Drei.Three.Trois.Tres.

Waking up early hasn’t been the best decision I’ve had lately, but I was unsure if I was awake or I was having a heck of a weird dream. As I walked down the stairs and into the living room, I found myself being surrounded by a complete mess. And don’t get me wrong, Enoch and I aren’t super strict with the order, but the mess I was staring at, had only ever occurred when I was leaving for tour, and inside the closet…

I rubbed my eyes as I continued walking around the house, trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I tied my hair up in a ponytail and tied my shirt on the side so that it was obvious I was wearing a short.

“Dad!” I shouted as I walked further, passing through the living room into the dining room. “Ralph? Bryan? Anyone?”

“Who are you?” A random man stopped in front of me, with a smirk.

“Me?” I scoffed. “Who the heck are you and what are you doing inside my house?”

“Esther,” Mike placed a hand on my shoulder. “Go grab some breakfast, we have a lot on the agenda today.”

“Mike, what exactly is going on here?” I questioned as I grabbed a pudding and Mountain Dew from the fridge.

Mike raised an eyebrow at my breakfast, I shrugged. “Your dad, okay maybe not your dad, but Ralph thought that it was going to be a brilliant idea, to have a photo-shoot and magazine interview about the Gunners.” I rolled my eyes. “You know, before the world tour.”

“That’s a shitty idea.” I pointed out as I ate my pudding. “I don’t think nor want to appear in a fuc-”

“Mouth Esther,” Enoch appeared in the kitchen. I suggest you eat your-so-called-breakfast, take a bath and get ready in the cloth that Ralph is leaving in your room, then head over to make-up and hair.”

“Enoch!” I whined, pouting. “I have practice!”

“Cancel it.” He snapped.

I growled and stomped away. This was so unfair! I had surf practice and I couldn’t cancel it. I was the Surfer Master! What example would I be giving, if I cancelled my practice only because his dimwit manager thinks that father-daughter situations bring more fame to Devil Five, yet he doesn’t do it with the other families.

After I finished my super healthy breakfast, I made my way to my bathroom and decided to get ready for the stupid photo-shoot. There was once when my father thought that having shoots or interviews inside the house was insecure, but now, apparently, it all changed.

Stepping out of the bathroom, I noticed a baby blue dress placed on my bed alongside some high-heels. I scoffed. Ralph was insane. I might use ONE of the said things, but never both. With a smirk on my face, I grabbed the dress and got dressed, before walking out of my room, barefoot may I add, and waited for someone to make me “pretty”.

Most agonizing two hours of my life…

“Attention!” A voice made everyone shut up. “It’s supposed to be a day in the Gunner’s residence, or life, whoever you want to take it. So we are taking pictures of what they would normally do. Let’s just make sure that they are decent enough.” I rolled my eyes.

“What about the interviews?” Enoch questioned. “How are we going to be doing that?”

The man nodded. “I am going to interview you first,” Enoch nodded. “Whilst people take pictures of your daughter doing what she would normally be doing.”

I licked my lips. “I would sleep,” I shrugged. “I don’t think that you want to take pictures of a teenager sleeping. That would be super creepy.”

“Esther,” My father warned. “Just read a book or I don’t know, play some X-box.”

I rolled my eyes. “You take the fun out of everything!” I threw my hands up in the air as I walked over to the game room. Time to kick some ass.

I had to pose for a couple of photos, but after that, I threw myself on one of the many beanbags, did some extra poses, and played some COD and many other games. The guys that were working with me, weren’t as bad as I thought, and at the end, I ended up having a good time, yet I knew that my good mood was going to die the minute I managed to get to the beach…

“Esther,” Another head popped inside the room. “It’s time.”

“Time for?” I questioned.

“The interview with you and your father.” He replied. “It will be by the outside pool.” Yeah, we are so cool we have an indoor and outdoor pool…

I took in a deep breath before turning off everything. “Yeah whatever, I’m already late,” I muttered.

“Late?” The guy asked as we walked over to the pool.

I raised an eyebrow at him. “I do have a life,” I sighed. “I have surf practice.”

“Yeah, true.” The guy replied and I rolled my eyes.

I stared at all the equipment that was laid around the pool. I mentally groaned as I approached the sun chair next to Enoch’s. I plopped myself next to him and winked at him. Enoch returned my wink with a small smile and grabbed my hand. We were both thinking the same… we are not your typical father and daughter…

“So,” I sighed. “I am a thousand per cent sure that they are going to ask me about my love life,” I stated. “And then they are going to move with you.”

“Your love life?” Enoch questioned and I nodded. “What about it?”

I chuckled. “Don’t be so naive Enoch,” I rolled my eyes. “They are going to ask if I have a boyfriend or something, and then they are going to ask you if you have a girlfriend?” I raised at the end.

“I don’t have one.” Enoch rolled his eyes with a smile. “What about you?” He mimicked my suspicious face.

I laughed. “No! I am a single Pringles.” I winked at him and he laughed.

“Good, good,” He warned with a smirk. “You better be.”

I rolled my eyes with a chuckle and we continued talking about random things. Some photographers took this moment to take a couple of pictures of us, then they asked us to pose, and finally, we had to endure a long-ass interview…

When I finally managed to leave the interview and photo-shoot, I changed outfits into my practice gear and ran as if my life depended on it towards the beach. I was supposed to be there half an hour ago, but… well, you know what happened.

“You are thirty minutes late Esther,” Collin sighed. “Make sure to time it before spending time with your boyfriend.”

I rolled my eyes. “For the love of everything above and below!” I exclaimed. “Collin I don’t have a boyfriend. I was late because Ralph thought that it was going to be a brilliant idea to have an interview/photo-shoot of a father-daughter moment before the tour.”

“Oh,” He chuckled. “Well, Sebastian is pissed beyond reason.”

“Ugh!” I fake cried. “Okay, whatever, I’m going to go and deal with him right now.”

Collin nodded as he continued explaining whatever he was, to some kids. I took in a deep breath as I stared at Sebastian, he was going to murder me. I could already see the tabloids. Esther Gunner drowned on a surfing accident… Aren’t I dramatic?

“Esther Gunner,” Sebastian snapped. “I don’t care if you are the Surf Master or whatever, you have a schedule and you have to stick with it.”

“Sebastian!” I whined. “I was stuck in an interview and photoshoot with Enoch! I couldn’t bail!”

“On the day you have practice?” Sebastian raised an eyebrow and I rolled my eyes. “Drop the board, you’re swimming today.”

I groaned but obeyed. Here was the only place in the whole world, in which I couldn’t get away with anything… “How long?”

Sebastian stared out at the ocean and then his watch. “Here’s a deal,” He smirked, he understood it wasn’t my fault, but he still wants to make me suffer. “See the lifeguard boat?” I nodded. “You get there and come back in less than five minutes and you’re free of swimming, if not, you’ll continue doing 20 laps.”

I smirked at him and nodded. I am not the Surfer Master for nothing… swimming abilities activate!
