Chapter 30: The Den Mother

~Third Person P.O.V~

Leo and Piper sat around the blazing pyre in the center of the den, the charred ground around it almost seemed like a distant memory slowly smoldering away in the flames. Leo's eyes were wistful and longing, he worried his sister. Though they've only been in the village for less than a day and the feast was yet to happen, he couldn't stop thinking about her now that they had a moment of calm.

"Hey," Piper said, elbowing the boy's arm lightly, cocking her cheek off to the side as her violet eyes met his warm brown ones. Piper's blonde hair was messy with bits of mud from their fall still clinging to the golden strands, yet it did little to take away from her confident yet comforting grin.

"Yeah?" Leo asked in a sigh, his facial expression seemed drained of his usual warm energy, causing piper to punch his arm lightly. "Ouch!" Leo exclaimed, rubbing his arm.
