Put Your Head On My Shoulder

She spent a long time on her computer talking to Madame Bae about some unexpected problems that needed her attention.

The sudden change Mr. Wan did screw up with her schedule. She was supposed to do some work for today since it was their day off. Now, she ended up canceling all of the plans she had to accommodate the change in their training schedule.

She thought it would be a good idea if she could get someone to do some of her tasks to lessen her job now that she has to spend more time in practice.

She still has to do her thesis. She sighed thinking today would be nothing, compare to the schedule that is waiting for her once she comes home.

An assistant is a very tempting idea. Maybe, she should consult Madame Bae about it.

As much as she doesn't want to admit it, but she is such a great help for her. Her never-ending parties were actually networking.

She found out things she wouldn't know if she didn't take the time to sit down and listen to those conversations that she thought, in the beginning, were quite useless.

She was wrong. Those obnoxious parties were a minefield of information about the business world. She grinned at how convenient and easy it was.

She pulled her suitcase to the parking lot where their bus shuttle was waiting for them.

As soon as she got on the bus, the first thing she noticed was, the window seats were all occupied.

She creased her forehead thinking she really doesn't want to sit in an aisle seat.

She took a deep breath and checked on who she could ask to give her a window seat. Her lips curled into a smile when she saw Grand sitting on a window seat at the back of the bus.

She took off her backpack from her shoulder as she approached Grand.

"Hey!"

"Yo, Miss E. You're late. We almost leave without you." He said grinning.

"Can I take the window seat?" She hesitantly asked.

But she didn't have to ask or call for a favor for Grand to quickly stood up from his seat and let her have the window seat.

"Wait, I saw some vendors outside. I'll buy some snacks." He left her before she could give an answer.

She settled down on her seat cradling her backpack. She put on her headset and her dark sunglasses. The two things she can’t travel without. They are the things that she uses to make sure people won’t talk to her.

The shuttle bus was about to pull out of the parking lot but Grand hasn’t come back. He probably sits somewhere else. But when the bus finally starts, she felt someone sitting next to her. She ignored Grand and just close her eyes ready to sleep.

And she actually fell asleep. She yawned and stretched her arms above her head. She pushed her eyeglasses on her head, as she rubbed her still half-closed eyes, drowsy with sleep.

She glanced over her shoulder to ask Grand something and was surprised to see DT sleeping next to her, he has his arms crossed over his chest. When the shuttle bus accelerates or breaks, his head keeps bobbing.

She watched his side profile that was being hit by the afternoon sun. She smiled as he wrinkled his nose in his sleep.

She pulled her phone from the side pocket of her backpack then stole a picture of DT’s sleeping face. She was checking the photo she took on her phone when she felt DT’s head fell on her shoulder.

She gasped and slightly panicked when the scent of his shampoo hit her nostril. It smells like the earthy forest after a rain.

She turned her face to the window when she felt her cheeks heat up in embarrassment. She couldn’t believe she felt excited with DT’s head on her shoulder.

She was debating on what to do. She was thinking if she should push him away or let him sleep on her shoulder because she took pity on him that his head kept on falling left and right as the shuttle bus moved.

She was still in the middle of making a decision when DT pressed his head against her neck and shifted in his sleeping position, and got comfortable in his sleep. She swallowed a lump in her throat.

Her eyeglasses fell from her head, obscuring her eyes and possibly her face that was already crimson with how much her face was heating up.

She gripped her backpack on her lap, thinking that she would just let DT sleep on her shoulder since he seemed tired and sleepy. Also because from what she observed outside the window, there is heavy traffic ahead.

She was surprised when the bus suddenly got noisy, and DT stirred from his sleep. She tried to take a peek outside the window to find out their location and realized she also fell asleep.

It seems that they are now in a bus terminal where there are a lot of restaurants, hence, the excitement from the other team members.

She stiffened with the idea that they would see them in this sleeping position. She didn’t dare to move and pretended to be sleeping too.

After a while, the bus went quiet. They must be all outside now. She shrugged her shoulder to wake up DT.

“Hey!” she said in a small voice. “I need to use the bathroom, could you please move.”

DT glanced up from her shoulder. She became stiff as a board when his half-closed eyes, curtained by thick lashes stare at her. His lips are almost in her mouth, she could inhale his breath.

She pushed him forcefully. “Don’t make my shoulder your pillow!” she snapped at him as she stood up to get down from the shuttle bus. “Could you please move?”

DT stretching his long arms in front of him then yawned and stood up from his seat. “Sorry, I didn’t know I fell asleep on you.” he rubbed his hands on his face, as he yawned again. “Where are we now?” he asked with his voice heavy with sleep.

She bit her lips as her face started to heat up again. She wanted to kick herself for blushing so much.

“I don’t know. I was sleeping as well,” she answered him as she walked out of the shuttle bus. She walked in front of him because she doesn’t want him to see her flushed cheeks.

She didn’t see the grin that bloomed on DT’s lips watching her back as the two of them get off the bus.
