Thirty-seven: MTOABB

MTOABB

I let it ring for a few more seconds as I watch it closely.

Father is in the next room opposite mother’s. I don’t know who they are trying to fool. We all know that they are waiting for everyone to fall asleep so they can return back to their youth years of sneaking into bedrooms. They are still legally married on paper, so no one could ever blame them if they decided to seek comfort in each other's arms. I know I wouldn’t - I’m still that little girl who wants both her parents under the same roof, but only if they are happy.

I know better than to try and knock on Chloe’s bed. She had sent a text an hour ago saying to not disturb her - that was code for ‘Brody is in my room so don’t dare interrupt’. I wasn’t thinking of doing such a thing, she needed to smile after the week she’s had. But I have had a weird week too, so why is there no boy in my room?
