Chapter 66

" But I didn't cheat! " Toga said with a beaten face.

" Bullshit. " Dabi said.

" No, she's right. " Axel said with a straight face.

" See! He agr... Wait. " Toga said as she looked at Axel with a furious look in her eyes.

" Yeah. I put those cards in her sleeve. " Axel said with a smile.

" It was getting too chummy in here, so I added a bit of chaos. " Axel said.

" Run. " Toga whispered looking furious. The others looked at him with a thankful expression. They didn't like Toga winning all the time. They were betting delicious food and she was getting all of it.

" Too tired. " Axel said as he plopped himself on the couch.

" Okay. " Toga said as she rushed towards him to stab him.

She sat on his back and repeatedly stabbed him, but his barriers didn't break as Axel just laid on the couch. The alarm he set on his phone went off, so Axel threw Toga off him as he got up.

" What was that for?! " Toga asked.

" It's time to go. I have shit to do, but I'll be here tomorrow like we agreed. " Axel said with a smile. He turned towards Toga and healed all the damage she received from getting beaten.

Kurogiri opened a portal as Axel left with a wave towards them.

" So what do guys think of him? I think he's pretty fun to be around. " Toga said happily as she took a burger.

" I didn't expect to be playing poker with him. Though considering that he had the personality of a toothpick before compared to now, it's expected. " Dabi said.

" Yeah. " Shigaraki agreed as he kept eating his burger.

" Oi Shiggy, can you defeat him? " Dabi asked after taking another bite.

" Don't know. " Shigaraki answered honestly. " I'll have to fight him first to see if it is. "

" I wonder what his blood would taste like. I should have asked him. He might have given some to me this time. " Toga said before feeling disappointed.

Considering she can use the quirks of other people know, if she had Axel's blood and learned how he uses his quirk, she could do the same things he can.

That meant she can finally hold Shigaraki down and apply some cream on him to fix his crusty skin without any issues along with lip bomb. His lips are way too chapped.

Axel returned stepped out of the portal where Kurogiri picked him up from. Stain didn't have to come with him, so he went out to fight against villains who were harming civilians to pass the time.

" Hey, Nezu. What's their location? " Axel asked over the phone.

" Really? That's the first thing you say. Can't you at least tell what happened while you were there? " Nezu asked.

" I'll tell you once I get back. "

" Fine. There are were last sighted in Hosu. They are taking refuge there. "

" Okay. Thanks, Nezu. Also, All for One is a fan of Star Wars. "

" Wait seriously? Oh, Oh!! So that's why his mask seemed familiar. " Nezu said enforcement handing up.

" Sup. Long time no see. " Axel said as he looked at the members of Yakuza.

" Oh, it's you," Nemoto said with a calm look on his face He didn't get up from his spot on the ground while the other members got ready to fight.

" Get up to fight Nemoto or do you want to go back to prison? " Setsuno said as he looked at Axel.

" There's no point. What can we do against the guy who beat Overhaul? " Nemoto said.

" He beat Overhaul. That's even better!! " Rappa yelled as he stared at Axel.

"Rappa? Straight to the violence, again. " Tengai said as he stared at Rappa.

" Why are you here? Still, trying to be a hero even after all this? " Tabe yelled.

" Nope. I just came here to have a chat. " Axel said with a smile as he stood in front of them.

" A chat? " Nemoto said with a furrowed eyebrows.

" Yep. This is the first time we're having a conversation with each other, so let's introduce ourselves. Names Axel Black. " Axel said as he looked at them.

The eight bullets looked at Axel in confusion, Nemoto especially. The person in front of him was vastly different from the one he saw. Is he only like that when serious?

" Names Rappa Kendo! Let's fight. " Rappa yelled as he rushed towards Axel.

" Wait, Rappa!! Don't attack him, his quirk is the stronger version of Tengai's!! " Nemoto yelled as Tengai looked at him in surprise.

But it's was too late as Rappa appeared in front of Axel, releasing a barrage of punches at him. Axel smirked as Stage 2 Susanoo appeared to the surprise of everyone.

Rappa was surprised for a moment but grinned as he sent out punches towards it. The Susanoo responded in kind, as the both of them had fought with a barrage of punches, much to Rappa's enjoyment.

Axel still had a smile on his face as commanded Susanoo to slam its fist into Rappa's stomach, launching him back towards the other eight bullets, who stood there in surprise.

" That entire being was made out of barriers. " Tengai commented in pure awe.

" Yep. It's a bunch of barriers, fitted together like gears in a machine to move him. " Axel said.

" That's amazing. Your quirk is a much more advanced version of my quirk. " Tengai said with a smile on his face. He wasn't mad or disappointed. He was just in awe of Axel's skill and creativity.

Katsukame stared at Axel in awe as well. His quirk allows him to drain the energy of the people around him. It allows him to see how much energy someone has and Axel has a ton of energy inside him. Axel's attack on Rappa didn't make much of a dent in his energy reserves.

' How much energy does he have? ' Katsukame thought.

" That was awesome. Let's keep fighting!! " Rappa yelled with a happy grin on his face.

" Yeah no. " Axel said to Rappa.

" Eh? Why not?! " Rappa asked.

"As I said before, I'm here for a chat. After that chat, we can have a spar. " Axel said.

" Promise? " Rappa asked.

" Promise. " Axel said.

" That's all it takes to calm you down. " Katsukame said lazily. " I wish I had known that sooner. "

" It would have been helpful. " Tabe said.

" So what did you want to talk about? " Nemoto asked with caution as he stared at Axel.

" About you joining me. " Axel answered immediately.

The members looked towards Nemoto. He may have lost his quirk, but that doesn't mean he can't tell when a person is lying or not. His quirk just forces the target to speak the truth.

" He isn't lying. " Nemoto said.

" Tch. " Setsuno clicked before looking at Axel in rage.

" Why the hell would we join you?!! Heroes are the reason our lives have gone to hell, just like this society!! You want us to help you protect that shifty world!! " Setsuno yelled out in pure rage.

" No," Axel said with a smirk on his face. This caught the members of the 8 bullets off guard along with Axel's next words.

" I want you to help me destroy it. " Axel said with a grin on his face.

Nemoto stared in shock as his eyes widened as Axel's grin went back to a calm smile on his face.

" What's wrong Nemoto? Did I lie? " Axel asked as the other members looked at him. This has to be a joke they thought. They would be no way that a hero, the same hero who helped in the defeat of the Yakuza, would say those words.

" He's not lying. " Nemoto muttered.

Shock ran through the bodies of the other members as they all turned towards Axel. He wanted to destroy that society.

" Why would you want to do that? " Hojo asked.

" Simple. Because I want the bullshit to end. I'm not someone who has a sad backstory. I'm just someone who got caught up in the problems society created and is just now taking action. " Axel said.

The members didn't have to look towards Nemoto for this, they knew Axel wasn't lying. Nemoto himself could see that Axel was sincere, thus he lowered his guard a little.

" So the information... " Setsuno asked.

" Was given to the news by someone who agreed to help me. " Axel answered.

" Will you do it? " Setsuno asked. " Will you make a better society? "

" Not without help. " Axel said, surprising them even more.

" The first step is removing the hero system. After that, society, people themselves need to do their part as well. Instead of watching the entire time, they need to actually do something and help each other, not wait around for someone else to do it. I can't change society by myself. I wouldn't have gotten this far without the person who gave the information to the news in the first place. " Axel said as he looked at them.

" Will you help me? " Axel asked as he held his hand out to help.

The eight bullets looked at Axel's hand and then towards his face. This sounded too good to be true, even if Nemoto can see through him and tell if he's lying.

Why would someone who went to a hero school, do this? Make a plan to destroy the hero system?

Yet as they looked at Axel, they didn't find any lies. He was sincere and something different from Overhaul was Axel's eyes. Overhaul didn't care about people. He just saw them as tools, like with Eri. The eight of them didn't mind being seen as tools by him, since in the end, they had each other.

So how would it feel working under Axel?

Before they can make a decision, Nemoto spoke up.

" Is that why you're here? " He asked as Axel looked at him.

" You're not here for revenge of any kind. After all, I saw you beat up Overhaul with no remorse for what he did to Eri. Are you not going to do the same to us? " Nemoto asked. He could still remember Axel's cold eyes as he stared at him.

" Hmm. Well, it depends. Do you think it was right of Overhaul to use Eri that way? " Axel asked.

" Nope. " Rappa said immediately and confidently.

" Not in the slightest. " Setsuno said immediately, saying it at the same time as Rappa.

" I despised it. " Tengai said.

" It makes me sober. " Sakaki said, saying his first line in this entire conversation.

" I hated it. " Hojo said. It reminded him of his past, but he couldn't do anything as Overhaul would have disassembled him and that wasn't fun.

" Same. There's also the fact that I don't enjoy being disassembled and reassembled. " Katsukame said lazily with a shiver at the memory with Tabe nodding to his words.

Nemoto was the only one left as he looked at Axel.

" I have never cared about it at all. The world lies! Thou shalt not commit murder, thou shalt not bear false witness. Thou shalt not cheat, thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife. All of these are lies! Mere illusions just like the image of the heroes, nothing more.

I didn't care that she was being used like that. I will admit however that if I was in her position, I'd probably feel the same way she did. " Nemoto admitted.

" What will you do now? " Nemoto asked as he looked at Axel who just stared at him.

" Let Eri decide what to do with you. " Axel said as Nemoto looked at him.

" That makes sense. She went through everything. " Nemoto said while the other members nodded their heads. If you agreed to join Axel, then he would have them face Eri.

" I know you guys aren't lying about anything. While you guys hadn't done anything to help her, if I was in your shoes, I probably would have done anything either. Eri can decide what to do with you. You won't die though. " Axel commented.

" So back to the original question. " Axel said as he raised his hand.

" What's your answer? "

The 8 bullets looked at the hand and then Axel. Each of them got up and went towards Axel. Nemoto was the last one to go up to Axel. He was was hesitant to join Axel as his loyalty was to Overhaul. He was the first person who told the truth to him and didn't lie. Axel at this moment was the same. He only spoke the truth which made Nemoto reduce his guard around him a little.

" If you uncounted Overhaul again, what will you do? " Nemoto asked.

" Hold in the urge to kill him. " Axel said with a smile. Nemoto nodded his head to that and shook Axel's hand. Again, Axel didn't lie.

" Rappa, it's time. " Axel said as he looked towards him. Rappa had a smile on his face. Axel was fulfilling his promise.

" Alright. Let's fight!! " Rappa yelled in excitement.

Axel smirked as he sent out Susanno stage 2 to fight Rappa.
