Chapter 24: The Glimpse Queen’s Memories

When that part of the song began on getting into something, a sudden and loud thud echoed around the woods. It alarmed Gwen which made her heart swell and tears began to fall again.

"Please…hear me, Vica…my Triquetra Sheath…wake up." Gwen muttered as she touched Slavica's broken and hideous face with such love and care as she hoped that she'll wake up.

Hearing the broken sound from Gwen, Slavica's breathing came back first and after a few seconds, her heartbeat follows. Breathing came at ease and a heartbeat came to life that made Slavica's eyes flutter which only to be greeted by a crying Gwen.

"Hey, don't cry, I am here. I am not going anywhere away from you." Slavica quickly gets up from lying on the ground and reaches out her hand to caress Gwen's face lovingly.

"Who's fault was it?!" Gwen cried even though she was trying to wipe them away but tears wouldn't stop from falling.

"Sorry…" Slavica smiled as she apologized sincerely for what just happened to her and wrapped her arms around her.

"You scared me." Gwen cried even more but she was glad that Slavica was alive and back in her arms. She doesn't want to lose her as she hates that idea at.

"Sorry, it won't happen again but you did it." Slavica sincerely apologized again but at the same time, she was totally proud that Gwen managed to pull it out without any assistance from anyone.

"Did what?" she didn't get what she was trying to say to her which Slavica understood well.

"Healing me." She answered her as she couldn't help but to looked happy and proud at her.

"Who else do you expect to heal you?" Gwen arched her eyebrow as she teased Slavica about that.

"No one but you." She chuckled as she saw some happiness flicker in her eyes once again.

"Much better." Gwen chuckled as well as she get up and stretched her hand out to Slavica who didn't hesitate to take her hand and stood up in front of her.

There was a bit of silence as they both get up back onto their feet until Slavica noticed something around Gwen. She looked at her carefully which made Gwen roll her eyes to hide the fact that she was feeling embarrassed to be stared at by her crush.

"What?" Gwen breaks the silence as well her blushing cheeks.

"Nothing, just wondering if you feel anything?" Slavica shrugged her shoulders while she was still studying Gwen's energy flow swirling around her.

"What does that mean?" she asked instead of answering. She was just puzzled by what Slavica was trying to say to her.

"What I'm trying to say was how does it feel now that you're awakened?" she cleared what she was trying to say while Gwen's energy flowing around her was making Slavica wonder.

Gwen looked at herself when she clearly heard that. She looked both of her hands to her arms and even down to her toes but she felt nothing odd that happen to her entire body. She felt nothing changed that made Slavica chuckle. She found her movement cute which made her grab both arms of Gwen to make her stop moving for a moment.

"Nothing changed. I guess?" Gwen finally gave her answer to her after checking if there was something indeed changed in her.

"Are you sure?" Slavica pressed if that was the real case made Gwen couldn't help but to stared back at her. She could see that Gwen was glowing even though it was faint.

"Yeah, I'm sure apart from the glowing small sword that you used earlier." She gave her honest answer to Slavica but there was also she wasn't sure about. She was wondering about the sudden appearance of a small sword or dagger that Slavica used a few moments ago.

"I am not sure about your awakened glow just yet but I will tell you if I know more about what just happened here. But in the meantime, let's head back and have some rest. We can continue your training tomorrow." Slavica just said then changed the subject since she was not sure if what she was thinking was the truth. But in case it was, she'll be glad to inform Gwen about it and since she was not, it was better to save it for later.

"Eh, I thought we were proceeding on my training?" Gwen suddenly whined that Slavica couldn't believe what she just heard. Yet, she found it amusing.

"Since when training got you excited?" Slavica amusingly asked Gwen who playfully thought about it before answering.

"Just now?" she teasingly answered.

"You really want to kill me, don't you?" she only managed to comment which made Gwen giggle.

"Nope. Not at all." Gwen defended while giggling and started stretching her stiff body from what she suddenly did that awakened her.

As they were about to go back to the cabin, Slavica waved her hand to her team who immediately went to the burned-down chimera. They began checking what made the creature to roam around the protective barrier around the cabin's perimeter.

"Do you think it has something to do with Gwen's ability?" Irina asked Slavica directly not minding Gwen was standing beside her.

"Maybe. For now, Tacker, check the perimeter, and don't neglect that assigned task to you. Yui, clean the chimera's corpse and send a DIP specialist to run some tests on this creature. Also, make sure to get records about it. We have to know where it came from." Slavica was just being careful since she had no right proof about the sudden distraction that Gwen's power had lured.

"Irina, check around here since I want it to be spotless to any creatures. I don't want any revenge running here." She added her last command to her team since she needed more intel regarding what just happened here.

As Slavica placed her command on her team, Gwen focused on releasing her bloody strings that were starting to fade as if they did not exist in the first place. It faded without leaving any trace even the intoxicating odor that it released a while ago was nowhere to be sensed.

But when the two of them were about to head back to the cabin and let the others stay behind in the woods, there was something that was indeed making Gwen stop in her tracks. It was like there was something was calling her but when she stopped and listened to it, it was not a call but more of a taunting her.

'You're no fair lady.'

Gwen heard the voice of a man who feared for his life as if he was facing a very deadly and dangerous person that he'll ever encountered before.

'You wronged me, Mordred. I showed my fangs to those asking for it.'

Gwen also heard a very cold and angry voice of a lady that was as familiar to her. She could also feel the lady wore her piercing gaze looking straight at the frightened man before her. She might not see the exact scenery but she could feel them. She could feel their emotions as if she was there with them. Then the next thing Gwen felt was the blood gushing out from the man's body as she felt that it was being slashed into half. It made her scream in great pain that, of course, alarmed everyone, especially Slavica.

"GWEN!" Slavica shouted as she run back to where Gwen suddenly screamed in her frozen spot. Gwen was lost and couldn't reach Slavica's voice because it was being overpowered by the voices around her.

"What's wrong? Gwen!" Slavica went on being careful around Gwen's frozen state. Gwen was lost in some space where unknown yet familiar voices rang around along with their emotions. She could clearly hear and feel them through her veins.

"She was there again." Irina told to their boss who took off her coat and put it around Gwen before guiding her to sit down on the earthly ground.

"Irina, tell me her energy as I am going to pull her back." Slavica ordered her second in command as she rolled her sleeves as she was preparing herself to get inside Gwen's mind.

"Slavica, she's in the past." Irina informed her as she was doing what she was told to look at and she was shocked at reading the airflow around Gwen.

"Past? What past?" she wondered what kind of past or whose past was it.

"Your queen's past." Slavica halted from moving as soon as she heard that response from Irina's mouth.

"What did you say?" she just couldn't believe what she just heard and she couldn't do anything. It was the past that she really couldn't touch even with the help her all of her powers. What she could only do for Gwen was to pray that she will come back to her unharmed.

Gwen might be hearing things from somebody's memories that she wasn't sure belongs to her or just put into her. She still could hear Slavica's voice and Irina's as they were talking but she could pinpoint or hear them very clearly because she was being rained by too many emotions that were coming from the hysteric lady. She could really tell the lady didn't care that she was drenched by blood and kept going on killing any man who come her way.

"How can a person feel some many things in one shot?" Gwen sadly muttered as her tears began to fall because of the raging mixed-up emotions of pain, sorrow, and anger radiating around the hysteric lady.

Gwen could feel the hysteria lady already massacred whoever was in her way as if their lives have no meaning anymore. She could feel that the hysteric lady easily took them out as there was no emotion reflected over her or even in her movement. It was totally cloaked Gwen could tell what the lady intend to do.

'My queen, Guinevere.'

Gwen was shocked hearing that name since it was once called to her by her adoptive parents and even Lady Alwina.

"What the fuck?" Gwen muttered as soon as she heard that and another wave of confusion went on running to the side of her mind.

Everything was getting too much information from what she had learned and the memories of a certain past that she knew it was not hers but felt like it does. With that adrenaline, Gwen needed some breather to clearly absorb them since her heartbeat was already palpitating and it was not in a good way either.

"I need to breath…please…just one by one…not it rush…" Gwen pleaded since her heart was beating hard which led to anxiety and panic attacks.

Yet, the scene that was flashing to Gwen kept moving forward and the emotions were all flowing inside her. It was totally making her cry.

"Dammit, memories! Fine, I'll watch and feel them fully but not in such a rush!" Gwen clicked her tongue in frustration as she finally gave in.

Gwen knew that it won't stop flashing in such a rush if she doesn't agree with it. It wanted to show and make Gwen understand what was happening to her ever since she was born. She might be dealing with something from within and yet, her body shivered and showed tears that made Slavica totally devastated. She doesn't know what to do since she couldn't do anything but hold Gwen dearly into her arms.

"Please, my queen…don't hurt her…be one with her…as you promise…once you come back to me…" Slavica cradled Gwen into her arms as she couldn't stop the worried tears kept falling from her eyes as she talked to the familiar energy that was lurking around Gwen at the moment.

To Gwen's hearing and emotions, she could definitely feel the lady flinch from slaughtering her dead prey and quickly rash to the side of the person who called her. Gwen could tell that this lady's emotions came from a person who was lying before her. She could tell that the person in front of the lady was very wounded and only a matter of time before he will die.

'Don't stop, Merlin. Heal the king, please…heal Arthur.'

Gwen heard the pleading and weak voice of the lady and it was full of pain and sorrow that she couldn't compare to anything. This lady had seen a lot of deaths before her life and she could feel everything inside of the lady dying slowly as if the glow of this lady began on fading.

'My queen, you always be the light in the kingdom but since your family was being wiped out it slowly dimming.'

'Arthur…please, don't…let Merlin heal you.'

'Don't bind yourself in darkness. Find the light inside. Be with the light and there you'll find the happiness and peace that you've been longing for love. I love you, Guinevere'

'Merlin, don't forget what I told you before the downfall happened.'

'Understood, my king.'

'Arthur…don't…'

'I'm sorry but I have to go…but I'll be watching you like I always do. I love you, my queen Guinevere.'

'ARTHUR!'

As the broken scream the lady, Gwen was also radiating such sorrow and pain of loss which made her scream it as well at the top of her lungs. As Gwen was screaming, something began to glow over her hands which revealed the two different blades; one was a small sword and the other was a dagger that she let Slavica use earlier. Gwen knew it wasn't hers which belonged to the lady's feelings that she understood clearly. She couldn't compare it to anything else but she also felt the familiarity of her own swirling around it. It was like one made from the past while the other was from the present.

"Gwen, wake up please…" Slavica cried harder.

"Vica…" Gwen muttered when she finally heard her voice.

'Somebody is calling you.'
