CHAPTER 62

Rage, that's what is strengthening Natsu's magic as he began delivering Jellal multiple attacks. At first, Jellal only used his physical body to fight Natsu. This resulted in Natsu seemingly having the upper hand, but in my eyes, Natsu's attack could land but they didn't do any real damage. All Natsu's attack could do was burn Jellal's clothes.

The moment Jellal actively channeled his magical energy it marks the start of Natsu's downfall. Jellal had used his magic and now Natsu was barely able to keep up. Natsu tried to rely on his other senses aside from his eyes to predict where Jellal was going to attack next but it was to no avail. You can't catch up to something that is totally way beyond your body's physical ability and Natsu fighting Jellal was a solid example of that.

By my estimate, Natsu was probably at least 2-3 years too early in fighting Jellal. I narrowed my eyes thought that perhaps I should take over. This was not like Lucy and Juvia teaming up against Taka. Natsu's battle with Jellal is extremely different from that fight. I didn't help in the previous fight cause I believe that with Juvia and Lucy working together they could clutch a win against Taka. Meanwhile, the fight that was happening in front of me wasn't just a fight between a champion and an underdog. It was a fight between a champion and a rookie. They didn't belong on the same level and that in itself was bullying. Perhaps I was wrong to let Natsu fight Jellal.

I wanted to tap-in on behalf of Natsu even though he would probably be pissed at me afterward. But I suddenly felt something in Jellal's magical energy. I closed my eyes and began concentrating on Jellal's presence. His magical energy was dark, but it wasn't nauseating like Jose. It was just different somehow.

The more I focused on Jellal's magical energy, I could sense something was off. I began analyzing his energy, then I found it, another energy swirling within his body. And this energy was foreign, it didn't belong to Jellal.

'What is this', I wonder? This was the first time I ever came upon something so unique. Did someone do this to him or is this something that he did to himself? What could cause this other form of energy to exist in his body?

As Natsu was still being beaten badly by Jellal, I look at Erza and said, "Erza, I have a question for you".

Erza was clearly surprised when I called her name. She probably didn't think I would ask her something in the middle of Natsu's battle.

"What?", Erza said as her attention was still on Natsu.

"You said that Jellal changed one day, right?"

"Yes, he was a good person...until he was tortured, then he changed completely"

"And you said that the moment that you found him again, he was already able to used magic even though he wasn't able to use it before, right?"

"Yes, why is this important?"

"BANG!"

In the distance, Natsu could be seen being propelled into one of the bigger lacrima pillars in the room due to Jellal punching him.

"This is the end, salamander. I will show you true destructive magic", Jellal said as he flew in the air and made seven magical seals using heavenly body magic.

"Be judge under the seven-star! Seven-star blades: Grand Chariot!"

7 magical beams then proceeded to land on the wounded Natsu. But when the dust settled, a still breathing Natsu appeared, something Jellal was impressed about.

"I'm just curious about something", I replied to Erza. I narrowed my eyes as Jellal looks at me and said, "Now it's your turn, Lockhart. I'm going to finish you before too much ethernano would leak out of this tower ".

But before Jellal could fight me, Natsu with his tenacious nature threw a rock at Jellal. "Hehehehe, I hit you", Natsu said as he struggles to stand up.

"I'm not done yet", Natsu said as he punches the floor.

"What are you doing?", Jellal said with anger in his voice.

"This tower is made of crystal right? If it were damaged, it would lose it's power, right? Then that's too bad for you! Mages of Fairy Tail specialize in property damage", Natsu said as he covers his foot with fire and slams it on the floor. This resulted in a crater that would leak high amounts of ethernano into the air.

"BANG!"

I smiled at Natsu's sentence. Sometimes he could be a fool but apparently, he could be smart. Just based on one sentence, Natsu was able to think of a way to handicap Jellal.

This time Natsu began to randomly attack the tower and Jellal was pissed because of this. He wanted to stop Natsu from causing any more damage but Natsu was using all of Jellal's attacks to even make the damage in the tower even greater.

"YOU LITTLE PUNK!", Jellal said with annoyance and anger in his voice. He didn't take kindly to someone using him to destroy something that took him years to build.

"You stupid lousy excuse for a mage! How dare you go in between my goal to revive Zeref! It is unforgivable!", Jella said as he raised his hands in the air and crosses them together. He suddenly released a huge amount of magical energy into the surroundings.

Natsu was being pushed back from where he was standing due to this energy alone.

"THE SHADOW'S EXTENDING TOWARDS THE LIGHT! FALL INTO THE ENDLESS DARKNESS!

Suddenly all the nearby shadows are drawn above him, forming a small black orb that is rapidly growing in size. The orb had an appearance similar to that of the night sky. I could clearly feel the raw magical energy that he is gathering to used such a spell and I couldn't allow Natsu to be hit by such an attack.

"ALTAI---"

Before Jellal could finish casting his spell, I acted. I immediately used soru and went in front of him. Due to him being occupied in channeling his spell he could do nothing to stop. I covered my arm with armament haki and hit his stomach defenseless stomach. This causes him to forcefully stop his spell. Both my fist and the backlash of forcefully stopping his attack made Jellal's magic unstable. This resulted in him puking out blood in his mouth. Before he could do anything, I chop the side of his neck causing him to pass out.
