Chapter 101 - Display

Third Person’s POV (12 yrs. and 8 months old)

“Allen, Ken, along with the other disciples, help out our healers at the back to treat the wounded please.” said Klein, approaching the father and son duo, he looked at his son beside Ken and then at Ken. “Stay out of battle for the meantime, understand?”

“Yes Master.” said the two boys, as they both bowed to Klein, Ken freeing himself from the assault of tickles, Alfred’s laughter slowly dying down.

“Everyone let’s go.” Ken directed his group to walk with him towards the back of their army where their healers are stationed, all the while cooling himself from the rush of adrenaline from earlier.

“Now what shall we do?” asked Alfred, looking at Klein. Klein took out what seems to be a shard of glass from under the sleeves of his robe, the glass made out of crystals similar to those found in Ulysses’s cave.

“Citizens of the Northern Village, Mountain Lions, and Wolf packs, recuperate for the time being, us leaders will take charge in thinning out the numbers of the demon army, any high ranked warriors are welcome to take part in our assault.” said Klein in a somewhat normal voice, but the heads turning towards his direction says otherwise.

For the crystal within his hands amplified his magic to allow his voice to reach only their forces, while leaving out the enemies with a silent treatment. The citizens understood well what leader Klein meant,

And it is to prepare for a huge battle ahead, every single citizen of the northern forest immediately went to work in picking out formations to better assess their numbers as they know some of their people may go and help out the leaders.

Their different humanoid forms bustling about everywhere as they all got to work, their animalistic features visible in broad daylight, the only ones whom had not their animalistic features visible, were Klein, Ulysses, and Lana.

They learned the spell from Ken, similar to the ones he taught his friends, but with a little more to it, as their appearances made those who did not know them, perceive them as human beings, as even their beastial aura’s seemed to be concealed, courtesy to Alfred and Lyn’s assistance some years back.

The lions and the wolves understood the bits of information shortly after the magical beasts had taken action. The lions took it upon themselves to build forts made out of Earth, situated near the back where the healers where located and at the sides near the illusion that was set up,

Leaving out the areas where the concealed lions, wolves, and magical beasts are situated that were tasked to finish of stray monsters, to not reveal their location. The lava wolves did them a favor and made the front parts of the walls molted with magma then cooled down to form hardened lava.

Klein watched at the situation before him and nodded to himself, he turned around and beckoned the other leaders towards him, along with Alfred and company.

“It’s amusing how you interact with your son Alfred, makes it feel like you’re just of the same age.”Klein commented. Alfred smiled at the statement, with a slight glint of pride within his eyes, warm pride for his son.

“Yeah, but I’m not the only one he’s ever so open too, Lyn can justify to that.” said Alfred, Lyn who was at his side rolled her eyes feigning annoyance jokingly.

“Ugh, you don’t have to say anything, for at times I don’t know how he does it but it feels like he’s more understanding than the both of us.” she said, Klein chuckled at that and remembered of those times were such situations seemed familiar.

“Speaking of understanding, shall we give them a warm welcome of understanding?” said Klein, looking at the still vast numbers of the demon army.

“Who wouldn’t we be if we won’t do so.” remarked Raze, walking to Klein’s side, his two warriors behind him, Cloud and Rain silently positioned themselves to his majesty’s right side.

“Then, let’s go!” shouted Alfred, like a kid about to play with his friends, Lyn chuckled beside him in amusement.

“Shouldn’t we be informing the others who are willing to fight what we should do?” asked Erick, abruptly stopping Alfred’s excited manner, whom had his right hand raised and about to run off to battle.

“Right, Klein do you have a plan?” said Alfred, looking expectantly at Klein.

“I have, but it would take us longer to tell it orally, mind if you send this to them?” Klein held out his hand a ball of mist formed on top, Alfred understood what he meant and summoned a purple magic circle below the ball of mist.

“Arcane Magic: Information Access.” The magic circle sent out a purple light to each individual present near them, each one understood the context of the memory Klein crafted in his mind, and nodded at the last part Klein added.

Klein looked to check if some of the warriors and soldiers of their forces have gathered for those who are willing to take part in the assault, and nodded to himself after counting about ten battalions consisting of 100 individuals, so about a half of their forces.

The groups consisted of a variety of magical and animal beasts, he signaled for Alfred to inform them through the arcane spell, and Alfred complied. Once every beast were able to understand the plan, everyone was now eager to commence.

Sensing that the demon army had resumed their advance, Klein quickly issued out an order to intercept them, their own battle cry bellowing from behind. Klein and the other two masters led the charge as the three of them jumped from up the cliff aiming for the wide space below, followed by Alfred and the other two males.

Raze along with his two warriors rode an earth board down the path, mountain lions following behind. While the leaders and the other three humans had jumped down the cliff, the other high-ranked warriors just went down the path at the sides.

Rain, Cloud, Lyn, Lorna, Kel, Coralia, and Trunk were left at the top of the cliff, as per instructed.

“Shall we?” asked Cloud, looking at the females. Lyn nodded, followed by the others. Cloud then positioned himself in front of the six and summoned a violet magic circle below him, the circumference of one meter.

The other six also summoned magic circles in front of them, with the color, red, blue, yellow, green, white, and black, respectively. The six magic circles linked themselves to Cloud’s magic circle, making it grow six times the size.

He looked up in the sky and another magic circle appeared, but this time just above the demon army.

“Psychic Magic: Kinesis Rain.” the magic circle glowed once then sent out a wave of transparent purple energy that targeted every monster’s mind, causing them to halt in pain as they felt their brains were about to burst out from their skulls.

Using this window of time, Klein who was fast approaching a monster, sliced through with his hands, sullying his white robe in dark red blood, but that was only it as he didn’t mind the blood and sliced another monster.

In his sudden change of movements, the warriors and others with him watched as he created a trail of ogres and werewolf bodies on his wake. Alfred and Erick looked at each other for a brief moment, conveying their slight discomfort, just slight.

Vin on the other hand, also sliced through every monster he’d come into contact on his advance with his twin curved blades, seeing this scenery, Alfred snapped out of his stupor and joined in on the fight, followed by Erick.

Alfred casting spells, while Erick used his sword.

They know this was a dirty way of fighting, but if they were not going to immobilize the majority of the demon army, then they will lose energy to fight the demons later. Rize watched as his subjects get torn apart again in front of him.

He cursed the spell that suddenly fell down on them rendering their brains close to frying due to the intense pressure placed on it.

“Deploy the Catapults!” with a desperate attempt, he shouted towards the mechanic of the catapults to let them rain down boulders on their enemy, he then sent out his dark powers to create a barrier that would negate the effects of such a spell.

The lower demons who were under pressure, now hastily worked to prepare the catapults with boulders, and fired. By then Klein and company were about halfway through the remaining demon army when a boulder suddenly appeared in mid-air aiming towards them.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got it. Arcane Magic: Spatial Portals!” shouted Alfred, a magic circle appeared in front of him, he pointed his palm on that one boulder and a portal appeared in front of it then sending it straight down the demon army, atop their heads.

“There’s more!” shouted Vin, pointing his sword at the direction of the back, were several boulders started appearing one by one. Alfred smirked, as he floated in mid-air, magic circle still in front of him, this time, another magic circle appeared below him.

He held out both his hands forward, and as the boulders neared them, they were slowly being warped to the demon army, sounds of guttural noises rang out from each hit the monsters endured from the boulders, killing them within seconds.

“Earth Magic: Rising Formations!” said Raze appearing suddenly at the blind spot where the catapults are lined up, the earth below each catapults rose slowly about five meters high creating what seems to be an earth wall, the catapults tilted upwards.

“Earth Magic: Earth Sunder!” said by Trun and Riven. The earth that Raze made suddenly protruded spikes as Trin and Riven’s spell initiated, but in that moment, the earth wall embedded with spikes suddenly exploded, destroying with it, the catapults.

Once the smoke dispersed, the three lions that suddenly assaulted their backlines where gone, alongside the wall that they created with them, but the demon army stared in shock as their catapults were destroyed to bits before them.

“Fire Magic: Blazing Nova!” suddenly a flame thrower bursted forth from the enemy’s line and the monsters watched as bright light engulfed their frames killing them on sight, and the line of fire continued to burn down the path in front of it up to the center of the army.

In its fading energy came a fire orb that traveled fast towards the location where the flamethrower ended and within seconds imploded the area around it, the circumference of 50 meters.

Instantly halving the numbers of the demon army.

“Oops, my bad.” said Alfred, scratching the back of his head. His friends already know he doesn’t mean it.

“Water Magic: Ocean’s Wrath.” said Klein softly, but his spell says otherwise, as another magic circle appeared atop the violet magic circle, sending out streams of water tornados downwards, the monsters still stuck on the psychic spell, watched helplessly as the tornados shredded them into pieces.

Klein knew that this will provoke the leader’s attention, from Alfred’s absurd fire spell and sorry comment, to his sudden invocation of a wide area of effect water spell.

And just like that, it did, as he watched as the black barrier before them bursts forth revealing a flying individual, looking all menacing towards him, Klein smirked to himself as the figure quickly approached him.

A few centimeters were left before them, the demon Lord, whose face is twisted angrily looking at Klein, hand held out, ready to grab the throat of Klein without hesitation.

Within a split second, three figures appeared beside them in a black light, and out came, Ulysses, Coralia, and Trunk, each holding a black sword and intercepted the demon Lord. The demon Lord smirked to himself at the feeble attempt of stopping him.

But something felt strange, as his hands neared the blades, he didn’t feel anything, nothing but an inviting feeling to touch the said blade, that’s when he realized that something was clearly wrong,

He quickly attempted to jump or blink away from the four, but a blade had grazed him, and within the process of blinking away, he appeared a split second earlier and halfway to his intended location.

“What are those?” intense anger laced his voice, as he stared at the blade the three beasts held before him.

“A welcoming gift.” said Ulysses, with his poker-face, and dashed forward to strike at the demon. Rize swiftly dodged every thrust of the blade towards him, as it so looked on the outside, but in truth, it was due to his outstanding power that he was barely able to dodge.

The swordsmanship was something he didn’t expect to see after twelve years of not fighting this guy, the one he remembers whom had wielded a sword in the past he had fought, but that time wasn’t like this time, as speed had drastically improved making him desperately use his powers to evade.

Ulysses took note of this but didn’t engage further as he knows that if he were to, their plan would be brought to ruin, so after five consecutive strikes targeting four at each limb and one at the head, which were not successful in landing, he jumped back, flipping once in the air.

Creating quite a distance from each other, Lana arrived just in time of Ulysses’ flip landing beside Klein, as she took the spot on the other side.

-Meanwhile, at the tents where the healers are situated-

“Isn’t that the ceremonial blade you told us about Allen?” asked Ken, pointing at the blade on a projected hologram he made with arcane magic.

“Yeah, but we were still supposed to display it unless the situation arises, and wait, why are there three? Didn’t we only have one?” said Allen, carrying with him some white blankets when he stopped behind Ken.

The others who heard their conversation, also took a look at what the other two meant, slowly cramping themselves on Ken’s side. Ken took it upon himself to enlarge the hologram and they all but watched as the battle unfolded.

“You’re right.” said Lila, staring at the blade her master is holding, each one of them took turns in glancing at one another, while the other healer magical beasts, just glanced at them for a moment before minding their own business, on treating their comrade’s wounds.

“Strange.” said Saber softly to himself.
