Tired and stiff

Me and Rivo sit out in the meadow for a while, lying on the green soft grass whilst looking up the blue sky that slowly started to turn into a darker blue.

" We better get home before it's too dark for us to see" Rivo sighed as he stood up and grabbed our sticks. " Can't we stay here for a little while longer? I just wanna see the stars..." I whine as I sit up and look over at Rivo and pout. He shakes his hand as he reached for my hand and helps me out. " I wish we could, but tomorrow I have to stay up early, I'm going into polish to gather us some food and perhaps some clothings " he said softly. " Can I at least come with you, I can ride on Nexus right next to you..." I plead Rivo as I give him my puppy eyes whilst looking up at him innocently. " I promise I won't run off... you can even lead Nexus once we get to the city, please I just wanna see the capital, and perhaps I would get the chance to see the commander..." I said excitedly as I imagine myself meeting the commander, known as Heda, but also known as Anya.

I don't know much about her, I've only heard a fewer things from the people in my village, but also read in the few books we have. One off the books I have is called ' To be the commander'. The book tells us stories about the past commanders but also about the commander that we have now. In the books there isn't much described off Anya, probably because she's also described as the mysterious commander. She usually likes to keep to herself, and her ways off brining peace are harsh. If someone where to threaten her people they would die on the spot. I've always looked up at her, not because of her ruthless and harsh side, but it's also described that she's wise and kind. They say that if she likes you, you should feel very special, not even all of the Nightbloods are likes by Anya, which can be a problem, especially if your to participate in the conclave. And if you are to participate in the conclave you'll only get a weapon if you get a sponsor, it can both me Citizens, but also Anya, the best would probably be to have Anya as a sponsor, that means you can have the bets tactics and get the best weapons to win it. But that only happens when the Nightbloods turn 16, then they're considered old enough to fight for themselves and being able to kill people without feeling bad for them.

" Alright, alright... you can come to polis, but you have to promise me, not to take any extra food from anybody, you never know..." he mumbles as we walked through the dark forest. " What do you mean? If they offer food, should I eat it? I mean I wouldn't say no to free food...." I smiled up at him.

" it's not that, it makes the try to make you buy it, and some people in polis are very greedy, and some might even be very aggressive, especially to small girl like you that can't protect themselves that well."

He said simply. Woah, that was like a slap in the face, I'm aware that I'm young, but it doesn't mean I cannot protect myself. But I maintain to keep it inside. I don't wanna start up a fights with my brother, not now, not now that we're both tired, and tired people who're being mean can be hurt, not physically, but mentally by words.

The rest off the walk home is silent, only bird and the wind is to be heard. Not only my legs, but my whole body feels weak as I drop down into the couch in our living room and let out a loud groan. " I don't think I've ver felt this tired before..." I mumbles as I close my eyes and rest. " Well prepare yourself for more off this, at least if you wanna train more " Rivo spoke and let out a faint laugh as he were making us food. " Perhaps I don't want after all... it's all a waist of time " I say sarcastically as a laughter escape my mouth and I push myself up from the couch, feeling my whole body is stiff as I walk over to the kitchen table to sit down. " What's that good smell... I can smell..." I mumbles as I try to peak up from the table. " Oh I'm just making a perfume " Rivo said sarcastically as he placed two bread for each off us, two eggs and some bacon for each off us. " I knew there was bacon there " I told him. " You always know when it's meat, after all meat is your favourite food..." he said softly. " Well it's the only food we can afford... " I mumbles " Sometimes " I add quickly as I start eating my food and look up to see Rivo's face a bit more sad " I'm sorry... I didn't mean it like that, I really appreciate the other food as well..." I said innocently and looked down at my food feeling bad for what just escaped my mouth. I feel Rivo's hand underneath my head as he lifts my chin and I can't help but to swallow thickly. " It's okay... we could've had it worse, and we could've had it better. Just removed it not your fault and nor my... it's dads..." he said simply before letting go off my chin as we continued to eat in silence.

None off us spoke more during that evening, we both went to bed silently without any good night and I fell asleep quickly considering I were well, very tired and stiff from the night before.
