Even a newbie like Gwen managed to hurt their leader, it was Slavica that they were talking since she came from a very old time of legends or myth were being made. She was the first and only human to transcend into a very unexplainable legend that never been written along with the legendary stories of the Camelot. She was the first elite creature that has been recruited by the Death Inspector Protocol because she was the first chosen human of the stone tablet of Excalibur. She was known as the…
"Oh! Here it comes…" Yui was totally excited to see their boss in her real action.
"The one and only…" Tacker couldn't agree more since there was indeed excitement as well in his tone.
"Triquetra Sheath." Irina called the code name of their boss and leader of their elite team.
When they uttered her alter ego's name from the DIP, the dust from the impact of being thrown away finally subsided and a new person came out to play from within Slavica. It was still her but the only difference was, she was deadlier than earlier but Gwen didn't feel anything from it. There was no threat for her yet Gwen didn't let her guard down and held her zone as the Ghamidi or the Triquetra Sheath, Slavica vanished without any blink of an eye.
But even Slavica managed to do that, Gwen, on the other hand, managed to block her attempt to punch directly aiming her face. Due to that sudden impact, the ground around Gwen began to be dug out as the intense pressure came out from Slavica pinning her on her spot. But the growing side of Gwen was not showing any hard time dealing with the pressure that Slavica was releasing.
"Nice but I wonder how long you're going to last." Slavica was cold and sounded like she was taunting Gwen to give up as they kept exchanging hard and intensify blows.
"Better to say that to yourself." Gwen confidently countered as she was totally matching Slavica's speed and power that none of her team could ever match up better than Gwen can.
"I already exceed my limitation long before we meet. But you, you just learned what lies inside of you." Slavica gave a very strong sidekick before doing it with a right roundhouse kick followed by a lower uppercut punch toward Gwen's abdomen. But Gwen either blocked or caught every blow that came from Slavica.
"Or maybe I already know about them but didn't have any guts to own it…till now." Gwen answered as she began countering each attack that came from Slavica. But each of her attacks toward her opponent was all doubled up with her blood flame that almost Slavica didn't notice.
"Better to say it that way but it's too soon." Slavica firmly told her and released a powerful punch that made Gwen fly for a couple of meters since the trees began to be smashed as she back landed on them.
Even though Gwen was being flown away, she still managed to control her energy flow and inverter the energy that came from Slavica. She used those energies to cut the trees down before her body could land on them. Gwen stood without receiving too many wounds from it and the powerful energy that came out from her, made the whole team shocked out of their surprise. Nobody can do that except her, Gwen who just cracked up her stiff neck before looking at Slavica with such emptiness. Slavica couldn't read her all of the sudden.
"She's indeed strong. If she exceeds to be that powerful, then I have to bring that light." Gwen muttered to herself as she channel the energy that came from her opponent who was already charging her way.
To Gwen's sight, everything went into slow motion and with one blink of her eyes, her aura drastically changed the air movement around them. It was moving counterclockwise and Gwen's aura shifted and quickly released a new air in a clockwise motion. It made Slavica suddenly halt charging as her eyes went wide and moved a couple of feet away from Gwen's spot. She couldn't believe what Gwen was suddenly attempting to do. She was already doing something without asking for anyone's help.
"Are you planning to exceed already? Not this time." Slavica was about to charge again but before she could even make a step, there was already something stopping her.
Slavica looked around her body and there she noticed what Gwen suddenly managed to sneak around her. The bloody flame was already wrapped around her ankle and legs just to prevent her from charging toward her.
"Clever mate." Slavica praised but even though she was proud of Gwen, she has to stop her before her body breaks apart.
Slavica might be trying to save her but something began to flick in her mind when the memory of her lost queen suddenly showed up. She didn't like what suddenly flickered through her mind as she gritted her teeth from seeing the same thing that was happening to her. Back then, she couldn't save or even saved her queen but not this time.
"Move!" Slavica groaned as she was trying to break free from what was binding her. She has to move to save her. She must go to her. She must be with Gwen.
But it was too late. Something was already happening to Gwen as her energy was already shifted. Gwen's energy and the energy she got from Slavica were merging already as one. As she felt the merging completed and there were no flaws, she concentrated them into one point and her bloody flame finally took the form as Gwen's tail. She kept doing that channeling; her blood flame tail looked like a bloody fox tail with red lightning bolts around it then an image began to flash in her mind. The energy was taking its form, the bloody flame around Slavica's ankle finally released her, and then Slavica quickly charged on Gwen.
"Gwen." Slavica called through her mind as she went charging at her.
Gwen saw her and with their power pointed in one direction, another impact made the entire woods radiate in such power. It made the birds and some leaves fly around violently and both of them stopped on their spot. Slavica was about to hit Gwen's abdomen when very sharp and bloody daggers pointed at her neck as well to her heart. Slavica couldn't believe it as she drastically went back to being calm side of hers when a newbie, Gwen managed to corner her; a checkmate. She was even stuck on her ground and couldn't move freely once again because she knew that with one false move, she'll die. Gwen pointed her bloody dagger at the vital parts and Slavica's body was no exception from it.
"I know that there's a lot of things I need to know. But don't underestimate what I'm capable of reaching now that I am trying to be one with myself that I didn't know that it exist until I was awakened and found by you." Gwen seriously understands that she still needs to learn a lot but she doesn't need any discouragement around her. Especially, if it was coming from Slavica.
"Just have faith in me and what I can do, Ghamidi, or should I still call you Vica?" Gwen finished as she stared deeply into Slavica's orbs.
"Either it stills me." Slavica answered as Gwen let go of the bloody dagger that quickly vanished in thin air as well her bloody flame fox tail. She couldn't believe that Gwen manages to control her power in a very short period of time but at the same time, she was worried about something.
"Well, you did surprise me with your quick improvement which I think they would like to try as well." Slavica might be smiling at her but in the back of her mind, she was still worried about the wavering heart of Gwen.
Gwen was still not fully back on her feet after what just happened to her life and the changes occurring to her all of the sudden. But Slavica knew that Gwen will manage to claim herself back at the right time and when that time comes, she knew as well that she'll be there beside her.
"Oh…" Gwen only managed to react once she saw the eagerness and excitement of Slavica's team.
"Yep, oh. But don't worry, not tonight. Your body still needs rest and I have to smack their heads since I appointed some task to them and here they are watching us train instead." Slavica ruffled her already messy hair from what they'd just done around the woods. Good thing there was no one around since it was the private land of the DIP organization though they were still far from the main quarters.
"Don't be hard on them." Gwen informed her as both of them walked back to the cabin where the others began rushing back inside to do what they had to do. They were afraid of what their leader might give them as their punishment for neglecting their assigned task.
"I have to since we have to clear the duchess's death and find the connection to your adoptive parents' death. Also, we have to train you – I mean, I have to train you very well." Slavica reminded Gwen about the cases that they have to deal with that's why she has to be tough on her team.
"Right but I think I'm gonna give it up…I mean finding the real reason for their deaths. I mean, they were already gone and it's up to me how would I handle it." Gwen calmly informed her about the issue that she has with her adoptive parents. It was indeed up to her how she will handle it whether she'll stick to what she knew about their deaths or if she learned that it was plotted on killing them.
For now, she'll be focusing on how to get strong – strengthening herself so she could finally stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Slavica. She really felt something just being around Slavica and it was containing a very great impact on her. She wanted to change for the better. She wanted to be better than she used to be and if this was the way was given to her to do that, she will grab it.
"Nicely said. You're maturing." Slavica teased which earned her a playful slap over her arms.
"Hey! The way you said it as if you're telling me that I am not an adult." Gwen sounded like she was whining about what Slavica just teased her. But she just giggled at it since she understood that Slavica has no ill intention of saying that to her.
"Well, you are but you are still a kid from the heart. Fragile lady." Slavica added to her tease but Gwen did not take offense. She already knew to herself that she was indeed a fragile one and Slavica stayed even after knowing that and she was willing to wait for Gwen.
"Fine, so better to take care of my heart." Gwen countered that it surprised Slavica since she had never would have thought that Gwen will say that directly to her. She indeed feels her need.
"Are you sure that you want me to take care of your fragile heart? I mean it's heavy baggage." Gwen stopped walking ahead since Slavica stopped already when she asked.
"Don't want it to take care of it even though I am offering it already to you?" Gwen answered with a question formed which made her smile. She might scratch the back of her head as Gwen found it cute but Slavica took Gwen's hand before saying something.
"Well, it will be my honor to keep it nicely safe with me." Slavica took a respectful bow as she kissed the back of the hand Gwen that she was holding.
"You better be." Gwen raised Slavica's chin just to let their eyes meet.
"You I know I will because you won't be offering to me if you don't trust me with it." She smiled as she stood up and started walking side by side with her.
"Indeed." Gwen chuckled as she wrapped her arms around Slavica as they kept walking back to the cabin. Slavica hoped that her team managed to collect what she appointed them or else she'll be giving them a painful punishment later.
As the two were taking their time on their way back to the cabin, both of them not speaking anymore as they were just savoring the silence swirling around them. It made them smile since it was very memorable training and the vibe around them was something they both longed for so long in their silent heart. They were taking everything to the point that a melody began on resonating around their mood. It surprised them since the melody was totally familiar which made them savor even more the moment they were having just the two of them.
"Gwen, did you hear that melody?" Slavica carefully asked since she was not sure if Gwen could hear what she could since the woods was too quiet.
"Hm?" Gwen was caught up with her question.
"The melody, can you hear them because I do?" she repeated since she could hear them clearly.
"Ah, it's called One Love by Acel Bisa and yes, I could hear them very clearly." Gwen answered while smiling warmly at her and it was making Slavica feel really warm to the bottom of her heart.
"Higher than the sky above you
Clearer than blue
Brighter than the rays of sunshine
Warmer than what you feel
More than all the wonders you see
It's the most wonderful thing…" Gwen suddenly sang the song that they were both hearings which surprised Slavica while smiling.
