The push (1)

Now, I have a choice to make. I can stay on my spartan carrier which will give me easy mobility and a good vantage point but will also put me in the middle of the exit path for all the people who don't want due here.

Alternatively, I can leave my carrier and head off to the side in hopes of picking off some easy kills. The downside to slinking off is that most people here are stronger than me so I might not find any suitable targets.

I should check my status before deciding.

Seven levels?!! How did I get so much EXP despite not getting a single kill?

So I can cheat level up this way?

That was to be expected.

Returning to my status, my mana pool has significantly grown due to all the blood magic I had been using. And more importantly, blood magic increased to level two! Now I'm only one skill level away from my goal.

Seems I also picked up the skill group fight tactics and increased my skill level of energy fang.

Still, Navi mentioned that the levels of the people here are at thirty or even higher. I doubt that I can get much done myself and using a single spartan as a carrier in a flood of enemies doesn't sound great.

Hey, Navi! Is there an easy way for me to die and be respawned near Argus?

Do it then!

Blergh. I feel woozy and my vision cuts of. The void greets me with its customary emptiness as I wait for Navi to work her magic or whatever this is. Is it magic?

Sounds complicated. Let's not get into this.

I wait patiently until I'm back in my physical body. I'm in Argus' tent by he isn't here. I hurry outside and find him sitting at a desk writing something. He doesn't look up at me but a dozen eyes on his body focus on me.

"Ah, you have returned. I was wondering how long you would survive."

"I didn't die. I decided to return since dying with those stubborn Spartans would do me no good. More importantly, how are things going?"

"Why don't you take a look? Oh right, I always forget that others don't see as well as I do. We used a cyclops to breach the wall and the legions have successfully entered the main enemy camp. Without that wall, they stand little chance against the legion's orderly ranks that keep marching through that breach."

"And what now?"

"Well, for now, the undead legion is doing their thing and all I need to do is write reports. If you feel bored you can go explore the battlefield. The legion should have been informed by their legate so they will leave you alone."

"How will I know when I should come back?"

"I see most of the battlefield right now. Unless you reach the back of the enemy camp or leave the floor I will see you and send a messenger. And if everything fails you can always ask Navi to help you out."

"You know about Navi?"

"Yes, we are... old acquaintances. Writing reports is kind of our thing so we sometimes talked."

Sure you do. Now let me scoot back to that wall.

I find the giant breach not long after. The wall has been torn down by a massive amount of force that even left a small crater in the ground. Bits and pieces of the wall lie spread around.

The perpetrator of this impressive feat of destruction is sitting next to the breach while leaning against the wall. The four-meter cyclops' eye is out of focus and he keeps yawning. His left hand is still wound tightly around the grip of a towering war hammer.

That thing looks so massive that I doubt if I could have lifted it even back in my prime.

The lamias? Not my type.

Not my type either. I'd prefer something more ferocious and practical. Medusa seems like a hassle.
