Death on my hands

I breathed slowly and quietly, when we finally reached the river. I gently climbed off my horse and attached him to the nearby tree as I walked down to the water. I bent down to fill my hands with water before I lifted them up to my mouth and drank it. I felt myself zooming out for a brief moment when I suddenly heard the sounds off hives running towards me. I quickly stood up and lined over towards one off the stone and hide behind them, my eyes peeking through the little crack as the horse approached.

" Lexa?? Lexa are you there??"

The voice spoke, but I couldn't fully recognise it, as it spoke in a low voice and the horse couldn't stay still. " I know your here... please come out, hurry! It's Costia!" Now the voice sound more familiar, I was quick to perk out from my hiding spot as she spoke off her name. And there she sat, the ever so beautiful girl, up on her majestic horse. I could only imagine such a beautiful girl in my dreams, but this were no dream, it was reality. " Hello, you there?" Her voice snapped through me as I looked up and simply nodded towards her. " We have to get you back now, they know who you are and they're trying to hunt you down..." she spoke quickly. " My father told me to bring you to your home and hide you, whilst I will look out and tell you when you can come out..." she spoke as I climbed up on my horse and looked to her still. " What about my brother?" I spoke worriedly as we slowly started heading back towards my house. " he'll be just fine, don't worry..." she said softly. There was something about the girls soothing voice, it made me calm down, and it truly convinced that there was no problem at all. We didn't speak much as we trotted through the forest, trying to keep quite in chase the hunters were in the forests as well. I thought to myself where I would go after this, I knew I couldn't stay in the village and I would have to move unless I would be taken. " Hold on..." Costia spoke, we stopped a few meters from my house and moved the horses to the side so we weren't as visible. The hunters were already at my house and speaking to my brother. I couldn't mouth all the words, but I could tell my brother was trying to cover up and pretend as he didn't know where I was. I narrowed my eyes as one off the men had a smirk plastered onto his face and lifted a sword and held it up against my brothers throat. I quickly moved my horse, but I was immediately stopped by Costia's and she looked to me and shook her head " No..." she said simply. Just as I looked to my brother the man quickly in one movement cut my brothers throat, he's head falling to the ground, followed by his body.

I felt shivers runs down my body, my lips parting and the tears rolling down my cheeks. I clutches tightly onto my horses reigns in frustration and greet my teeth. " no..." I spoke in a low tone. I couldn't maintain my stans, as I burst out in tears, the men looking towards me with raised brows, slowly walking over to us. Luckily for me, Costia grabbed turned her horse and smacked my horses as to make him run off into the forest. The men looking towards each other, clearly not picking up on what was going on. They turned back around and looked through the rest off my village for me.
