I look up at one of the large clocks placed all around the teleporter's waiting area.
"Mister Galad, our agreed time to set out is in two minutes. Where is the rest of your team?"
Do I really need to ask? No! I know exactly that his group of idiots is late because they think they are important. However, knowing that will be quite useful to light a fire under this dudeʼs ass.
"They're a bit late but so what?"
"Not being punctual does not reflect well on your company, mister Galad."
He's clearly flustered. His company probably doesn't care about such things as long as nothing gets out. They can simply issue a gag order throughout the company if necessary. However, I'm not part of their company so things are different.
Since I represent a potential business partner that has a great reputation the superiors should have told him to behave himself. Yet, due to this concerning carriers, he'd probably shrugged it off thinking I would remain meek so long as he intimidated me a bit.
"And why do you care about reflections? Are you a mirror?"
Now that I've involved the company, his response turns aggressive as expected. But really, who calls people a mirror as an insult?
While I find the insult quite lacking, it is so nonsensical that I don't know what to say next.
I simply repeat those two sentences that Navi just said and watch his face grow paler with each word that leaves my mouth. He shows me a forced smile and excuses himself for a minute to see what is going on. Or at least that is what he tells us.
He doesn't leave the teleporter's waiting area but goes far enough away for us to not be disturbed too much by his violent screaming on the phone. He doesn't give them any time to speak and just yells at them to be there in five minutes or he'll fire them.
I don't know if he can actually make them lose their jobs over this or if it's just a threat to make them hurry up. Just to stress him out I pointedly glance at a nearby clock every few seconds before looking back at him.
This formerly proud adventurer grows more nervous with every passing minute. He is shifting his weight from one leg to the other every now and then while his eyes dart back and forth between me and his watch.
After a bit over three minutes, a figure comes into view at the other end of the street. My eyesight isn't good enough to be sure but I believe it's an adventurer. And since the figure is furtively running toward the teleporterʼs waiting area that should be someone from mister Galadʼs team.
Behind the sprinting figure, a few more similar figures are following at a hurried pace. It takes them only a minute to run down the street and reach the waiting area.
After the whole group has arrived, they all collapse to the ground while panting heavily. The possibility of losing their jobs must have scared them more than I thought. I suppose that life as a bottom-class adventurer isn't easy either.
While his team recovers from their involuntary morning high-intensity sprint training, mister Galad goes to handle the proceedings for us to use the teleporter. Since we already booked a time slot things go rather smoothly and we soon step into the large device which still looks like an oversized elevator to me.
Teleporter things happen and we soon appear inside the dungeon near its entrance.
A dark, damp, and hard-to-navigate cave. Who doesn't love the standard dungeons and their goblin-filled passages? At the thought of killing and dismantling goblins, I feel a bit conflicted. However, I don't know those goblins so as long as I keep telling myself that I'll be fine.
I pull up my dungeon map to see if it still works and find that my current human form doesn't impede any of my skills. I can see the red dots representing the people around me but why is there a golden one among them.
So I'm allowed to spare customers?
Good to know. And while we are at it, what is the dark green dot a few floors below us?
So I need to kill it?
The adventurers organize themselves quickly and begin heading into one of the larger passages. Sean and the other carriers quickly pick up their stuff and follow after our vanguard.
Despite my current additive level being 63 and therefore far exceeding the danger posed by this area of the dungeon I focus and keep my hands on my weapons. Will monsters even attack me?
You really thought this through. Can this be considered false advertising since we are technically creating the situation ourselves?
