"What did you do to make me not happy?"
"I didn't trust you not to leave me. I have a very bad temper. I was finally controlling it. I was finally able to show you the love and respect you deserve."
"So, you were abusive when you lost your temper? Or what happened when you lost your temper?"
"In the beginning, yes, I was abusive. I lost control sometimes during the relationship. After a while, it was just my words that hurt you. I started trying really hard to be a better husband, a better man for you. You were responding and our relationship was better than it had ever been."
"So, when I feel afraid sometimes, it's for good reason. When was the last time you put your hands on me?"
"In the very beginning of our relationship. Right after you found out you were pregnant, I stopped."
"So, you were verbally abusive after that? Sexually abusive? What?"
