CHAPTER 22 - BROKE

After a short while, the noise has vanished. They all come out and surprised that Hoax was gone.

"Where the hell is that killer man?" Friean asked with all her strength because she was too shocked by what had happened.

"Be careful about giving nicknames to other people, Princess. He is one of us. I believe you don't want to make that nickname come true, right?" Rex warned her.

"Oh, yeah! Here goes our righteous Crowned Prince," Friean rolled her eyes.

"Hey, stop it! You are such a brat," Snow said and they both laughed.

"This is not the right time to have fun, Young Ladies. We have a colleague that is missing," Roi was a bit tensed he kept on swaying his hands.

"Just relax, Roi. We will find Hoax and we will all continue to walk into this forest," Mave was trying to make Roi feel at ease.

"I can smell blood from here. It might be half kilometers from here on my west," Tosh reported.

"What the hell was that? Are you psychic or what?" Snow asked.

"I have developed such skills, so I just want to share what I can smell. There is nothing to worry about. The blood of a snake was invading all of my senses," Tosh added.

"Thank God! I thought we may be losing one friend again," Mave said out of nowhere.

Roi smiled, "That sounds good. Friends. Not colleagues."

"I will agree to that!" Ace hugged them both.

"I think we should stay here for a while to wait for Hoax. I bet he is just checking what happened there," David suggested.

"I agree with that. Remember when he said he can go anywhere that easy? He might be there at the place of the incident," Ace concluded.

"Impressive memory, bro. I hope you also remember ours," Rex pointed at them one by one and gave a teasing smile to Ace.

"Of course, I do!" Ace raised his brow, "I remember all of yours completely detailed. No more, no less," and he gave him an annoyed face.

"You two have gotten that close, huh? I wish there ain't no other business with that closeness," Snow noticed.

"I am happy to say that," Ace paused and smiled at Snow, "We have no other business aside from this fucking training in Dwindle, okay? And if we have, don't worry, I know that David will not let you down, right?" He turned his eyes to David.

David just shooked his head out of disappointment with Snow.

"What the hell was effin' wrong about you, David?" Snow asked with tears in her eyes.

"Stop your drama, Your Highness," David answered.

"We were fine when we got here. You even got jealous of Ace, right? But why did you change all of a sudden when we got out of the room? What did you do?" Snow come closer to him and held his face, "What did she do to you?" she was pertaining to Lady Samson.

David removed her hands off his face, "We both know that she has nothing to do with this. You know what it really was. I am so embarrassed that you've caught me off guard, Snow," David sighed, "Yes, I know your capabilities but as a friend, I have trusted you enough. I can't imagine that you did that to me. And now that I have figured it all out, let me go, please. Being on this island is already torture. Let me have peace of mind, okay?"

"So, you want us to break up?" everyone was shocked by what Snow had asked David.

"You know very well that did not have any relationship, Your Highness. I have stayed by your side as your Butler, a friend and I even thought that you are my sister. I am very sorry that I am only good at protecting you. I forgot to protect myself that it even destroys you now," answered David.

All of them were in shock. They all thought that they were in a relationship. They all witness their sweetness upon arrival and now this was the status.

Snow can't help but cry and stare at David, "I know this will be a big issue when we got back to Southwest, but I am very sorry that I can't do it anymore, with you, Snow. I have to restart again with Claire."

Snow scoffed, "Claire? With Claire?" she shouted, "Don't you remember what she did? She slept with my father! And by now, I know that she is pregnant. I don't care if that will take the throne over me if it was a boy, as long as I will live with you!"

David slapped Snow and Ace stopped him from repeating it. David was catching his breath. He was fuming mad, "I witnessed all of it, Snow. From the start until now that you have succeeded to make her life miserable. It was all part of your greediness!" David cried, "I have already made it clear with you that I have no intention and I cannot reciprocate the love you were showing to me. Yes! I love you, but that love was just for a friend or a sister. For goodness sake, Snow! You destroyed a woman's life! The woman that you know that I treasure."

Snow wiped her tears, "Seeing you like this makes me so worked up. I will not let you two be happy. I will make sure to not let you happy."

Tosh patted Ace's shoulders and get David, "I will take him somewhere else while waiting for Hoax. He needs to relax before we continue walking."

Snow was still crying while lying on the ground. Friean is trying her best to console her.

"Can you give us a minute, Friean?" Ace asked.

Friean looked at him with warning eyes before leaving.

"Hey, get up. This is so not you. We were used to you as a tough next Empress, stop crying now," Ace is trying to lift her.

"I just did it because I love him," Snow sniffed, "I did not want to harm them both, but I just have to save him!"

"Save him from what?" Ace was dumbfounded.

"He is the last successor of his family line. I found out that Claire was from the family that envies them so much and was eager to erase them from Southwest," Snow cried again, "I don't want to lose him. The only way I know was to make those things happen because they can't harm my Papa. I hate her a lot!"

Ace hugged her, "Love can really do everything. Any kind of love can really poison one's thinking. But don't let your love make you that selfish. Let him go. I am very certain that someday, you will find someone who can reciprocate your feelings."

Snow stopped from crying and looked at him, "I already found someone. I just don't know if he can love me back, too. I guess love is not my thing after all."

"Oh, he's back!" Friean shouted when she saw Hoax.

"Get ready, we need to leave in an instant," Hoax said that everyone made feel nervous.
