My Running Nightmare

“Okay. How would you feel if I brought Christian to see you?” 


 “I honestly don’t know. I guess that would be okay. I just...” Renee trailed off. 


 “What is it? You can ask me anything.” 


 “I don’t know why but I feel afraid to ask you.” 


 Jesse frowned but said, “Don’t be afraid.” 


 “Can you give me a few days to adjust? Don’t bring Christian here and you don’t come back either? I just need time to see how I feel about all of this. Is that okay?” Renee asked as she wrung her hands. 


 Jesse’s frown deepened as he saw what she was doing. That was always a nervous, scared habit of hers. As much as he wanted her to remember their life together, he found he also didn’t want her to remember. They could finally start over and she may be able to love him. He placed his hands over hers to stop her from wringing her hands.
