 "Hi. Wasn't sure if you were going to talk to me again," Renee sent back. 


 "Honestly, I wasn't sure at first either. I thought about it and I don't want to lose our forming friendship. I'm still hoping one day you will let me call you. I'd love to hear your voice. Right now I'm just depressed after the conversation we had the other day. Been trying to get out of this funk for days." 


 "I'm sorry, Kevin. I should have never brought it up. I thought you might like to talk about it, but I should have waited until you were ready. Not that it matters, but it upset me, too. It's never my intention to hurt anyone. Your reaction made me think of how Alex would take my situation. It didn't make me feel good. I can't call you. I told you that Mark is a jealous man. It wouldn't end well if he even found out we were talking like this." 


 "Do you think he would actually harm you for talking to someone?"
