Chapter 5.37

“…Principal told me.”

Not only I was the King’s candidate, I was also the King’s personal aide and vice ministry of the treasury. I’m the one who proposed to cut the King’s wages and invest them towards the wages and hour division for our officers.

But still, I didn’t expect Principal to tell Kuroyuki about this title. He could’ve chosen a better one, something like his personal aide. Perhaps he’s still annoyed that I cut his wages by 5%, yet boosted the country’s labour performance rate by 3.2%, resulting in an economic growth of 7.8%.

“Eh, so you knew about me right from the start?” I inadvertently murmured. “…I feel really honoured. Even though you knew that I was a government officer, yet you weren’t acting high and almighty.”

“…Even though you know my identity now, yet you are still indifferent,” Kuroyuki uttered.

“Of course,” I replied. “Because you hated it.”
