There was a little bit of silence when Gwen asked Slavica about the feelings that she had once for her queen. Slavica looked deeply into Gwen's eyes and she saw no hints of jealousy or being territorial or possessiveness. It was a pure curiosity of who was Guinevere in Slavica's life and heart. That's what was making Slavica decide to be honest with the lady before her.
"Yes. Loved her and she always is a part of me. Yet, Excalibur took everything about her – I mean, her life was withering as time goes by and only a few of us knew about it. We, her five-round knights were the ones who knew the real reason why she was getting weak yet still determined. But her time has finally come which took the light away from me…" Slavica smiled sadly at Gwen as she began to feel the pain from that very moment. The moment that she regrets not telling or expressing her real feelings for her lost love and the queen, Guinevere.
"It did not, Vica. You just went dim but not entirely gone." Gwen smiled as she noticed what made Slavica smile like that.
Upon hearing that message, Slavica was not sure what to feel or to say back to Gwen's words. It hit her in some way that she could not explain even though some people who already knew her reminded her about it. Only Gwen could say something to her that shakes her entire sense that hit her heart to the core. She knew she was not the only one who speaks to her like that but only Gwen to make sense out of her like she was being pulled up to the light again.
"She's something…" Slavica muttered to her mind while looking far and deep into Gwen's assuring gazes.
"Does the others were still alive as well as you?" Gwen carefully asked that caught Slavica's attention and snapped from her own thoughts. She smiled since she could feel the sincerity within Gwen's words and it was enough for her - at least.
"Sadly, no. Aside from Merline, I'm the only one who lives among my fellow knights but I am not sure where Merlin was. But I know he's out there, somewhere." She answered Gwen but the look over Gwen's eyes really drowned her into such serenity of the long-forgotten time with her Guinevere. But at the same time, it was mixing with Gwen's touches as well.
Back then, Slavica had a great time whenever she could be alone with Guinevere. Both of them could be being themselves without the label of being a queen or a knight. They were both the only persons who really took time to see what lies beyond the name or the physical appearance. Slavica took notice that only the queen of Camelot took the liberty to stay and believe in what she could, which drove her to do and perform well in their duty as the knight of the queen. That's why she couldn't help but to be in love with the queen just simply her.
"Gwen, she's a simple lady who happened to be a queen of Camelot and the queen that I served and loved. But she's in the past that I have to carry on and keep moving forward which is where I found you. I know you might even think that I might be just seeing her in you that's why I am acting like which was true…" out of the blue, Slavica suddenly spoke about some connections that she took notice of between her past lives with the queen and meeting Gwen.
"...but there was something about you that speaks differently from Guinevere. You made me feel her indeed, but more importantly, you made me feel that I could do everything and be the better or best version of myself." Gwen went on listening to Slavica's confession carefully and she did not utter any words out of her respect for her right to speak whatever she was feeling at the moment.
"Just being with you I can be the knight of my queen, Slavica Ishnovishki, the simple lady farmer and long-gone duchess of Ishnovishki household. But at the same time, I could also be the cold black mask lady of DIP called Triquetra Sheath or just being simply Slavica Baldisimo who had no idea at first that the queen Guinevere resting inside of you until now." Slavica went on her confession about her feelings as she didn't care that her team could hear them clearly.
"I would admit that I am attracted to you because she's in you but as I kept spending time with you, my heart reacted with you and not the other way around. So I am going to confess over and over again how much I love you. Love at first sight, maybe. Too soon, I know it already but you have the right to hear what I am starting to feel for you. You to hear them very clearly and from me. I have no intention to lie about it. It is what I feel at the moment with you." She continued, which Gwen didn't expect to hear since she was just wanted to hear the story that have never written or even told in books regarding the story of Guinevere.
Speechless. Gwen's mouth could not find her voice when she heard them. She didn't expect Slavica to suddenly confess what she was feeling. There were no words formed from Gwen's mind to say regarding Slavica's confession. But she knew what she felt. There was some heat over her neck rushing up to her cheeks which she had never ever felt to anyone or anything before.
"Oh God…is she…oh, please…my heart…" Gwen wanted to cry at what she was suddenly feeling when she heard them clearly from Slavica's lips.
Gwen actually didn't expect that their feelings were not just a fling or that something that came from the mood or the pull of being supernatural mates. Instead, it was something more that none of them couldn't comprehend what suddenly happened between them. Just feel them rushing to her veins down to the pit of their bones.
"Gwen? Ahm, you don't have to answer me I just want you to know about it that's all…" Slavica's voice finally snapped Gwen from her deep thought regarding what she just confessed to her. But along with that voice, Gwen caught the tone of sadness which aches her heart.
"No. Sorry…I mean, I just can't believe that you're feeling the same…well, totally the same but yeah, I am too. Sorry, if it took some moment there to register what you just said to me. I just never felt this way or had special feelings for anything or anyone. It's the first time that my heart reacted strongly for someone." Gwen grabbed and hold Slavica's hand with such tenderness as she quickly answered. She really doesn't want Slavica to have some sad thought that she was being rejected or something because she wasn't. Gwen didn't reject her at all. In fact, she loves her as well but she just wanted to make sure what she was feeling toward Slavica before she could convey it.
"Also, I didn't expect that you going to confess since I'm just curious about the life of Guinevere that nobody knows. So, you kinda surprised me that's all." She continued that made Slavica smile but deep inside of her, she felt that she finally could breathe freely.
"I understand." She told Gwen who just looked at her in disbelief.
"Do you?" Gwen really wanted to know if Slavica indeed understood what she was trying to say to her.
Slavica wanted to chuckle when she heard that but she just smiled while nodding Gwen on the other hand was not buying it. Gwen seriously wanted to make sure that Slavica understand what she just confessed to her.
"You do understand that I love you too?" Gwen repeated herself since she really wanted to know if Slavica really, really, really understand what she just confessed.
"Yeah, I feel it. It was just that my heart really wanted to hear them from your lips, plus, it will be painful if it didn't." Slavica cleared which Gwen liked more than just saying 'yes' or 'I understand'. She really wants to hear the truth from Slavica's heart that's why she was eager to know about her thought and feelings about it.
"Well, fair point." Gwen began releasing her sweet giggles. Slavica looked at her lovingly as after what they'd suddenly confessed to each other.
But the more Slavica gave Gwen her loving stares, Gwen feel the heat creeping up again from her neck up to her cheeks. Feeling that rush through her veins, Gwen suddenly hit her arms playfully which surprised Slavica but she chuckled over it.
"So, why do you want to know about Guinevere?" Slavica cut their genuine moment and changed the subject. She was also intrigued by the sudden curiosity that Gwen was having for the long-gone queen.
"Oh about that, I am wondering about the glowing two small swords that my hand could make all of the sudden." Gwen took a sigh before she looked over her hands and when she speaks of them to Slavica, her hand began to glow in such warmness.
Gwen already felt the same warmness before through the mythical sword, Excalibur when she was in memory lane from Guinevere's past. Slavica took notice of them and she put her hands above Gwen's both hands and it was indeed radiating in such warmness like Guinevere's.
"Hm, well, to tell you this, I have no idea about what really happened to Guinevere when I'm not around her as her knight. But based on what I've heard over the thickness of the wall of the castle, Guinevere was just a human but ever since she managed to wield the Excalibur, she was different. Not sure how different but that's what they said that she was a total lady but some were saying that she was not especially around her king." Slavica honestly answered since she also doesn't have any clue who Guinevere really was before she became her knight.
"So, she's being herself around her husband?" Gwen guessed which made Slavica shrugged her shoulders.
"That's how I see that after hearing those voices around the thick walls of the castle." She answered what she knew regarding that matter. Gwen was in her deep thought once again and Slavica took notice of it.
"If you were bothered by it, why not channel it?" she suggested to Gwen who looked curious about how to do it.
"Channel how?" Gwen wondered which Slavica looked at her like she was joking but Gwen's expression was indeed priceless. Slavica chuckled as she earned a slap over her arm near Gwen.
"Meditation. Seriously, how can you not tell?" Slavica answered as she teased Gwen for forgetting how to channel the energy flowing around her body. Gwen playfully hit her shoulder again not realizing that it was the same process when she tried to understand the sudden flashing of memory lane to her before.
"Right, how did I forget that?" Gwen glared at Slavica who was still laughing but it went down quickly when she noticed the sudden heat coming from Gwen again.
The heat that was radiating all over Gwen's body was not as friendly as it was warning her that she'll be hurt if she doesn't stop laughing. Slavica gulped and turned her attention to something else before she dared Gwen on trying it.
"Wanna try?" out of slight fear from the warning warmness from Gwen's energy, she changed her laughter into a serious one. Slavica had a difficult time controlling her laughter because she rarely laugh genuinely without pretending that she was happy. She was sincerely happy being around Gwen.
Gwen didn't answer which made Slavica nod and took it as a yes but when she insist on assisting her, Gwen refused. She wanted to do it for herself and Slavica looked worried slightly about it because it might lead to something dangerous but Gwen smiled assuringly. Gwen just knew that only Slavica could pull her out of it if ever something went wrong with her meditation.
"Just watch me. Only you could pull me out if I can't." Gwen told her reason and Slavica sighed in defeat before agreeing to her. But at the same time, Slavica felt proud as she saw the determination in Gwen's steady gaze.
"Alright, if you say so." Slavica agreed to Gwen's request and just be guarded around her.
Gwen took the liberty to finally do the meditation on her own. First, Gwen looked for the best position to relax her body comfortably as her back settles on the couch. Second, she takes her time to close her eyes and focus on herself from within. She even took a couple of deep breaths and each time she did, she slowly released them until those destructions finally died down from her mind. Third, as her mind was finally free from having some distracting images playing in her mind, she calmed her breathing even more which led her into empty vast darkness that slowly opened into something different.
"This is different..." Gwen muttered to herself when the darkness faded into her background and saw some light that was glowing in heartbeat.
Like a curious cat, Gwen went closer to check it out. Once she was getting closer, the glow was getting brighter as it glows like a beating light of a heart. She suddenly felt some urges to touch it. She wasn't being lured or being called by the glowing light but it was making her feel something that was connected to her ever since she was born.
'Finally, you came.'
