Fifty-seven: MTOABB

MTOABB

It wasn’t loud, but yet I still heard it. I was waiting for it. I was waiting for him to knock and tell me what I already knew. I sighed, I didn’t have energy to call for him to enter so he knocked again, this time as a warning before coming inside.

“I’m sorry,” I whisper.

“For what? You didn’t do anything to be sorry about,” he assures me.

“I wanted to be there for you, truly,” I cry.

“I know.” he walks up to the bed where I laid with the pillow to my face. “And you will be.” He smiles at me.

“Huh? What do you mean?” I ask. Maybe I had misheard, those things can happen to just about anyone.

“Let’s just say my persuasion skills are much better than yours,” he teases as he smirks.

“So she said yes?” I ask, still not certain, but then he nodded. I jumped up from the bed with joy as I lunged for his neck to give him a hug. He holds me in position as we both fall on the bed.
