Mila's POV:
Why does everyone around me betray me?
"I thought you were my friend." She just chuckled.
"Not at all. You're a very naive little girl. I might just keep you around as my personal pet, along with Emma here. We'll see, though." I was absolutely disgusted. She didn't pay me any mind after saying that and focused back on Emma.
"Willing or forcibly. The choice is yours, Emma." I feel pain radiated throughout my body. Emma looks at me, conflicted. I know she wants to save me, but I can't let her do that.
"Emma doesn't do it." I saw tears coming to her eyes.
"She'll kill you." I felt tears come to my eyes as well.
"It's okay. My life in exchange for billions." Soon I felt the sickening cracks of my ribs. I screamed out in pain; Emma tried to rush towards me but was held back by an invisible force. I started coughing, and all that came up was blood. My breathing was exponentially becoming abnormal. I couldn't catch a viable breath.
"Emma, fight. Don't let her win. I love you." I felt so cold and fatigued. I knew my fate, and I accepted it with open arms succumbing to the darkness.

Emma's POV:
After Mila said those words, she dropped fully to the ground, eyes completely shut. I could hear her heartbeat weakening.
"No." I gasped out. I felt all my emotions channel into pure rage. I turned towards Adeline, and I could feel my vampire side take completely over. This witch is dead.
I immediately got inside her head and was able to get to drop the hold on me. I was finally able to move my limbs. I took the chance while I still had her mind fogged and attacked her, throwing her yards away from where we were standing.
There aren't very many ways to kill an immortal witch or soulless vampire. I've never dealt with a hybrid of both, but I do know that both have two things in common of how to kill them: Immortal fire, which can only be summoned by a high-level witch, or have their heart impelled by an object with or laced with the blood of a pure person. I definitely can't summon an immortal fire, I can't use my blood since I am no longer pure in any manner, but I could obtain Mila's blood on my knife. I hope this commonality works.
I immediately ran towards Mila and got some of the blood from her arm on my knife. The heart was weakening by the second. Shit, I need to hurry. I turned to head back to where I had thrown Adeline, but she was longer there. She was inches away from her blood-red eyes showing ferocity. I was thrown back with a grunt, the knife being thrown out of my hand.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. You truly are stupid and naive, aren't you?" She teleported and was picking me up by the collar of my shirt in the blink of an eye.
"I no longer have any patience. You're dead." She brought me back over to the portal.
Soon I was immobile once again; I could barely move my eyes to watch what she was going. Her fingernails elongated, and her smile turned wicked. She brought them up to my neck.
"Don't worry, Emma. It will only hurt a lot." She broke into demented laughter. She dug her nails into my neck and started slicing across. She didn't cut into my throat that deep, just enough to cause an immense amount of pain and blood flowing down my neck. Just because I'm immortal doesn't mean I can't be killed; fire, anything to the heart, anything to the neck. And the way her fingernail started to dig deeper as she got close to my juggler and the way she placed her hand on my chest right where my heart is, has me very concerned.
"To kill you, or to not kill you. Such a difficult decision, but then again, it's not. Now that I have your blood, you really are of no use to me anymore. Making you become my personal pet sounded good there for a little bit, but your disobedience will lead me to kill you as I did to your mate. Goodbye, Emma." I closed my eyes, preparing myself for the end, when I felt myself drop to the ground. Adeline's eyes were huge and black blood started pouring out of her mouth. Soon she dropped to the ground dead.
I looked up to see Mila standing there with a nice in her hand. She became wobbly and started falling to the ground, but I jumped up and caught her in my arms.
"Mila, I thought you were gone." She looked up at me and gave a small smile as her eyes rolled to the back of her head.
"No! Come stay with me." I laid her on the ground. I don't know what to do. I can turn her, but I don't even know if that's what she wants. I can't let her go; I'm too selfish. I'll beg for forgiveness later. I know now exactly how Lance felt.
"I'm sorry if this isn't what you want, but I can't let you go." and with that, I bent down, and I bite into her neck, releasing the venom to change her. Nothing happened. I waited for what felt like years, but nothing happened. She's gone. I just collapsed into her chest and sobbed.
"God damn it, Mila. Please fight. Come back to me. Please." I propped up and just kissed her lips. Hoping that fairytales could be true just this one time, that a miracle would happen.
I started to feel the warmth radiating throughout my body and a heartbeat inside my chest. I sat up fully and looked down to Mila to find color coming back to her cheeks. I placed my hand on this of her cheek, rubbing it endearingly with my thumb. Soon her eyes shot open, and I saw the blackness with bright red specks glowing; I could hear heartbeat powerfully. She's alive, well in a sense. She brought her hand up to cup my face as well, and I just leaned into her touch.
"I fought." I felt a tear make its way down my cheek, and she immediately wiped it off. I opened my eyes to find her brown eyes glowing with life and love.
"Is this real?" I questioned if this was a dream or not or just a figment of my imagination. She just smiled, making my heart skip a beat.
"I'm here, my love." I smiled back at her and bent down to kiss her.
"I love you," I said, a few more tears going down my face. She sat herself up, grabbed both sides of my face, and brought me into a passionate kiss. She's intoxicating. She pulled back and placed our foreheads together.
"I love you, too, forever." She breathed out. I'm never going to let this woman go; I will cherish her now and forever.
