19 ~ A Breakthrough {Unedited}

Jason kept an eye on everything inside of his body. For around ten minutes nothing changed, after forty he could start to feel as though his Bones, Arteries, Soul Gateway, and Divine Spirit Core were full.

His sense of the energy around him had gotten to the point where he could feel all the different energy he was absorbing around 100 meters around him. It was so vivid it was almost like he could see them layered over below reality as he looked around the grand hall he was in.

He felt them flow past him from the base of the tower, he could sense he was only capturing a small stream of that updraft. He felt like he needed more pressure though for some reason, so he tried calling out to it, pulling in more of it.

More streams separated from the flow rushing in through his eyes at a faster rate, the Divine Spirit Core's runic petals opened wider to accommodate for it on its own. The Divine Spirit Core felt full but as more energy streamed in than what the rest of him could absorb maxed out.

His excess base essence poured out of his core spirit rune filling the space inside the runic lotus petals. The walls expanded, reaching twice their original diameter. Energy stopped pouring out the other side.

The pressure built and built, but he still felt like he need more pressure, he wasn't in any pain, but the odd feeling of even his bones being bloated wasn't exactly comfortable either. Then reaching four times its original size it stopped expanding. The 60 runic petals slowly glowed brighter over a few seconds, the core slowly started compressing. Many fine threads of his base essence slowly squeezed out a tiny hole on the other end to reconnect to his bones and soul gateway.

Once they made contact with all the bones in his body, he started to feel every ounce of energy in him repel those thin strands but even if he wanted to stop them he wasn't exactly in control anymore so they continued to enter on their own authority.

Pain had finally arrived with this, the pressure in his bones quickly turned from the bloated feeling to as if he was shoving thousands of pins and needles inside each one.

-"You're breaking through to the next stage, keep doing as you are don't let up or the attempt will become a failure once you do.'-

Hearing his words, he focused on pulling more strands out of Divine Spirit Core, each one opened the whole wider and released the mounting pressure he felt in his skull fade a little.

These new strands of Base Essence felt much more concentrated, but it wasn't just that either. The new strands weren't within his control either, they started reaching out towards his Soul Gateway. The first strands began to enter its core ring in a vortex, as they seeped in from all sides the Soul Essence in it's ring began to burn on contact. It felt as though his thoughts were on fire this time.

In the wake of the reaction, it released a much smaller amount with a similar change to that of this new base essence, much more concentrated. Same took place within his bones and marrow, their density was growing. He just couldn't pay attention enough to see it happen all his focus was on pulling more of those strands out of the Divine Spirit Core.

In all of them the new energy they produced seemed to be around double that before within the same space and rate.

The process continued until his Divine Spirit Core shrank back to its original size, and none of the previous base essence or any of its derivatives produced elsewhere remained.

The distance he could sense the different energies around reached 200m once he could focus on something else again.

Once everything seemed to have calmed down the infinity symbol at the center of his Soul Gateway lit up. The six runes flashed on its borders, a hollow revolving channel of his new Soul Essence itself began to reach out to the band of the same runes around his Divine Spirit Core. Once it had the infinity symbol flashed a couple shades brighter for a moment.

A small beam shot from its connecting to the infinity rune, the beam then split connecting to the infinity symbol at the center of both his eyes. The line that down dashed through the center of both infinity symbol turned bright white on contact. The revolving channel of soul essence split connecting to the runic bands around his eyes.

His eyes felt like they would explode any moment out the front his skull once they did. He had the feeling if he didn't open his eyes they really would so he did. When he did the overstimulation was ridiculous, he saw at least twelve overlapping visuals of the same view all fundamentally different in a way. A few he couldn't even see the details of room. If he didn't see strange patterns flowing where he knew the walls are, and thousands where the the sword of the citadel itself was, he wouldn't have known they were a visual of the room at all.

Opening his eyes released the pressure enough for him to realize that beam of light streaming from the center of the gate wasn't just his Base Essence but actually streams from his true body inside the gateway.

His eyes continued devouring that energy his connection to the world felt weaker while the visuals he was seeing became more vivid, and even more visuals started to appear in his mind overwhelming him further.

Once he thought he was about to lose control and perception over the physical world, his eyes stopped, pulling in more energy from the beams of his True Base Essence, and the channels stopped revolving.

The dash in either eye began to release that energy into the rest of his each of his pupils, they seemed to somehow grow darker absorbing light around them. The Energy in either infinity symbol shaped pupil started rotating cyclically through them in reverse directions, mirroring one another.

The channels of soul essence began to flow in reverse towards the Soul Gateway. The Beams of True Base essence, started to flow in reverse but once the two streams collided at his core rune it changed to a reverse tug of war match. The beam from the gateway rejected and pushed against his core rune, trying to prevent the energy reaching back to it.

Slowly the beam from his core rune stared to push back the other beam, a new pain slowly overcame him, it wasnt physical from the nerves in his body but it felt as if his existence was eating itself.

But as it pushed closer and closer the pain grew but his connection to the physical world started to return with ever bit it pushed.

Finally pushing all the way to the center of the gateway he felt himself explode cutting the connection and forcing him back into the infinity Archive

-"Congratulations on your first breakthrough, you've reached rank 0:0:2. Before you make any comments to me experiment with the results yourself. Take a trip inside the Infinity Archive for a start."-

-"Actually I'm already there."-

-"Oh!? I actually cant tell you seem to just returned to meditation after and your mind doesn't show like the soul gateway absorbed it again when you entered before. Also obviously, I can't see the image you see at all inside. Even when you replied it came directly from your mind and not the gateway"-

Sending a bundle of information through the soul link Oberin was silent for a couple moments.

-"I have too many thoughts on all the possibility's, I'll take it a step at a time rather than overwhelm you. Also I thought you could tell but once you broke through many subtle changes have flooded the rest of your body."-

The core of the Infinity Archive floated in the middle the same as ever.

-"Try collecting some comprehensions."-

It appeared like a starry night sky, many questions had been asked as everything transpired some appeared very far in the distance.

-"Oh, one thing to note is that the comprehensions now all have streams from the core rather than the gate. See?"- Sending another pulse through the soul link.

-"Instead of trying to do as you did before converting your Base Essence into Soul Force on the spot. Use your Soul Essence in the Soul Gateway to produce it, pull it to the core of the Infinity Archive and then try and connect it to the Comprehension."-

He summoned the soul gateway, drawing much more soul force than he could produce from his Base Essence at once. It rushed into the the core, filling it, then pouring it out towards one.

He felt the context to which he was about to learn was when he started questioning the purpose of the Soul Gateway during Oberin's long winded explanation of his observation of his new body. Other than that he felt strangely where it was, at around 100km away.

Pouring Soul Force into it made it approach around 500m/s at its best. He kept at it for around 3 minutes at that speed it arrived and with it a flood of knowledge entered as the core this time refined the wisp directly.

It almost felt like he was flooded with instincts. Uses for the Soul Gateway filled his soul.

-"My Soul Gateway is the bond between my true body here and my body there. The Gateway is a solidification of a fusion between my True Base Essence (A/N: His True Body), Base Essence and Soul Essence. When I'm in my body out there my true body moves into the ring fusing with it and thus my brain out there.

But the Gateway can also bring my true body into my physical body. Only about 80% of me can fully merge at once, but I basically do the opposite when I'm in here. 90% of my true body separates from the Gateway, thus my connection to the physical world is incomparably weak.

But after the breakthrough it seems that 10% left has around double the capacity and its a little different feeling than before its overall more efficient it seems as well

But infusing it with my whole body should allow me to have an almost perfect connection to the physical world. My ability's could be magnified seemingly an infinite amount supplied with enough base essence available with my true body.

The Soul Gateway will also refine and compress my true body like I did instinctively before copying the oceans flow pattern.

It's only fundamentally different and much more efficient, apparently than doing it on my own outside, its like a cocoon for my growth.

I didn't get much information about that reaction between my Eyes, Divine Spirit Core, and Soul Gateway but I know that they can form a direct connection. I think it might be a way to more efficiently use my True Base Essence to see and not just base essence. With my new eyes base essence can be used to alter the range and shape of my absolute vision.

Before I had my body, I could only see by letting out burst of Base Essence or making constant contact using my True Base Essence an make contact and then return to me. Later when I gained my body I could overlap my vision from my eyes and project overtop of it doing the same thing. This is a much easier way, my Base Essence true or not never actually has to be manipulated directly.

The dash through the center of the infinity symbol in my pupils emits the light and the infinity symbols pulls it back. After the breakthrough they naturally now absorb light and energy and refine it into my True Base Essence in small amounts trapping it in a cycle, they seemed to do this before just I didn't notice it until now that its stronger but that's why my pupils are infinity symbols; however, it's very surprising because even my Divine Spirit Core can't produce it despite the core rune being made of it and same with petals that surround it, when I tried it just would output Base Essence."-

As he made that conjecture one of the comprehension stars distance was reduced by almost half, it was around 300 thousand kilometers from the Infinity Archive's core just prior.

Noting that and pouring a few small streams of soul force into them, he learned it was regarding the connection between his eyes, The Divine Spirit Core, and the Soul Gateway. Given it's new distance it would still take him around 83 hours to pull it in.

'Maybe that will teach me about the runes surrounding them too, if I'm thinking about this right it should take me a couple days but I think it would be worth it'

-"Oberin, apologies to cut our chat short but is it alright if I refine this comprehension? I'll need to refine it for about 83 hours. I can't do it in one go since pulling one 100 kilometers took about a quarter of the Soul Force from my Soul Essence. But Cycling between recovering and refining the comprehension I could finish in about a week if not a little earlier."-

-"I'd say you'd do better to improve your cultivation first to be able to do so faster, but I don't want to rush things. I avoided mentioning it before for my own selfish reasons not to disturb your mind further, before preforming something so risky. But you should take some time to think about everything and digest it, I understand your not entirely bound to your human emotions but they're still important to pay attention to.

The trauma you just experienced would have debilitated even myself for much longer than a afternoon. I know you're used to seeing humans lives taken, lost, and born, but the lose of your parent's I think is effecting you more than you want to think about. You should take sometime to grieve and appreciate their lives.

Even I couldn't help but feel respect towards your parents, despite your distinct physical differences from even them they never doubted you their child for even a second. They never saw you a monster as many other marked you off as on first glance. They did well to shelter you from the hate without making you oblivious to it. For two people who knew nothing of parenting until you they more than rose to the occasion.

A word of advice pseudo-immortal to immortal, learn to treasure those you come to love in both life and death. They are the people who help forge and shape both, who we are, our reality, every second we breath is another they still exist within us. Also just because you lose someone doesn't mean you can't keep learning more from them or about them, especially you.
