Chapter 57: The Connection

Gwen found the sulking of her lover so cute but she didn't bother on showing it to Slavica and just be serious about their conversation. She looked at Slavica and added to trust Irina.

"You've been teamed with them for I don't know for how long already before I came into the picture but Vica, trust on Irina's ability. You've been together with her more than I do. You can see things better than Yui and Tucker can so trust her. Believe in her." She added as she reminded Slavica of the bond that they had already ever since they joined the DIP organization. Slavica sighed.

"But..." she was still trying to reason since she could get rid of the agitation that she was feeling around her teammates.

"Fine, I'll do something about it but please stay here." Seeing that Slavica was agitated, Gwen sighed and pinched her cheeks. She has to take charge as she doesn't want Slavica to be put in such worry and pressure again.

"What are you going to do?" she wondered.

"Being your partner and the leader of our team as well." She winked at her lover.

"But…" she tried to say something but Gwen groaned and glared coldly at her.

"SLAVICA ISHNOVISHKI BALDISIMO. Don't try to dry my patience with you. You might end up in could nine." Gwen glared at her lover and warned her at the same time flirting with her.

"Wha-!" Slavica was about to say something but when she realized what Gwen just told her, her cheeks began to turn red.

"Wow." Akasha reacted to that while clapping.

"You have a blunt mate here, Vica." Alysia chuckled and clapped as well.

"Take care of her for me. I'll do some channeling." Gwen turned to the DIP doctors and asked them a favor to check on Slavica while she was doing something for their team.

"You can do that already?" Akasha was surprised which she shouldn't be anymore but Gwen was indeed full of surprises.

"Inborn I guess." Gwen shrugged her shoulders as she was being humble to what she could do.

"Stay here and be good with them. I'm warning you, Vica." then she turned to her lover on the bed and gave her a sweet warning.

"Yes, ma'am." Slavica resigned in defeat.

"Good, love you." She kissed Slavica's lips before vanishing before their eyes.

"You have indeed a remarkable mate there, Vica." Akasha commented.

"I know that's why I don't want to ruin it. She deserves this love that I have for her." Slavica sighed but smiled lovingly whenever she thinks of her girlfriend.

"So whipped." Alysia teased.

"Totally." Akasha agreed before the two DIP doctors went back to doing whatever they were doing at their desks.

When Gwen left their office, she went to Mina's office without knocking since she just appeared inside the room. Jefferson and Nejin were surprised by her sudden appearance and Mina stared at her. She was trying to read her but for some reason, she couldn't.

"What brings you hear?" Mina said with her usual tone but the way she was eyeing Gwen from head to toe she was sensing something that she'll know soon.

"Oh, sorry. Urgent that's why I didn't knock. I just wanted to know the effect of agitation on the team leaders in the DIP elite team." Gwen apologized but it was an urgent matter and it was the only safe place for her to talk and use her ability for something.

"She's feeling agitation…I see…" Mina sighed when she heard them.

"Get straight with me so I can do something about it." Gwen wanted to know about it first before she used her power to help Slavica and the team.

"There's nothing you can do. But if she was showing it all of a sudden, something big will change. Whether around the team who was involved in a certain task or the scenario will change." Mina explained the connection of each team leader to their team and its surrounding.

Upon hearing that, Gwen nodded and sat freely on the couch while the other DIP founders were still puzzled by her presence around the room. They wanted to ask her when Gwen started to emit her awakened power that she once used while they were still in the cabin and she only used them among her teammates.

"Irina, update me." Gwen suddenly speaks that shocked the founders in the office because Irina spoke.

'Woah, you sure not using the earpiece like last time at the cabin?'

"Slavica didn't give me one." Gwen sighed since she didn't have one yet because when she used it once, Slavica took it back because she was still not a member of DIP back then.

'Finally, someone that I could talk to privately which I bet you're in the founders' office and away from her agitation.'

"Tell me about it." Gwen sighed as she rolled her eyes at Irina's comment.

'Well, she's like that and I'm annoyed whenever I'm on my task.'

"I can see that. You're like a sister to her." She pointed and Irina chuckled and told Gwen what she looked at her teammates including her.

'And so am I to my team especially you.'

"Flattered so, got any changes?" Gwen went into serious mode and Irina sighed before speaking about her updates.

'So good you're in the founder's office for what I am going to report. Let them hear it.'

"Don't worry, they were already listening." Irina wanted to make sure about Gwen being alone with the founders and Gwen confirmed it.

'Good. So far nothing around but…it was changing and the agitation of Slavica is happening here. Some wolf existence suddenly vanished.'

"Vanished?" she was confused as to what Irina just said there.

'I mean…'

Irina was about to explain to Gwen what she just meant to her update when another voice lady spoke and interrupted her. Gwen sensed something over the voice and made her listen very attentively and not just to the issue but to the wave from the lady's voice that she was hearing.

'Who are you talking to, Irina?'

'Oh, it's the person that I am telling you about, the one who can keep up with Slavica.'

'That's great, hello, dear, I'm Belle from IrisMoon pack…we're going to check a certain pack that was supposed to report to us two weeks ago.'

'Belle, hush…the smell from here…disgusting…'

"Ahm, Belle, do you have sight power?" Gwen suddenly asked which made the founders look at her on how come she knew about it. She gave a shrug since she was not sure either on where it came from.

'Yeah, how did you know?'

"You'll know once we meet but let me see through your eyes." Gwen didn't answer yet she wanted to see clearly what they were seeing on their spot.

'Can you do that?'

"I am not sure how but my guts tell me to do that." she just told the lady named Belle and agreed.

'Okay, go ahead.'

When she was allowed to do that, Gwen just rested her entire body on the couch and closed her eyes for a few seconds then when she opened them, it changes. Gwen's eyes turned mauve silver as started to see the woods and she knew that it was getting dark but the more they were getting deeper inside the woods. Gwen started to see dark energy flow lurking around, it was still faint but it was getting thicker.

"Stop, Belle, Irina from moving." Gwen suddenly made them stop in their tracks because the dark smoke was getting thicker with each advance that they were doing.

'What do you see that I couldn't?'

"Climbed up to the trees and don't make any noises or drop something. Just do it. Hurry." Gwen ushered them and they both quickly get up from the nearest tree before them.

'Okay.'

"Belle, navigate the surroundings and tell me if you feel any malice around the area." she instructed because what her eyes could see through Belle's was totally different.

Belle only see typical surroundings but to Gwen, she could see a lot of energy forces flowing through the entire woods but the dark smoke was getting thicker before them. She was just applying some precautions.

'Now that you mentioned, malice, my wolf was whining and wanted to stop from advancing.'

"Something was preventing you to see something." Gwen concluded while the founders were listening to their conversation clearly.

'What they were hiding?'

"Ruines and dead bodies." Gwen dropped her guess which made Belle wondered why she concluded like that.

'What? Are you sure?'

"Use your wolf nose, tell me if I'm wrong." She said and Belle didn't hesitate to check it out and Gwen was right.

'So that's why Irina said it's disgusting.'

'Air user here.'

"Irina, collect information as much as you can regarding the air and the smell around the area and if you had a necromancer as a familiar, summoned it for you to gather the exact case in the area." She commanded Irina who agreed with that plan.

'Noted.'

"I'll tell this to Slavica which I bet she'll think of checking for herself. So by then, update me before we head there." she said before sighing.

'Sure.'

"Belle, thank you, and went this connection close, train your power of sight, it might be handy one day and be able to find the reason why we had this conversation." Gwen said to Belle as she thanked her for the help she gave to Irina and hers.

'That sound mysterious coming from you.'

"Honestly, I am not sure where I get them but I think because of having a blood of an amazon-shaman." She sighed with a slight smile on her lips which Belle chuckled.

'No wonder I feel eager to meet you. You can form a tribe. Tell, Wilma to drop by one day.'

"I will. So go home and rest. Do it by tomorrow morning before the sun hits the ground, Irina but leave some of your minions to guard the perimeter." Gwen nodded and commanded one last time to Irina to continue her task tomorrow morning.

'Roger and out.'

When the contact has been done, Gwen took one deep breath before realizing them and everything around her went back to the usual. Then she looked at the three founders with her before she shrugged her shoulders.

"You're indeed a promising one." Nejin commented while smirking at her.

"You're indeed inheriting Wilma's power." Jefferson added.

"But I am nothing like her." Gwen closed her eyes to take some rest for it.

"But Sabina, Wilma hasn't taken any apprentice beside you. She's being cautious about it because her ability was totally great but heavy at the same time. It was making wonder if she ever had her mate beside her." Nejin pointed out to her as he handed her hot camomile mint tea for her to relax.

"She does and they have three children but due to the fallen rogues issues…it forced her to focus on our organization." Mina cleared that out.

"And her kids?" Gwen wondered as she drank the tea slowly.

"All grown up and spreading their bloodline." Mina just answered briefly. Gwen understood and didn't ask about it anyway.

"Anyway, do you feel better now, Sabina?" Mina changed the subject.

"Let me sit for a few moments here. That connection was totally a very long distance. I need my food for it." Gwen chuckled as she finished her cup and went back to resting on the couch.

"Go ahead and rest. You have to make a report regarding that matter before you leave the DIP premises." Mina reminded her but Gwen was totally tired and the three of them already noticed that.

"I will. Just let me…rest…" Gwen yawned as she slowly went to her dreamless slumber.

But that was only in a few minutes, Gwen drifted into the realm of dreams where she was taken once again to the past where the broken knight was there and losing their beloved queen. Then it drastically changed when she was being taken to the burning orphanage and then the triquetra symbol marked on her. She gasped because it was burning again and wherever it does, something bad will happen or it was already done.

"Flame…ashes…" Gwen muttered to her sleep which caught Jefferson and Mina's supernatural hearing.

"Dead bodies…wolves…crying…roaring…anger…desperation…power…rogues…" Gwen kept muttering in her sleep which confuses the three founders Mina looked over at Nejin and called Wilma or Alysia to check on her.

But before Nejin could even step out of the room, Wilma already showed up and appeared beside Gwen. She was about to see what Gwen was suddenly dreaming when she gasped for air.

"Huntress…" she blinked a few times before she looked around and recalled that she didn't leave Mina's office yet.

"You okay? You've been dreaming about something." Wilma asked in her caring voice.

"Past…a certain pack has been raided by rogues and the supposed to be Luna, the huntress managed to survive since she's a huntress…she's pregnant…" Gwen was still in a daze as she recalled vaguely about her dream that feels so real.

"Which pack?" Jefferson interrupted her mumbling that they could hear clearly.

"It's the same pack where Belle and Irina were about to check but I didn't let them since it was getting dark. It was late to check the perimeter with that malice around." Gwen answered what she recalled about it.

"Okay, anything else?" Wilma asked carefully since she doesn't want Gwen to panic over the sudden dream that she went through.

It looked nightmare to Gwen because of the chaotic death and noises in that dream and Wilma managed to see a glimpse of it. It explained why she suddenly appeared in Mina's office without any sign of entrance. Totally like what Gwen did earlier when she appeared inside the office.

"The lone huntress…she's in the custody of the vampires…" Gwen tried to recall them.

"Of which clan?" Mina turned to ask that.

"Aspire." She answered.

"Hmm…recent or still in the past?" Mina wondered as she was a bit getting what Gwen's dream was about.

"Past. the huntress was blessed by two mates, vampire, and werewolf…but she's different…she's strong and clever yet cunning…" Gwen groaned as her head started to sting from thinking too much.
