Chapter 4: Fate’s plan

Chapter 4: Fate’s plan

Cassia

I was hoping to see Mathias weeks ago. I mean, I’m his mate. He should have called me as soon as he left my mother’s house. However, he never came around or called. I’m so confused because he should have known who I am. Mates are supposed to feel a call. Angel mating is intricate. When an angel female is ready to find her mate, she dreams of him. The male angel will also begin feeling a lure to a certain place where they will find their other half. It’s different with some angels that are mixed, but pure angels know by the dreams they share, and the unmistakable lure. An angel that finds his or her mate usually becomes restless. As if we’re searching for something. I’ve been feeling that way since I saw him. So why hasn’t he come to see me? Groaning with frustration, I bury my head in my pillow. Another thing that has worried me lately is the constant creep factor. When I leave the house, I feel as if I’m being watched. It’s like a constant itch in my wings.

The other day I was changing clothes, and I could have sworn someone was looking at me through the window. I want to call Mathias, but it hurts that he hasn’t come looking for me. Resigned, I pull back the covers and prepare for my day. The sorority is sponsoring a college visit for the next two days. We are required to wear our Phi Beta Kappa professional gear, which consists of a mid-waist Phi Beta Kappa string halter top, and a black tube skirt. I slip on my Jimmy Choo slingback pumps and let my long blond hair loose around my shoulders before I take one last in the mirror and walk out the door. I look good.

“Hey, beautiful. Where are you going?” I’m walking towards my favorite coffee place when Cole Andrews stops me. Cole is the Omega Ki president. He’s very attractive with blond hair and blue eyes and has been trying to get me into bed since freshman year. Unfortunately, all I want is my dream, man. Too bad that he doesn’t seem to care about me.

I look back at Cole. “Hey, Cole. I’m going to get my daily dose of coffee injection. If not, I don’t function.” Cole whistles as he gives me the once-over. “Well, you look good enough to eat.” I gaze down at my outfit and smile. “Thanks. Cole.” He claps his hands together and moves closer. “So, you want to hang out this morning?” I shake my head. “Sorry Cole, I have to work in the Phi Beta Kappa booth this morning and provide a tour for possible incoming freshmen. Maybe some other time.” He bites his lip and smiles. “Okay, but I’m going to keep asking.” I smile and turn back towards my destination. At least someone wants me.

On my way to the coffee shop, I get several “Damn Girl” and wolf whistles, which makes me feel good. Smiling appreciatively, I open my door and am shocked to be met by the sight of none other than Mathias Black. I have to blink my eyes several times to make sure he’s real. Yep, he’s sitting in the corner of the café looking like an imposing statue. He looks hot in his black leather jacket, black t-shirt, and black jeans with black boots. Is he here for me? Curious to know the answer, I march over to him. It’s time to resolve this.
