Chapter 6 Mr. Fahrenheit

the province of Lam Dong was a good place to lay low during the nerve-ending traffic of Ho Chin Minh or running away against the enemy as Whittaker did, a few hours later, they were picked up by the 707th Special Mission Battalion from South Korea, they bid farewell to the Vietnamese operators as they set in full gear to Busan, South Korea. two of them are Sergeants and they are former members of a K-Pop group called Minute Men: Kim Woo Sik and Park Jon Hae, the group was dissolved after attending the mandatory military service

the two entered the 707th Special Mission Battalion or SMB after passing selection, kinda sad news for their fan base, Hours but they are happy for their idols to serve in their country, the train ride from Incheon International Airport to Busan, South Korea. the only sigh of pleasure that the assassin breath out as he remembered the last movie that he watched on the flight, it's about a train that was destined to Busan, South Korea during a zombie outbreak until one of the passengers turned into them. the Hanshin Laboratories looked normal on the outside but the inside turned into a hazardous blur as numerous of scientist were gunned down while the Special Operations Unit were deployed along with the 707th SMB as numerous police officers from Daegu to Seoul were killed in the line of duty and some were wounded during the firefight 

"*yeogie museun il-i beol-eo jyeoss-eoss na?" Zane asked Woo-Sik in Korean

"looks, like we're on time, your Korean is pretty good, where did you learn it?" Woo-Sik asked the foreign operative"

"thank the Keepers, they thought me Spanish, German, Korean, Japanese, Afrikaans, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Brazilian," Zane replied

"what the?! that's a lot of languages to learn! how did you learn it all at once?" Jon Hae asked while flabbergasted 

"one language was learned for one month after it, just like using *BilingualOwl without threatening your family and friends from inactivity"

"we're going in, the scientist needs us right now"

as the operatives entered the building, one of the policemen with glasses decided to join them to avenge his co-worker but Woo Sik stopped his tracks and remained outside, the scientist was worried about his life right now and the only thing he had was the P226 pistol from the fallen Ghost, his seventh sense spotted the disturbed scientist while a group of armed mercenaries is along the way to find him, there's another room with a record player and array of records from old and new and Zane is a huge fan of old music, he found a record called Jazz, not the genre but a record album of Queen. the famous rock band of all time and they recently toured here since 2024 with Adam Lambert, and he loved the performance after watching the biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. the hidden blades are keen sharp and ready to slit some throats

the lights were off while the room where the scientist is located is locked for this moment due to security reasons, he's hiding in the corner while the Ghosts are about to break the door but the Assassin unsheathed his katana

the record player's volume was at the right volume to hear the building even for the operators, the room was filled with violence and broken glassware as beakers were used during the onslaught, he successfully disarmed the enemy soldiers with ease until he chopped it's arm off

"Who are you? and why are you helping me?" the Scientist asked him

he doesn't answer until enemy reinforcement arrived, nobody can't stop him because the assassin is invincible, the scientist took a left turn to the door until a bullet nearly caught his leg before he escaped

the shooter's arm was bent like a metal bar and the bone was seen that is one satisfying bone break and the ear-knifing yell that could hurt someone unlike this dude, the scientist couldn't bear it until he managed to help him but he didn't do anything until he went out for the door

the record player wasn't spared during the onslaught as the stray bullet aimed right at the turntable and the music stopped, incoming enemy soldiers are decreased as the foreign operators took them out. the scientist was later rescued by them and they have some question and they need some answers, Dr. Yoon-Bae can speak English but he's not fluent enough, so he was translated by Woo-Sik since he studied English in the Philippines before the road to stardom 

"Alright, we've rescued you and we need some answers about the cloning scheme by General Whittaker" Deacon said to the Scientist

Woo Sik translated the question while the Korean Scientist replied after a frustrated sigh

"The Ghost Army wanted to recruit me for the cloning stint but I won't use my experiment for their diabolic needs but David Parker granted the deal and I don't want to ruin my name in the biology industry, so I didn't say yes to them, I didn't know it could happen to me" Woo-Sik replied

"so, where's David Parker now? I hope he was hiding elsewhere" Zane questioned him

Woo Sik translated again but Zane is asking the question, he said that David Parker and the laboratory were located in Alberta, Canada. the cloning factory was built underground on a remote farm on the said location. Lieutenant Deacon contacted General Styles about the new intel report, they were asked to take a break because they deserved a break like popping bottles of *Soju while noshing on grilled *Samgyupsal, and pipping hot *Kimchi Jigae. they haven't tried a good meal after the Battle of Basswood. each soldier is issued with a bottle of pills that could remove Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Droppers, it's like Sopers but it could be drawn out the bad experience from soldiers in combat only one pill at a time or if you take a whole bottle, an overdose is knocking on your door to death, each of them took one pill before they ate and chug it down with alcohol or water for Zane. the soup has a punch of spice at the end

two days later, the JTF-2 are prepared for their mission on Alberta, Canada after General Styles dialed their general to have them ready as they got there, the Sergeants bid farewell to the foreign operatives but Zane has received a gift, a recent album that his sister wanted before the group was disbanded. the album was signed by all of the members of Minute Men: Woo-Sik, Jon-Hae, Byeong- Won, Hyung-Seo, and Dong-Woo. 

"here, take the album, your sister would like this" Woo-Sik said while giving the signed album

"Thanks for the album, liked it? I more like loved it! she would be stoked to see this" Zane replied

"I've bet she does, so. is this a farewell?"

"yep, good luck when you reached Canada, Hyung-Seo used to lived there before he becomes famous like us" Jon-Hae replied

the foreign operatives bid farewell to the Korean SMB as they were on board Air Canada, while another plane is about to be lift-off, the KNSF are being recalled back home while Lieutenant Deacon and Zane are going to Alberta to finish the mission. the scientist was also brought along to the trip with a fake name to avoid notification of the Ghost Army.
