Lark was helping me dress up for the day, as much as I'd like to go to Celeste's house now etiquette requires otherwise, so I will have to pass my time finishing up my leftover work. When we were done, Lark hands me a letter. I turned it over checking the seal- The Royal Academy. I stretch out my other hand asking him to get the letter opener which he immediately places. Once opened I glance it through, it's an acceptance letter. Although I knew it would happen since it did in the book and I am a Prince but things could always change, better to be extra sure. Now with this, I have another reason to pay her a visit.
I set the letter aside and began looking over the papers on my desk.
"Your Highness…"
"Hmmm??" I looked up to show I was listening.
"You haven't had your breakfast yet."
Ohhhhh, yeah. I gave him a sheepish smile in turn he just looked exasperated.
Finally, I could go out to visit Celeste, currently I was waiting for her in her receiving room, the maids had served him some tea and snacks and was waiting at the corner of the room in case I would need anything. It was a bit later that Celeste came in, I turned to look at her- well she looked a little worn out but that's to be expected since she told me that she actually liked Ares. She sat across me and her maid served her some tea as well then went to stand beside the other maid. Celeste took a small sip before she eventually met my eyes. Her were a bit red and looked tired; she probably cried herself to a restless sleep. But even so, she managed to place a small smile on her face, "Hello Sirius."
I smiled and greeted in turn as well. "How are you doing Celeste?"
"I'll be alright, you worry too much."
"If I didn't who else would?" I questioned back jokingly. I succeeded in bringing a little giggle out of her.
"Thank you, Sirius, sincerely…"
I only smiled in return, "Will you still come to the palace? For training at least if not to play around? Raven would be saddened if you don't come anymore."
"Well we can't have that happening now can we?" her smile turned a little brighter, "Don't worry, I will still come. Although I can't meet Lady Helen and smile like nothing, even though I knew since long before that Ares never liked me… it still hurts to see them together."
"You knew??"
"Ares made sure I knew his feelings, long before… it was just me holding on one-sidedly… He always knew my feeling for him."
"I hope he wasn't too rude to you when he came to know. If he was just tell me, I'll reprimed him for you." He probably just straight forwardly said he wasn't interested in Celeste that way or that he already has someone else he likes. I need to teach him to be a little more softer to others as well and not just to Lady Helen!
"No, no, he wasn't like that." Her hands frantically shook along with her head, "That aside, did you also receive your letter from the Royal Academy?! I just received mine today morning!!"
"I did, like you I also received it just this morning." I grinned before taking another sip of the tea before I continued, "I'm sure you have been accepted right?"
"Of course I've been accepted!~"
"You're more excited than I thought you'd be."
Celeste hummed in agreement and added, "Well that is true. Other than being excited about the academy itself… I think being away from Ares and Lady Helen will do me some good. Also, I have you there too so I won't be on my own."
"That's true" I chuckled, "You will not be able to lose me anytime soon."
Three days after my visit to Celeste's house, she finally came for our morning swordsmanship training. I was happy she did, Raven immediately came to watch over our training when she heard. Whenever we had a short break the two would chat like they haven't seen each other for years and not just a few days or so. Training went smoothly, we were both steadily improving, Celeste could become a paladin or join the ranks at this rate.
When we were finally done for the day, we were exhausted and sweating buckets. We both lay on the cool grass resting a bit before we had to continue with our other duties.
I had my eyes closed enjoying the breeze and the silence, occasionally I would hear the other knights or the servants as they went about their jobs. Peaceful-
"Hello Your Highness, Lady Celeste." I briskly opened my eyes only to find Lady Helen standing above us- a parasol in hand, I glanced at the side to see Celeste's shocked and frozen face; she had her eyes closed too, I guess. I stood up straight as fast as possible, Celeste not far behind, "Lady Helen, good day to you too. Have you come to meet Ares?"
A bright smile took over her features followed by a very enthusiastic 'yes', I smiled back and the remembered Celeste standing slightly behind me, so I introduced her, "Lady Helen, let me introduce you to Lady Celeste Luminosa. Celeste this is Lady Helen Faust."
Celeste nodded and gave a stiff-ish bow in greeting, "Lady Faust, nice to meet you…"
"You as well Lady Luminosa, I've heard a lot about you and I must say, the rumors don't so you justice. You are much more beautiful than I'd imagined."
"Thank you, Lady Faust. If you would excuse me, I have somethings to attend. Goodbye Sirius, I'll see you again." And she walked away. Well… that went better than I thought t would… I thought she might have behaved more rudely, but she seemed to have restrained herself quite a lot compared to her game version.
"I'm sorry Your Highness, that was extremely careless of me…"
"What do you mean, Lady Helen?" I was confused why she would apologize now…
"I knew that Lady Luminosa would not be comfortable talking to me, Ares had informed me that they were previously engaged. I'm sure Lady Luminosa wouldn't like me, after all it is because of me that her engagement was annulled." She said as she stared in the direction Celeste went. I didn't know what to say about that, it was true and I don't think hiding the reality would make the situation that were in any better. It was bound to happen, and Celeste's reaction was justifiable.
"I'm not sure, what to say to that My Lady. What you said is true. I'm not sure what to say to comfort you. Ares would probably tell you not to care for what others say, I'm sure…"
Helen laughed a little and said, "Yes, knowing His Highness that would probably be the exact thing he says. I know he means well but I can't do that."
I smiled, "Follow your heart Lady Helen. That's the best you can do right now. And no matter what I don't think you should feel guilty of falling in love and having your love returned by that person."
"Yes, Your Highness. Thank you for your kind words, I'll take my leave now."
With that Helen moved towards the palace. She really was very beautiful and it certainly grew on you a little every time.
By now Celeste must have headed back, I hope everything goes smoothly.
