Chapter 10 #

On the other hand, Alex's father was also very worried after listening to the detective. He discussed it with his office colleagues. They tried to lessen his tension.

They said, " Mr. Marcus, every detective has a habit of doubting anybody, for them everybody is a suspect, so don't bother about it."

Then one of them, added and said to him as a joke, " That's right, Or Do you think, your son becomes a devil at night and goes to kill the people, or what!!?? Ha ha ha."

Everybody started laughing and Mr. Marcus also joined them. He became, somewhat normal and relaxed after listening to his colleagues' comments.

After some days, the state police chief called Edward to his office and asked for his opinion about the serial killing case. There was a lot of pressure from the higher ups on the police department in this regard.

Edward said to the chief, " Sir, I am scrutinizing every incident minutely, it is my opinion that the serial killer is not a normal human being, he is abnormal. Sir, please don't mind me saying this, I know no one would believe it, but in the sense that, this case doesn't look normal, it may be the work of a person who maybe possessed by some evil spirit."

Edward stopped for a while to look at the chief officer's reaction and he saw the chief was listening to his words with full attention. So he continued.

" Sir, many of our police are patrolling all over the localities, Streets, and every lanes, all through the night. The funniest thing is that we don't know how the killer enters a house, when there are so many police patrolling out.

And all the houses where the murders had happened, had strong grill gates, which, obviously remains locked at night, so how he opened the gate, or any door, and enter, effortlessly ? Is it not weird, sir?"

At that time, the chief said, " Ok, but maybe, in the previous cases, the victim's houses were not properly locked. That's why, the murderer was easily able to enter."

Edward nodded and said, " That maybe right, But sir, All of them... is it possible?. I mean, the first one can be the case, ok maybe the 2nd house too was not locked, but was the 3rd house too?? How is it possible that all the three houses, were not properly locked, that too, on the day of the murder. Such a weird coincidences, is it not sir."

The chief nodded and agreed to Edward's point. He too, thought it was strange, because, the police daily announced to the people to keep their houses properly locked, right after, the first murder itself, so how can the other two houses were not properly locked on the day of the murder.

Edward then added, " Also sir, Recently, there was a case, we had caught a killer, who used a bike to go to the victim's house to kill him, but in this case, we aren't able to find a single clue about how the murderer moves. Even in the crime scene, there were no single fingerprints. Not in the gate, doors or anywhere. Just think sir, how is it possible!!?

But, rest assured Sir, I am on the job, we will definitely catch him very soon."

The chief smiled and said, " Ok, Edward, then I'll be counting on you."

Edward bowed and walked out the office, with a face of determination.
