was the image of "the mystery girl" I saw her smiling at me back in the library.
In my mind it felt so real, the flashing light around her was blinding and everything else was cold and empty only her smile remained the sole trace of light in my dream.
It came to me again, that zero gravity sensation, my feet letting go of the ground as I her gravity pulled me closer to her sphere and I remained glued and paralyzed in my library chair.
Who was she?
