Forty-six: MTOABB

MTOABB

By the time I reached the kitchen that morning, they were all already seated and exchanging pleasantries. I moved to sit next to the open seat next to Chloe. He had left a plate out for me so I grabbed a few omelettes folded around cheese and mushrooms from the full stack in the middle of the table. I quickly take a bite and savor the moment as the mushrooms dance around on my tongue mixed with the cheese and omelette. I could eat this whole day without another care in the world.

“You must be really hungry,” Chloe says as I reach for my third omelette. I hum in response and immediately take a bite. They all watched as I chewed and I reverted my stare down, focusing on these deliciously made omelettes.

Who made them? Him?

Okay Mr. Chef, looks like I won’t have to take culinary class - just need to make sure you stick around for a very long time.

Flashbacks of last night’s arguing kicks in so vividly that I almost gagged on my food.
