Fifteen

I took deep breaths then stood, going to my bathroom. I moaned at the pain that bloomed from my uterus then I shook my head, trying to force my legs to work.

"Get your ass back in bed!"

"I gotta pee!" I whined then Nyx sighed and came over, helping me to the bathroom.

"Crowe and Libertus should be back with pain killers soon, okay?" I nodded then he shut the door as I went to the toilet, happy to finally pee. As I left the bathroom, I smiled as Nyx lifted me then carried me to my bed, laying me down and covering me.

"Here, the heating pad." He put it on my stomach then I smiled as he brushed my hair back.

"Hell of a time together, huh?" I mumbled, but he grinned and leaned down, softly kissing me.

"And I intend to be with you for many more painful periods if I have my way." He said then I laughed.

"At the auction, I saw you talking to that old man. What did he say to you?" I asked then he smiled.

"'Sometimes, it takes a little heartbreak in order for our destined ones to be ready for us to love them'. He said that his wife got a lot of heartbreak before him, but they've got seven kids together now." He said and I nodded.

"So you-" I stopped as the pain got bad then he grabbed my hair, holding the trashcan to my face as I threw up again.

"We're back!" Crowe called as she came in, but I smiled as she handed me two pills and a soda.

"Drink up." She said then I did and smiled as I laid back in the bed.

"Gods, I probably look horrible." I said, but Libertus smirked.

"Nah, Crowe looks worse on hers. Ow!" Crowe slapped his arm and we laughed, but Nyx smirked.

"You look just as beautiful as always."

"Cheesy." Crowe said, but smiled at me.

"Captain Leonis was downstairs, he said to give you this." I took the ID then saw it was a Citadel badge, but for the photo, it was a picture of me that was part of a picture I had gotten with Nyx, even if his face was cropped out.

"You're on the Citadel's payroll now. Apparently the king likes your truth tactics." Libertus said and I smiled, happy to now be getting more money.

"Thanks, guys." I whispered then Nyx stood.

"You guys head to work, I've got the day off so I'll hang here with her." He said then the other two left and he turned to me, pulling his shirt over his head.

"What are you doing?" I asked then he smiled, going around the bed and getting in, laying behind me.

"Comforting you." He said and grabbed me, hugging me close. I smiled as his hand rested against the center of my hips, right over the spot where the pain was the worst, then I laid back on him.

"Thanks, Nyx."

"Your welcome, beautiful." He whispered and kissed my head, helping me fall asleep finally.

I walked into the training area then sighed as I rubbed the heels of my palms into my eyes, but Crowe and Libs came to me. I knew their steps by heart now.

"How is she feeling?" Crowe asked as I looked at her then sighed.

"Well, she was up before me this morning, walking around and everything. I'm hoping the pain killers help her-"

"Girlfriend having problems?" Xander, a new Glaive, teased as he and his friends laughed, but I glared at him.

"You would do well to watch your damn mouth!" I growled, but Crowe put her hand to my chest.

"Leave it, Nyx. He's a rookie, a couple days with you in the ring will set him straight." She said then Cor came in and partnered us up, but I ended up with Xander.

"Man, I heard your girl was an angel. Don't you worry, I'll get her to leave you for me. Just you wait." He taunted, but I jumped forward and punched his gut.

"Nyx!" A voice yelled, but I kneed his face and he hit the ground.

"Lesson one, rookie: Respect your elders and those who have more power than you. And just so we're clear, she's both. Her best clients are the king himself and the prince, she's friends with both of them, and she stopped Niflheim from destroying this city. So if you wanna taunt me, do so with something that actually scares me." I said then turned and relaxed as I saw Sorren standing there with a food bag. I went towards her as everyone stared, but she grabbed my arm and gave me a knowing smile.

"I brought you some of my tea and I made you some of the berry cake you like." She whispered and I nodded, grabbing both her upper arms, laying my head on hers.

"Nyx-"

"Swear to me that you aren't going to leave me." I whispered, but when I looked at her, she was giving me a smile.

"Destined to be together, right?" I nodded then she moved up to her tip toes and softly kissed me, making me relax some. She lowered down to stand on her feet fully then smiled.

"I swear, that kid is nothing but a brat." She said and I laughed, setting the bag down on the table next to her.

"How are you feeling, huh?" I asked as I held her hips then she shrugged.

"I've been able to work all day, and make you a berry cake and tea." She said then I nodded, sighing as I held her tighter.

"The prince is going to get married, he invited all of the Kingsglaive there." I said and she smiled.

"Well, behave, and maybe I'll go with you." She said then I nodded.

"Go back to the shop, I'm sure you have a lot of work." I said then she nodded, but held my cheek and made me look at her.

"Nyx, go easy on him. Remember, there was a time when you were a young cocky bastard who didn't respect anyone. You don't care for formality still, but now you've seen war and you've lost your cocky edge. He needs someone who's been through it to teach him, so that he doesn't become Drautos or Tredd." I nodded then leaned down and kissed her, happy to get this moment with her before all this chaos of the prince's wedding came to the Citadel.
